Chapter 172 Awakening A Sleeping Dragon
Mich switches gaze from a menacing-looking Hisha staring down at what was going on the two who were oblivious to the mood of their lord.
Mich slowly made his way to Wae, hoping he could intervene since he was the closest they had to the two in the higher hierarchy of power level.
Wae adjusts his neck, stretching and watching the two with a stoic expression.
"Vanas has really done it this time." He says under his breath.
Mich pats his shoulder and has almost suffered the same fate as Vanas at the onset.
"Woah! Woah! It's me, damn it!" Mich hisses.
Wae takes a brief body scan of Mich, "what do you want? Your ass beat, maybe?"
Cautiously nodding in Hisha's direction, Wae's eyes widened in shock at the seething murderous intent from Hisha.
'Oh no!' He gasps as he traces the line of sight to the two who look as though they could start a brawl anytime soon.
"That fucking idiot!" Wae hisses, taking a step back.
A heart-to-heart discussion suggested by Hisha had suddenly turned murderous within the blink of an eye?
"Wae, you are the only one who can separate them without sustaining much damage." Mich whispers, batting his eyes and clasping his hands in a plea.
Wae's shoulder droops at the thought of separating two beasts if they were to unleash their true form.
Shaking the thought of Draegul being as stupid as Vanas, he rushes to separate as soon as possible.
Poking at Draegul's dragon scale-plated chest, Vanas couldn't help but scoff as the latter didn't move an inch at the provocation.
'Acting all high and mighty are we?' Vanas scoffs, rolling his eyes at the pompous look in Draegul's eyes.
Wae steps in between the two and shake his head in disappointment.
Momentarily taking a glance at Hisha to see him raise a brow and reduce his murderous intent at the break in the possible build-up.
Phew!
Mich had also noticed it and sat on the floor, clutching his chest at the scare.
Unpredictably having their overlord was more dangerous than his lustful self with no care about what happens to any of them.
"Vanas stand down, you had provoked him and you should be glad all you got was a punch. If you don't want to meet an untimely demise, I'll advise you to step back!"
Vanas stares down for a while, contemplating what had been said in deep thought. 'Untimely death, huh?'
Draegul let out steam from his nostril to show how intimidating he could be.
Given the fact that vampires had a disdain for anything flammable, he did that as a reminder of what he could do if it escalated.
Vanas raises his head and glares at Draegul who had a wicked grin plastered on his face, clearly enjoying the livid look on Vanas' face.
'I can wipe that stupid smirk off your face if I wanted to, you fucker!' He screams in his thoughts.
Draegul on the other hand stood quiet, his hand folded while enjoying the stare down from Vanas.
"Listen to the Lycan." Draegul taunts with a grin.
Wae winces at the reference, it almost sounded as though he was referred to as an animal in the middle and trying its best to disband the situation from two individuals.
Looking behind him, he shakes his head at the mannerism of Draegul. Through gritted teeth, he shares a piece of his mind. "Could you let me settle this amicably you scaly beast?"
Draegul let out a chuckle at the words, patting Wae on the hair.
At that exact moment, Wae felt as though his self-confidence was thrown out the window.
The pat not only crumbled that but also reminded him of their difference in height and power level.
Aster burst into laughter looking at the remaining three who weren't caught up in the squabble.
"Damn this is hilarious," he exclaims.
Wae gulps, swallows what little self-respect he could gather, and brings their attention back to what was more important.
"Lord Hisha is in our presence, use a little bit of that brain of yours!" Wae barks at Vanas first, hoping to talk some sense into his friend.
Vanas raises a brow at the tone and manner in which Wae–as a Lycan spoke to him.
"For someone lower in the hierarchy, you sure have a sharp tongue." Vanas hisses.
Wae gives a half-shrug, not bothered by his words. "You need to address how you speak or get yourself killed while learning the hard way."
Draegul nods his head, taking advantage of the situation like a pro and not wasting any moment to feel important.
"You must be feeling high, huh? I wonder if that's how you felt when your beloved Khaleesi was slayed!"
Draegul's mood instantly darkens at the mention of the name.
Hisha gets to his feet at that instant, finally seeing that as the icebreaker.
"That's enough!" Hisha's voice booms enough to get their attention.
He had immediately gotten the information on the name from HTC and realized that Khaleesi had been Draegul's mate who had been slain by a human during the civil battle before he took control of the situation.
He could excuse any form of banter and exchange of words, but that was a delicate topic that he didn't want to be touched.
As much as he would have wanted to see that shit go down between them, he wouldn't want to waste his Sux on any repairs of his throne hall.
Draegul didn't bother looking up at Hisha, instead had his gaze fixated on Vanas.
Hisha had to teleport them up the dias to have their seat in the mezzanine.
Vanas snickers at the mood his words had on Draegul.
'Maybe I was wrong to break up at that moment.' Hisha thought with a sigh, shaking his head.
To break up the eerie silence between all of them, Hisha was the first to speak and hoped that they could get all that they had stored deep within.
Although he hated them for their misdeeds, the majority of them had utilized their positions for the best interest of their subordinates.
He couldn't be at all places at once and could see the importance of having little heads over a territory.
"I would count what I had seen as a preview of what I had suggested earlier..." Hisha announces.
"With that being a bit of a grudge let out, it would be in your interests if you refrain from escalating to anything that could damage my property," Hisha concludes with a warning.
The tribal chiefs all lowered their heads in shame, no one able to speak on the issue anymore.
Understandably, Hisha clasps his hand and smiles at them all. "Let's begin, shall we?"
Pointing at Draegul, he nods for him to go ahead with his concerns.
At first, Draegul didn't respond and simply fiddled with his claws, a need to draw blood slightly eating into his thoughts as he takes a glance at Vanas who had a smirk and a wiggling brow at him.
