Chapter 132: Mike Vs Kyle Rematch!
Kyle managed to defeat the man but the key component to this victory was because he caught him off guard.
He timed his attack perfectly and that first blow was one the man never truly recovered from.
This allowed Kyle to beat him to a pulp and leave him in his crimson fluid.
Kyle rushed to Jane and undid her binds, this was a lot easier than he thought it would be.
But that was all thanks to being able to see her location.
Kyle realized that if he hadn't come when he did then there was no telling what this man would have done to Jane.
He thought alone made his body recoil with anger and disgust, he couldn't believe what Mike had done.
This was the last straw but he needed to get Jane out of here.
"We need to go!" Kyle ushered her but as he ran to the door, someone familiar came into view.
It was Mike with his gun drawn, pointed right at Kyle.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" Mike said.
Kyle kissed his teeth because there was no way that Mike would have anticipated his move but then it hit him.
"The car?!" Kyle had parked the car off the road so it should be difficult but not impossible for Mike to find it.
Especially if he was paying attention to his environment and this was the single flaw in Kyle's plan.
He didn't take into account that Mike would leave the place before him or pay that much attention to his environment considering the moonlight was obscured by the dense clouds.
Mike looked at his accomplice lying on the ground but the fact that the door was opened already told him what had happened.
He must have entered and tried to do something to Jane.
Mike heaved an exhausted sigh, this was becoming more complicated than it needed to be.
"What is your plan here, Jane? Did you lie to me?" Mike asked.
Kyle knew it was best to keep his mouth shut in this situation as it would only escalate the situation.
"Y-You said you would protect me… but you lied," Jane's voice was shaky, showing that the event that nearly transpired still had a solid hold on her.
Mike knew what she was referring to and it is true that he might have arrived when it was too late and ironically, owed Kyle for saving her.
"I see…" Mike said before redirecting his gun at the man on the floor and firing a bullet right through his head, killing him instantly.
"That is the fate of anyone that hurts you, Jane," This was the first time that Jane had seen a murder and more so, Mike killing someone.
The way he pulled the trigger so easily sent a shiver down her spine but she couldn't let him know.
Mike refocused his attention on Kyle with a smile on his face. He couldn't believe that Kyle had survived despite being left for dead.
It was like he was looking at a ghost but he was impressed by his resolve to live.
"I have no idea how you found me but this is perfect," Mike said, removing another gun strapped to his back.
Kyle raised a brow but his attention was on Jane.
"You said you understood, didn't you? I will hand you this gun and I want you to shoot him in the back of his head," Mike informed her, this was to test if she meant what she said and effectively stain her hand with blood.
"What the fuck does he mean by that?" Kyle thought to himself, wondering what kind of conversation they had.
Jane nodded, Mike wasn't stupid and knew there was a chance she would try to pull a fast one but that didn't matter because he was more experienced when it came to this.
There was no way that Jane would be able to pull the trigger faster than him so Mike wasn't worried.
He rolled the gun to her and she was left with a choice at that moment.
Jane picked up the gun, her hands were trembling as she raised it to Kyle.
"If she does this, will you let her go, Mike?" Kyle asked with his hands raised to show he didn't plan on resisting.
"I will…" Mike said under his breath but this was a strange question from Kyle because it showed he was willing to die for her.
"Do it Jane… Trust me," Kyle said, repeating the same words that he had told her over the phone.
That told Jane that he had a plan and she had to trust him.
Jane closed her eyes and pulled the trigger but the gun jammed, however, before Mike could process this information.
Kyle ducked out of the line of his line of sight, this forced Mike to redirect his aim but it was too late because Kyle had already closed the distance.
He used his Total Recall to analyze the state of the gun, he read up about guns when Mike had failed to kill him and knew every single detail in regards to it.
He noticed a minuscule one that implied the gun was not only old but it had a high chance of jamming.
This was a gamble because Kyle wasn't a hundred percent sure but it worked out in the hand.
He grabbed the bar he had dropped off the ground and attempted to slam the gun from Mike's hand before he could pull the trigger.
Mike, however, was no stranger in this situation and took a step back to effectively go out of Kyle's range but Kyle slammed the metal bar on his foot.
This temporarily disoriented him because he couldn't focus enough to point his gun at Kyle but a gunshot echoed.
Kyle realized the direction it was pointed was Jane, he looked in that direction but saw that Jane had already taken cover.
He grabbed the gun and a battle began to take control of the weapon, Kyle stomped the foot he had just hit to gain the advantage. It ultimately resulted in the gun being flung out of his hand, skidding away from them.
Mike punched Kyle right in the face but Kyle countered by swinging the bar horizontally on his head however Mike showed once again that he had combat experience, ducking out of the way before landing an uppercut that sent him flying into the air before landing on the ground.
Kyle was seeing double and before he could process what was happening, he couldn't breathe.
Mike was strangled and there was no way to break free from it despite fighting with all of his strength to free himself.
"STOP!" Jane screamed and a bang echoed with blood spilling all over the ground but the question was, whose?
