Chapter 304 - I’m His Everyday Meal
Chapter 304: I’m His Everyday Meal
They were brought to a secluded villa. It stood in a quiet environment. Yun Xiangxiang went inside the living quarters and waited for Faye.
Faye appeared soon after. She looked quizzically at Song Qian. Faye didn’t know who Song Qian was.
“I need to talk to you. Alone,” Faye told Yun Xiangxiang.
Yun Xiangxiang gazed at Faye. “Qianqian, can you wait outside for me?” Yun Xiangxiang told Song Qian.
Now that she was here, they should make everything clear. Yun Xiangxiang wasn’t worried Faye would attack her in front of everyone.
Song Qian nodded and went outside. There were not many people here. Song Qian didn’t go far. She stood outside, looking on guard. Even if something unexpected would happen, she could rush inside at first notice.
“Bold of you to ask your bodyguard to leave. Aren’t you afraid of me?” Faye turned around to get a bottle of wine and two wine glasses.
Faye did investigate Yun Xiangxiang, but she couldn’t get a hold on Song Qian’s origins. All she could find was that simple resume.
Faye wouldn’t be facing Song Qian this calmly otherwise. She would have been hostile toward her.
“If you want to do anything to me, what makes you think I’ll take it lying down?” Yun Xiangxiang replied calmly. “If I decided to come here, that means I have nothing to fear at all.
Faye was distracted by Yun Xiangxiang. She poured too much of the red wine, and it spilled on the table.
Faye put away the red wine. She looked at Yun Xiangxiang darkly. “Are you really just eighteen?”
The calmness and maturity in her actions really belied her age.
There was not an iota of childish youth in Yun Xiangxiang. Faye had seen many people working with society for decades, yet not everyone was as calm as the young lady who was standing before her.
Yun Xiangxiang picked up the wine glass elegantly. Her clean fingers sparkled as she swished the wine in the glass.
She looked at Faye alluringly, “Perhaps I am a vampire. For all you know, I might have lived for a thousand years.”
Yun Xiangxiang smiled. She raised her head and gulped the red wine. The light shone on her flawless, beautiful skin.
As she raised her head, she revealed her gorgeous, slender neck that formed a lovely arc. The light sprinkling on her eyelashes seemed to become shining stars in the night sky. Yun Xiangxiang had an almost vampiric allure.
“Quite bold, are we? Drinking the wine I poured just like that,” Faye’s fingers twirled around her glass.
“I thought I said I have nothing to fear. That’s why I came.” Yun Xiangxiang put her glass down. “Nice wine.”
Faye looked at Yun Xiangxiang quietly. She smiled, but it did not reach her eyes. Faye took a sip of her wine.
“When I first knew about your existence, I thought he was bored with all the aristocrats. Why else would he be interested in a plain Jane like you?”
“I am no aristocrat, yes.” Yun Xiangxiang stayed calm, ignoring the disdain in Faye’s remark. “Having an aristocratic girlfriend is just for show. It’s for him to entertain the world. I may be normal, but as his bread and butter, he cannot afford to lose me.”
Faye did not expect to receive this counterargument. “That’s confident of you.”
“All thanks to my love,” Yun Xiangxiang mercilessly put Faye down.
She wanted to know why Faye called her here. When Faye investigated her and tried to put her down, Faye wanted Yun Xiangxiang to panic and make a wrong move. Now was Yun Xiangxiang’s time to let Faye have a taste of her own medicine.
Faye didn’t know that she wasn’t on the same level as Yun Xiangxiang when it came to a conversation involving Song Mian. She didn’t want to admit it, but Yun Xiangxiang would always have the upper hand when it came to this.
Faye gripped her glass tighter. “I have known him since I was sixteen. He’s naturally curious about everything new. Once he is through researching it, he wouldn’t even take another look at it.”
Is she trying to tell me that Song Mian is dating me because he’s curious about someone like me? Is she saying he will abandon me once the novelty wears off?
Yun Xiangxiang laughed mockingly.
“What are you laughing at?!” Faye’s face darkened.
“Miss Faye, do you love him?” Yun Xiangxiang asked seriously.
“Of course! I have loved him for ten years!” Faye emphasized every word.
“Your love is cheap.” Yun Xiangxiang scoffed. “To you, he’s an irresponsible playboy who could get into a relationship just because he is curious. But to me, he’s a man of sheer will, focus, and commitment. And he’s responsible.”
How can you say you love him if that’s how you see him? How could you doubt him as a person just because you want to pull your romantic rival down?
Faye’s look worsened. But she didn’t skip a beat. “You have never come across people in our circle. Most of us are like this. I might love him, but that doesn’t mean I’ll ignore or twist the truth.”
Yun Xiangxiang nodded smilingly. “Okay, then. You can say that I haven’t seen too much of the world. True, I don’t see rich people that much, so I don’t know how they...”
Yun Xiangxiang was interrupted by a notification alarm from her phone. She took it out and saw that Milles sent her a message.
He asked where she was now. They were going to go to the next filming spot in an hour.
Yun Xiangxiang gave him a reply and put her phone away after a pause.
She raised her head to look at Faye. “Qi Jun told me that the Cardicra Family is aristocratic. I have always thought that irresponsible playboys are just upstarts. I didn’t expect the aristocrats to be this corrupted. So the radiant appearance is just that. A facade.”
“You can’t understand the rules of our circle, nor can you adapt to it.” Faye looked at Yun Xiangxiang coldly. “You should know this. The higher the man is in the hierarchy, the more protective he is toward the things he used to have. Even if he throws it aside, he wouldn’t stand to see another man take it away from him. Ignorant little girls like you all end up suffering.”
“All?” Yun Xiangxiang caught something. “Are ignorant little girls like me mere disposables in the eyes of the men in your circle?”
“Looks like you’re not ignorant,” Faye chuckled.
“I went to the Min Family in Hong Kong. I went to Song Mian’s home too. I have always thought that quiet sophistication is the hallmark of aristocrats. I see that I was incorrect,” Yun Xiangxiang was disappointed.
“But you have opened my eyes, Miss Faye. So actual aristocrats are no different from the upstarts in lame dramas. Is this just a difference between Chinese aristocrats and foreign aristocrats? Or is it because I only saw the surface? I am confused, to be honest.”
“Of course, you can only see the surface. You’re just a guest. Everyone will have a sparkling facade to show to their guests. The real world of aristocrats is far beyond your wildest imagination. You better back off from Song Mian now, or else...”
“Or else what?”
