Chapter 74: You Have A Deal!
"I can't imagine a man as busy as you here for casual talk," Kyle said. He needed to start this conversation, but he wondered if it was because of how he dressed that they thought he was a representative.
The truth was, it was his age and that alone.
Nakamura didn't understand why someone would spend such an amount simply for someone to be featured in the movie but that wasn't a problem.
He was willing to turn the other cheek because this wasn't a big movie; this company was known for its grotesque genre, which included horror.
They were trying to break into a new market and expand their fanbase so this was an experimental project that excited Nakamura.
Calista was a pretty girl and had no problems acting the more morally depraved scenes even though there were only a few in this movie and none were assigned to the main lead.
"You're right, Mister Ky-..." Nakamura was interrupted by Kyle.
" Please, call me Kyle. We're friends here, are we not?" Kyle responded with a bright smile.
" Yes, yes we are. I want to enter a partnership for future movie production but you won't be the only one to get first pick. We get the first pick for any exceptionally talented actress or actor in your Agency…" Nakamura said.
Kyle was surprised by this proposition but it made more sense, it balanced the equation even though Kyle saw how this might be disadvantageous to his Agency. If they had the first pick of their roaster.
It meant that they not only eliminated future competition but they had the potential to monopolize certain talents in a sub-contract deal. read first at m,v,l,e,m p _y,r
This way, they would bypass the normal route it takes to acquire talent and possibly cut down on finances.
It was a smart proposal from Nakamura from a business point of view.
"That is possible but I'm afraid that these terms are not favourable for my Agency so I will allow you to get into contact with my talents first but it would be up to you to convince them to join your project. They won't be forced to, it will be up to your marketing team," Kyle gave a counteroffer that gave his talents more freedom.
This way, Distort company would have to convince his talents as opposed to being forced to.
Nakamura thought about this for only a moment before stretching forth his hand.
"You have a deal," Nakamura said.
They both knew that this in itself, wasn't binding until papers were signed.
The percentage that the JPD Agency would give them was fixed at 15%, nothing more, nothing less.
It was also a market that they were just getting into so this meant that Kyle would have the potential to be at the forefront of this department should it do well.
He would be Mr. Nakamura's go as he too would eliminate competition from other agencies.
The meeting was concluded in less than forty-five minutes, the dancing in the background was nothing short of comical for anyone who had no idea what was going on.
Kyle noticed that Nakamura wasn't dressed in a suit either, he wore something casual as well.
"My assistant will be in contact with you to finish up the legal aspect. Is that fine by you, Kyle?" Nakamura's question.
"I would have it no other way,* And thus came an end to the meeting.

Ella was discharged from the hospital and both ladies returned home from there.
Cleopatra came to the hospital to break the news of her parents passing, they had fallen out but there was no doubt that they loved her in their way.
Jane knew she had to be present, she hoped that would be enough even though Ella was putting on a brave face.
Jane knew that it was only a matter of time before she broke and this was why she couldn't leave her side otherwise she just might relapse.
That was the last thing that could happen because if she did, there was nothing that would be able to pull her out of the abyss.
This was something that Jane knew she couldn't let happen, night had come and she was thinking of taking a few days off work to look after Ella.
"Jane, come see this!" Ella exclaimed while laughing ecstatically on her phone, she couldn't believe what she had seen on her mobile device.
Jane reluctantly went over, the shouting got her attention but once she heard laughter, she knew that Ella was back to being Ella or at least pretending to be.
It was a video of a cat trying to get back into the house by bumping into the transparent door because it didn't know that there was a door in its path.
It kept bumping into it and Ella kept watching the video again and again, each time her laugh getting louder.
Jane just stood behind her, not knowing what to do with her but she had seen this too many times in movies.
A person suddenly showing signs of happiness like there was nothing wrong only to end it all when no one was looking.
Jane wasn't going to let that fate befall Ella, not as long as she lived.
-
Calista returned home after she met with Isabella, she was done with the legal aspect of her role. It was sealed in ink and there was going to be a severance fee should they try to replace her which was on the high side so it would make more sense to keep her rather than take this route.
She felt untouchable and everything was finally going right in her life, it all began when she met Kyle but why was that?
Things were too good to be true but she wasn't going to question it, she was going to ride the wave for as long as possible.
Until it threw her off, she was going to ingrain this experience into her mind.
This might have started on the wrong foot but Calista knew that what she felt for Kyle wasn't something casual.
She couldn't believe that she rejected a man such as Lucas Rossini. She and Kyle had no label so why did she feel like she would be betraying him?
He couldn't wrap her fingers around it but Kyle could, she had become the prey that sought to be hunted only by him.
