Chapter 98 Victory For Fools
"I've fought some crazy ass enemies, but you're one fucked up broad." Kazz growled. She had dodged the fifteenth attack in the last sixty seconds.
Despite her speed, the Ghost Cat found it exceedingly difficult to attack Minx. She wasn't on the defensive because of the Shadow Cat's overwhelming strength; she was defending because she couldn't attack!
Minx's body oozed miasma that created afterimages as she struck, which were extremely difficult to look at. It also had a track record of creating shadow clones, concealing her body to create the clones, which was equally lethal.
The Shadow Cat switched between melting into her shadow clone and melting into Kazz's shadow or the shadows around it. As a result, she was constantly masked in three directions simultaneously: both sides and the center.
It was also getting worse.
"I'd be so fucked if it were nighttime." Kazz laughed in disbelief, "I need to finish this quickly."
She jumped backward and ran into the center of the arena, trying to avoid long shadows. However, the sun was setting, and the shadows were lengthening rapidly.
If it were nighttime, Minx could become invisible and attack from anywhere.
Thud.
The tigress' ears picked up a loud thud to the left and charged in the direction, which was unnatural for Minx's silent fighting.
Kazz pounced on the sound, jumped from the position immediately, and then charged. She was certain the sound was a diversion to get her to move into her trap, similar to what the Shadow Cat used on Danny.
Minx's strategy was simple: move Kazz to an area of her choosing and then attack her there. However, the Ghost Cat was far faster, so she jumped into the trap and then moved, hoping to use the Shadow Cat's attack against her.
As expected—
Thud!
Another thud landed in the same location, and Kazz charged forward.
Whooooooosh! Boom.
A battering ram slammed into Kazz's side, sending her flying to the ground.
"Cunning bitch!" Kazz growled.
Minx used the Ghost Cat's intelligence against her. She jumped unnaturally loudly onto the ground. When Kazz jumped into the position and turned around, Minx whipped the location with her tail.
The Ghost Cat pounced, believing Minx tried trapping her, and then she charged, attacking her flank. It was the same tactic she used against Danny, but the first movement was a feint.
"Unfortunately for you—" Kazz grinned.
Whooooooosh! Boom!
Minx flew to the ground on the other side.
"You still have to attack me, cunt." The tigress laughed.
She may have been on the ground but had superior speed and strength. So when the Shadow Cat approached to attack, she used those skills to attack first.
The Shadow Cat groaned on the ground and got up as quickly as possible. She was exhausted from the fighting.
Kazz was twenty levels above her, with the former at level 85 and herself at 65. Their power, speed, and stamina weren't comparable.
So she switched between shadow clones constantly in an intricate network, constantly moving back and forth from the same location, all while attacking.
Using her cunning, strength, and stamina at full speed was taxing.
"No. I won't gamble." Minx said while gritting her teeth. Leon didn't forbid it, as he didn't forbid anything unless it was dangerous for him. Still, she felt strangely compelled not to play dangerously because of him. "Hah. Not doing it when I need it most."
BOOM!
Kazz ran to her position and rammed her again, sending her flying into a wall.
Minx chuckled bitterly. She got up and melted into a shadow, understanding that her time was numbered. So she transformed into human form under the cloak of a dark shadow.
As expected, Kazz attacked her at ghostly speed. Minx threw her pillow in front of her body right before the Ghost Cat rammed her into the wall.
A blinding golden light exploded in the moment of impact, instantly healing both women.
"It seems the fight is over." Kazz laughed bitterly. The light indicated that her attack would have killed Minx if the barrier didn't intervene.
Minx's body fell to the ground to her knees, nude, in her human form.
"For the human viewers, duly note that transformers don't have magical human clothes that materialize from thin air when they transform. Obviously." Leon said solemnly.
"So don't get it twisted. These badass women aren't ashamed of their bodies, and neither should you."
Unwilling to let the Shadow Cat be on the ground, looking humiliated [to humans], Kazz also transformed back into her human form. Now they were both nude.
"Well, that concludes it. Kazz is—" Leon began.
"I resign and refuse to accept the reward." Kazz announced loudly, walking toward the exit with a wave.
"Don't you fucking dare take pity!" Minx yelled aggressively.
Kazz stopped walking with a serious expression. "Pity? The fuck do you think victory means?"
Leon stopped talking, falling silent in understanding.
"If that pillow was a sword, I just rammed into it at blinding speed." The tigress laughed bitterly, "I wouldn't have instantly, but I sure as hell would have after screaming for 20 minutes like a whiny bitch."
"Winning is winning." Minx growled, "The only thing that matters in a fight is winning."
"I didn't say I lost, you ignorant idiot." Kazz scoffed.
"You're dead; you can't win. But I sure as hell didn't win either.
Victory is for [the living], and fighting is for the stupid. Anyone who believes there's honor or glory in battle or value in [victory] is a fuckin' idiot.
Accomplishing your task and surviving is all that matters."
After her statement, the tigress exited the arena through the gate, preventing a judgment.
Minx got up from her position and looked around the audience. She stopped when she saw the skybox, averted her gaze when she saw Leon and walked off the stage.
"There you have it." Leon laughed.
"Harem City warriors aren't stupid enough to seek battle for rewards. We're here to accomplish our objectives without mercy and won't spare a single man.
So when you show up to Tag and kill a bunch of women on day one for prizes, and try hiding on day two, remember this fight as your life flashes before your eyes.
Then spend your last moments regretting your decisions when you realize that rewards are useless when you're dead."
After a moment of stunned silence, someone cheered.
As if it were a trigger, the stunned audience erupted into feverish applause, rocking the stadium.
Leon's words reminded them that Kazz's action had intrinsic value. Once they realized that, they went wild, reviewing the recap footage on the Forbidden Library.
The battle they watched was wild. It shocked everyone to their core and filled them with inspiration.
Seeing everyone's enthusiasm, he stood up and continued.
"Due to these stunning women's remarkably practical and intelligent nature, this fight is declared a double loss." Leon grinned.
"That means that the match ended in a draw bets, gods. But make sure to send these women some gifts for their entertainment value since you didn't lose your money."
Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!
Leon followed all his harem "potentials" on Forbidden Library. Therefore, he could see the flurry of gifts the gods sent to the two.
Minx and Kazz got notifications simultaneously while moving to the stands. While they got quite a few after the match, they didn't understand why their notifications went off like a machine gun.
"I appreciate your respect for our women. For that reason, I'll continue bringing you the best entertainment the God Trial will ever know." Leon asserted with a light bow.
He wanted to declare that all gods lost the match and should give their money to the God's Association. However, he didn't want to bankrupt his degenerate patron.
Leon looked at his roster.
—
- Buff snake vs. Soldier Wolf
…
- Smash Rabbit vs. Angel of Death (Sweetheart)
…
The final match-up.
- Shiloh(?) vs. Resting Bitch Face (by request)
—
"Why did I receive an official request for this match up?" Leon asked after rereading his notes. The roster indicated that a woman named Shiloh requested to fight Cynthia.
"I don't know, but I'm interested." Caitlyn said, "I'd love to see someone pummel that elf, but there are few options."
"Ah-greed." Lindy smacked.
"You're just holding back our fight, aren't you?" Tricksie mocked, looking at the blonde.
"As much as I hate it, Leon likes you." Caitlyn replied coldly, "So I'm not looking forward to hurting you."
"Go for your life." Leon chucked. "You both have a rare opportunity to release your frustrations without hurting one another. Better now than later."
In a truly grim display, both of their eyes sparkled with love in their eyes.
He grimaced when he saw their expressions, both thrilled to get permission to kill one another with his blessing.
Leon looked at the roster again with narrowed eyes.
He raised his hand to ask for silence, and everyone calmed down, awaiting his words. His countenance and aura also gave off the impression of a Roman emperor and held the same level of respect.
"Next up, we have my sweetheart, the Angel of Death, versus Tricskie, our deadly mascot." Leon announced with a booming voice.

[A/N: Hope you're liking these women more and more. I've decided to expedite Caitlyn and Tricksie's match-up over Manka and Mirth because there's a development I'm dead-set on occurring in chapter 100. :)
The chapter for tomorrow will come in the afternoon. I've spent some time on branding; how do you like Feris? A recommendation I received early on was to have dragon women in maid suits, and I'm maintaining that promise in full during the next arc. :)]
