Chapter 78: Crossing the Grassland
Chapter 78: Crossing the Grassland
As Ayaan noticed those foreign people, they also looked towards them. Before coming here, Ayaan knew that the eastern region wasn't the only place the gate of the heavenly palace would open, but in the other three regions, it would also appear.
After looking through those people Ayaan found that they weren't any weaker than the group of the eastern region. Nonetheless, everyone remained vigilant towards the people of the other regions.
Just when everyone was thinking about what they should do. The group of three people walked towards them.
In a single glance, Ayaan was able to tell, those three were at the peak of the great mage. None of them was weaker than Luke.
When Luke saw the group of three was moving towards him, his expression became grim as well. However, no trace of fear could be seen on his face. It was as if he had anticipated, it would happen.
"You are Luke?" one of the men asked, as he looked at Luke.
"Yes, I am Luke. You must be Lucas from the southern region?" Luke asked the man who had just spoken.
"Yes, I am Lucas and they are Charlie and Chasen from northern and western regions.'' The man introduced himself and the others briefly.
Ayaan looked at the four people engaged in the merry talk and narrowed his eyes. He found it strange, it looks as if they were waiting for everyone to gather here. What was their reason?
'Luke is from the Life temple and someone from the Life Temple once was able to reach the fifth level and received the legacy. The three of them must be connected to someone who had entered the fifth flower previously.' Ayaan tried to connect the dot but still found as if something was missing.
He didn't know the reason behind all this, but he knew that he would be able to get his answers after reaching the fifth level. However, as he thought about the target, he became depressed eventually.
Reaching the second level was so hard for him. How would he reach the fifth level?
Anyways, he didn't think much about it at this moment. He looked at the four people who were instructing their people. And when they moved towards the vast grassland, he slowly started to follow them.
No one was stupid at this place. After watching the interaction between four people, anyone would be able to guess that everything was pre-planned.
Everyone quickly followed the four groups. After they entered the grassland, nothing happened. However, before anyone could sigh in relief as the cry sounded.
"Ahh!"
Everyone turned towards the shriek, and after seeing the scene in front of them, their eyes almost popped out of their sockets.
Green hands had grabbed the ankle of the man, and no matter what he tried it didn't do anything to the hand. After struggling for some time. The body of the man gradually started to sink in the ground.
"Help me! Please, someone, help me!" Everyone was stunned after seeing such a scene and before they could help the man. The green hand dragged him into the ground and disappeared out of everyone's sight.
"Wh-what was that?" someone in the crowd asked, but no one had an answer.
"Those four groups know something which we don't. Let's ask them." the man who was the leader of the undead shrine said with his trembling voice.
"Oh no! Where are they?" someone shouted, attracting everyone's attention.
"What are you talking about?" the man from the undead shrine asked when he heard a man with a pale expression.
"Tho-those four groups aren't here anymore.'' When everyone heard the man, their hearts skipped the beat and turned around to look for those four groups, but no trace could be seen.
Everyone's face turned pale. No one knew what was going on. They just wanted to escape from this damned place.
"Argh!"
Before anyone could think about anything, another shriek sounded. When everyone turned the man was already half inside the ground. And in just a blink of an eye, his body disappeared.
Slowly, more hands started to appear and dragged more people in the ground, not leaving even a trace behind.
"We have to escape from here or we all are going to die. Those bastards used us as bait to these bloodthirsty beasts. I am going to kill them!" someone from the beast region shouted furiously.
Ayaan was examining all those underground beasts all this time. He was able to discover that those beasts had the element of wood and had the ability to travel underground without any hindrance. However, he was also able to discover their weakness after examining them.
"They are wood type monsters. Use your fire elemental spell to fight them!" Ayaan shouted towards the people who were struggling against the beasts.
Hearing the shout, no one thought about the identity of the person everyone started to cast their fireballs.anyone could learn the low-level spells of the five basic elements but only those who were truly talented could learn high-level spells.
So, almost everyone knew the low-level spells of the fire element. When the fire hit those green arms of the beats the mournful sound echoed in the whole area.
People saw this and knew that it was working. Everyone knew that the fire element was the nemesis of the wood element. So, it was a perfect tool against these wood type monsters.
"Okay, let's go," Ayaan said to the ladies before he started to move deeper in the grassland.
On the way, many beasts tried to attack his group but they killed all of them. They were just high mages; so it wasn't hard to kill them for Ayaan and Rebecca. But Noor and Isobel were too low level. Therefore, Ayaan and Rebecca had to help them.
Ayaan had the talent to use every element and Rebecca was very proficient in using the fire element. Both of them defeated every monster.
When Ayaan killed the monster, he could feel that his magic energy was increasing gradually. He was too high level. Therefore, it wasn't obvious in his case but he could feel increasing energy inside his body.
And at the same time, Ayan found that the process was very similar. There was no difference in levelling himself through the system or by killing the monsters inside this dimension. Ayaan asked others as well, to confirm his suspicions. And they told him that after killing the monster their magic energy would increase a little bit.
Ayaan was suspicious that this place was related to the heaven destroyer somehow. As his thought reached there, his eyes immediately lit up.
'If this place is related to the heaven destroyer. Does this mean I can get another piece of the system?' as he thought about this, an excited expression appeared on his face.
Nevertheless, it took about an hour to cross the grassland. When Ayaan's group arrived, there were only a few people present who were trying to enter the wall made of energy. However, none of them was from the four groups.
No one bothered with Ayaan and they continued to struggle against the wall. Ayaan looked at the ladies and spoke, "Let's go."
After that, the group walked towards the wall and yet again, the ladies entered the wall easily. Ayaan looked at the wall and pushed it with his hands. Just like before, a repulsive force generated from the wall and tried to push him away.
His whole body drowned in sweat, entire face was red while veins could be seen on his face. No matter how much he tried, the wall didn't let him enter. When he thought that it was the end of his journey inside the palace, strange energy started to fill his entire body.
When he focused on energy, he realised that it was coming from his consciousness. And it was the same energy he had in the previous encounter.
Previously, he thought that it was impossible to control this energy. But surprising at this moment, he realised that he could control it.
He gradually focused on the energy and drifted it towards his hands. When the energy entered his hands, the whole wall started to tremble. Ayaan looked at the wall in surprise. Suddenly, he felt as if the wall was afraid of the energy inside his body.
Though he didn't know the reason, he became incredibly excited after looking at the trembling wall. He started to pour more energy into his hands. In just a blink, the wall separated and gave him the way.
Ayaan looked at the other side of the wall jubilantly. He didn't think that at the time of need, the strange energy would help him.
However, just as he crossed the wall, the energy again retreated inside his consciousness. Ayaan was curious about this energy. He still didn't know from where this energy was coming and how it ended up inside his consciousness.
At this moment, he looked around and found the other ladies were waiting for him. But then he frowned and a cold expression emerged on his face.
