Chapter 319 - Some Damage can be Healed
Chapter 319: Some Damage can be Healed
Death is irreversible.
Yun Xiangxiang knew Faye wouldn’t kill her, or else she would have to pay with her life; not even the Cardicra Family could save her.
Similarly, Lucifer wouldn’t kill her either. Even if he violated Yun Xiangxiang, he wouldn’t take her life.
Lucifer wasn’t the master of his family yet; he was still fighting for the heir’s position.
If his family were to be targeted by Song Mian, his parents—who had many sons—would hand him over after considering all their gains and losses.
This was why Yun Xiangxiang was unafraid.
“You could have gotten out of there even without me.” This girl was too intelligent; she could stay calm in whatever situation.
No matter if the Song Family came or not, no matter if he rescued her back then, she would inevitably get away from the abduction.
“Yeah, that’s what I thought too.” So Yun Xiangxiang didn’t feel an ounce of gratitude toward Lucifer.
She was confident that she could escape from the traffickers, but Lucifer was faster. Even so, what he did was change her cage into another one.
“Sir?” A powerful male voice asked outside.
The man was probably trying to make sure Lucifer was safe since he had been here an hour.
Yun Xiangxiang picked up Lucifer’s ring and looked closer at it. She looked at the sharp triangle that was gleaming with silver light.
“Sir?” The man shouted again, but he didn’t push the slit open. Maybe he was worried he might see something he shouldn’t.
Lucifer stared at Yun Xiangxiang calmly for a while, but he said nothing.
Yun Xiangxiang went to his side gracefully and scraped his face lightly with the blade. “Did you put poison on this?”
Lucifer gazed at Yun Xiangxiang, darkness filling his deep blue eyes. It was like the calm before the storm.
“Well, then this thing is poisonous then. I don’t dare to kill you either.” Yun Xiangxiang put it away. “But it’s easy to ruin someone’s face. Men might not care about their looks, but you could not have forced me to draw blood if you just got along with me.”
Yun Xiangxiang sighed heavily and picked up Lucifer’s wristwatch. She didn’t care if it was a world-famous watch.
Nor did she care if it was a limited edition or a custom-made one. She dismantled it with the ring’s blade, not even looking at Lucifer as she did so.
But her flat voice was filled with a threatening overtone. “If I find out there’s a thin piece of metal or a needle here, I don’t mind torturing you.”
“You’re a smart girl; you should know that if you hurt me, the Song Family has to pay a grave price to protect you,” Lucifer threatened.
“First of all, you kidnapped me.” Yun Xiangxiang sneered.
“I saved you,” Lucifer quibbled. “I truly saved you.”
Yun Xiangxiang paused when he emphasized that. The one who kidnapped her was Faye; this was undeniable.
Lucifer did save her, but she needed immediate medical attention as she was in a coma, so he didn’t manage to inform the Song Family.
He was trying to find an excuse to get out of this without admitting that he was trying to harm her. That way, nobody could accuse him of anything.
“Why do you have the courage to violate me, but not kill me?” Yun Xiangxiang kept on dismantling the watch.
“Sir?” The voice probed for a third time.
If Lucifer kept on being quiet, Yun Xiangxiang felt they would kick the door down and come in, so she hastened what she was doing.
“Because some damage can be compensated by giving up some of your gains, at least to you.” Yun Xiangxiang answered it for him.
“As for what the victims think, well, that isn’t something powerful people like you consider.”
After a pause, Yun Xiangxiang made a bold guess. “Or, you might be using the Song Family’s revenge to mess up your family so you can reap your rewards.”
Someone like Lucifer must have seen all kinds of women.
If he lusted after her, he didn’t have to violate her after she had woken up.
This decision was made after careful planning that factored in all his gains and losses.
Lucifer’s gaze turned sharper.
Yun Xiangxiang caught a glimpse of that gaze. “Tsk tsk tsk, bullseye, I see. Sorry for figuring out your little scheme.”
With the sound of a clatter, Yun Xiangxiang finally found a sharp object. She took it and squatted down in front of Lucifer.
“Let’s go back to what we were talking about. Some damage can be compensated. If I ruin your face and ask my genius doctor of a boyfriend to restore that dashing look of yours, what can you do to me after that?”
“If I insist that I am defending myself against your assault, nobody can prove I’m lying, right?”
“You’re the one who suffers in the end. So why did you ‘save me’ in the first place?”
Yun Xiangxiang stabbed that object into Lucifer’s thigh, missing his artery and the vitals by less than two centimeters.
Save for the single centimeter Yun Xiangxiang must hold so she could stab it. The needle couldn’t make a deep wound.
“When all is said and done, you’re just underestimating me. You think girls like me are only smart but without fangs; you think we just make empty threats, but we won’t do any harm!”
Yun Xiangxiang emphasized the last word. She yanked the bloody needle out and wiped it on Lucifer’s face.
“Oh my, it’s bleeding, but don’t worry. I’ll just prick you a few more times, and then I’ll bandage it. You won’t lose too much blood.”
The sound of panicked footsteps from multiple people could be heard outside. Right when someone was going to turn the door handle, Yun Xiangxiang raised the needle again.
She looked into Lucifer’s eyes; he shouted, “Go away!”
Before the handle could be turned, everything became silent again. Yun Xiangxiang twirled the needle and sat down beside Lucifer.
“If you just listened to me, you didn’t have to bleed. But no matter, it’s just a little prick, and the wound isn’t deep. Stop wriggling around, and it will stop in a while.
She wasn’t planning on bandaging the wound for him.
“Untie me, and I’ll bring you down.” Lucifer was calmly cold.
Yun Xiangxiang turned to look at him, and she shook her head. “I trust that you want to let me go, but I dislike the feeling of not being in control. Please bear with it.”
He gazed at Yun Xiangxiang stoically and kept quiet.
About half an hour later, Yun Xiangxiang noticed the sound of footsteps rapidly coming closer. “Sir, someone came.”
“Don’t stop them; let them in,” Lucifer ordered the man standing outside the door. He turned to look at Yun Xiangxiang. “Now, can you untie me?”
Yun Xiangxiang picked up Lucifer’s ring and sliced the layers of cloth open.
The escaped Lucifer looked at Yun Xiangxiang quietly for a while before opening the door and leaving. Yun Xiangxiang followed him.
As soon as Yun Xiangxiang came down, she saw Song Mian looking cold and dangerous. But when he saw her, his gaze turned gentle.
