Chapter 175 175-The Lost Shadow And Broken Master, Fate Makes A Mistake

A small room more equal to a cage, that was where the 19-year-old boy who looked sunken and destroyed lay, his body beyond grotesque, his eyes lost their shine, while even if he wanted, he became unable to take his own life, he stays there curled up, not even a hint of his presence can be felt, its as if he was unable to be detected by the cosmos.

"Amazing! just amazing! who would have thought that your soul will be compatible to hold its power!"

The masked man screamed in a frenzy as he stood outside the locked gate, his maddened eyes were the only ones seen, focusing on the destroyed boy in front of him, the item that let him hide from the eyes of everyone, the man scientist never thought that he would find someone capable of being matched with its power.

If he could dig in deeper and implement it on himself, then he would be able to hide from everyone, a power that will make him ruler over and never be found out!

"You really are my lucky star..... hehe...."

He chuckled in a deranged manner before leaving the locked cage, leaving behind the shell of a once arrogant man, once the masked man left all that remained was silence, Azrail hoping that the ends would soon take him away, it was then another rattling of the chain was heard, hearing this a spark of life lit within Azrail's eyes for a moment as he lifted his head.

Before he stood a cloaked figure, the curves on the cloak making it attentive that the person in front of him is a woman, much older than him, two thick chains clutched over her legs, binding them but the most interesting part about the woman being that she had no shadow!

The dim light from the ceiling didn't provide any shadow to the woman, within her hands a plate of food, much better than whatever shit Azrail was being fed. Azrail looked above at the woman with a hint of gratitude in his eyes, something that he had forgotten a long time, or was it a short time? he no longer knew.

"The escape will take place tonight"

Azrail spoke in a low voice, the curtain of hopelessness that covered his face faded away, and the act that he was near his end only faded away in front of the person in front of him, for he owed her far too much for keeping his sanity.

At first, he thought that going through all these experiments might grant him some kind of power, something to break his trash talent, yet all he got was something any assassin would die for, completely useless to him, what use was hiding when he can't kill? and by now his use was reaching its end, 2 days from now he will be killed and consumed.

Hence he had to escape, and for all that he had to thank the person in front of him, otherwise, he would have been at the wimp of them all.

"Come with me, let's escape, I can cover my powers to hide you"

Azrail said his voice this time coating true pleading but all the woman did was shake her head and push forth the food towards Azrail.

"I was brought by him and he took my shadow, even if not by loyalty I still belong to him, to me there is no escape"

A dry yet unyielding voice was heard, making Azrail sigh out, his eyes turned towards the food as he took the bread and started to chew, his teeth hurting like hell but he still went through with it and took them all in, he needed energy for what will be taking place.

"Why help me?"

He asked, his eyes focusing on the covered woman, to everyone that came here she stayed completely indifferent, not even looking at them nor sympathizing with their plight, she was a broken shell that listened to that man who robbed her shadow, one that should have rightfully belonged to the master she chose yet here she was risking everything, the only reason she was even living is due to the fact that she didn't disturb that crazy man.

"You remind me of myself"

She said her voice gaining some sort of emotion.

"Perhaps you would have made a perfect master for me, no more than that don't you feel it too?....."

Her last words were whispered but Azrail heard it nonetheless, a complex emotion passing through his eyes, during his stay here he learned a lot about the worlds above and he got a good idea of the woman in front of him, she would probably be the last of her species a proud collection of the mad man, being her master meant a lot of things.

Her species live by choosing the one they serve, she is probably being the last of that lineage, and once in a zillion chance, there arises a situation where a perfect master would be born for the perfect shadow, a blessing by the cosmos they called it.

"Sigh....our fate surely is funny, isn't it?"

Azrail spoke with a chuckle, the master was robbed and tortured while his possession of shadow too being a slaved being, fate truly did play with the two of them, they were meant to be the greatest treasures yet here they were, close by heart but separated by miles, Azrail laughed at his fate, his gaze turning focused as he said.

"Can I see your face? for our last meeting, I prefer to leave it on a good note"

He said, starting to kill all the feelings with him, if he wanted to move forth he needs to keep them in check, keep all the anger buried within him, and enact revenge when the time is right. The woman in question didn't respond for a minute until suddenly she pulled her hood down, showing her face to him.

Azrail was unresponsive as he saved her face deep into his mind, after a few seconds she closed her hood again, while Azrail looked at her with emotionless eyes.

"You won't be forgotten till I die, your legacy lives within me, and thank you"

These were his final words to her, to others it looked cold and detached but to the two of them the words spoke more volume than one can imagine, they were the same, she was born to know everything he wants and even if the required connection wasn't created they still have a unique connection between the two of them.

The two stared at each other for a moment, millions of emotions passing through their mind but in the end reality prevailed as she walked away, the final piece of her heart being destroyed but she would die knowing that she had at least served her true master once, one that should have being her light even in the darkest shadow.

The mad scientist was smarter than everyone, he had made everything in such a way that there would be no betrayals nor any problems, and it was true, the woman of shadows even when unwilling to have him as her owner would not betray him, hence betrayed was 0% possible, in no way will she harm him, even if she desires it but the kid the man called his lucky star ended up being the chosen one for the shadow.

A meeting of fairy tail turned into one of horror, a shadow meeting her chosen one while being stripped of her chance while the master meets his destined shadow in a broken hell, fate made a mistake there, which leads to a situation of change.

'I wish you well, master'

Her words were at her heart, while she hope died with her, sometimes fairy tales are just fairy tails, only meant for the delusion.

'If there is a next life I only wish to serve my true master'

There were her last thoughts as her mind shut down, killing of all feeling she walked in the darkness of the shadow, forever alone and unwanted.
