The pure and soft layers of white chiffon cascaded into a long gown, enveloping Elymia’s body.

The vintage and elegant pleated skirt highlighted her exquisite figure, accentuating her graceful waist, mature curves, and contrasting with her fair neck.

Elymia’s flame-like red hair was elegantly coiled behind her head, with only two golden ribbons hanging down.

She rarely wore makeup, but now, various high-end cosmetics adorned Elymia’s face, making her look exquisite and charming. A touch of crimson lip gloss added to the enchantment.

During this period, Elymia had neglected meals, becoming thinner. Despite the makeup, a hint of fatigue was evident, making the young girl appear more pitiable and endearing.

“Miss, you look truly beautiful,”

The maid who did Elymia’s makeup couldn’t help but comment as she looked at the reflection in the mirror.

Her words carried a subtle sigh that the servants of the Albione family understood well. Elymia’s marriage to Edward was not a normal marriage but more like a transfer ceremony. From today onwards, Elymia would no longer be the heiress of the Albione family but merely a bed companion for Edward.

Elymia silently looked at the mirror, at the woman she barely recognized herself to be, adorned with makeup. She clenched her fist, trying to calm her emotions.

The information in the note had a profound impact on Elymia. If she were not just an apprentice mage, the words within would have caused her cognitive collapse long ago.

Simultaneously, the deductions in the information clearly pointed to one thing: Elymia’s mother did not have an affair with anyone; Elymia was indeed the legitimate daughter of the Albione family.

This revelation became Elymia’s biggest emotional burden.

If she had known this from the beginning, Elymia wouldn’t have been so easily manipulated by her father and brother. She would have had a chance to leave this detestable mansion.

But now, it was too late.

Today, Elymia would be forced to marry Edward. After the wedding, she would have no reasonable excuse to leave the family, losing any place that might shelter her.

In a daze, Elymia recalled her thoughts about the future written during that morning meeting at the Luna Nova Magical Academy

At that time, Elymia already had a rough idea of her upcoming fate. She didn’t hold onto hope, just leaving behind her thoughts in a regretful manner.

—Find a home that truly belongs to me.

Elymia didn’t belong to the Albione family. The rest of the family considered her a illegitimate child, and she never felt any sense of home here.

Ironically, the information she now possessed proved that Elymia was indeed the biological daughter of the Albione family.

“It’s time to go to the wedding venue.”

At this moment, several maids entered the room, with Anvina leading the way.

“Finally…”

Elymia sighed softly and was about to stand up when she suddenly saw the appearance of the maid supporting her.

“Cla…”

“Shush.”

The maid placed a finger to her lips, signaling Elymia not to speak.

With complex emotions surging within her, Elymia held back her surprised words, silently standing up and following the maids out of the room.

The maid who did the makeup felt somewhat suspicious because, among the maids present, aside from Anvina, all the faces were unfamiliar. However, she didn’t dare to ask too much and could only watch as they led Elymia out of the room.

It wasn’t until about ten minutes later that the maid who was packing her things saw another team of maids hurrying into the room.

“Hey, where’s Miss Elymia?”

The lead was a middle-aged maid, glancing around the room but not finding any trace of Elymia.

“Huh? Didn’t she already go to the wedding banquet hall just now…”

The maid suddenly realized that she had been deceived!

Why did Anvina take Miss Elymia away?

Inside the Albione Mansion, in a grand banquet hall located in the main building.

The hall was splendidly decorated, filled with sumptuous food and fragrant wine. Men and women in exquisite dresses whispered to each other, and on the side, musicians played beautiful and melodious music, enchanting everyone.

It was evident that the heads of the pure-blood families were sharply divided into three factions, each at odds with the others. On the other hand, the young people they brought were engrossed in discussions about fashionable clothing or magic.

“Where’s Edward?”

The pudgy young man asked, holding a pipe in his mouth. However, there was no stimulating red powder inside; just ordinary high-quality tobacco.

“He’s in the preparation room waiting. He’s a veteran at marriage, having been through it twice already. He won’t come out so early.”

A woman with light golden curls, Edward’s first wife Isis, answered. She was slightly older than Edward and the eldest daughter of the family.

“You’re not showing any emotions, Isis.”

The pudgy young man teased, glancing at Isis’s chest. Even though she was already married, she was still at her prime, exuding mature charm.

“I won’t show any emotional expressions for the marriage of a mixed breed. Now I just want to know where Margaret has gone.”

Margaret was Isis’s half-sister, and of course, Edward’s second wife.

“Who knows.”

The chubby young man shrugged.

He wouldn’t tell the woman in front of him that he had seen the young Margaret sneak out of the banquet hall earlier, closely followed by Cologne, who had brought the red powder during the gathering yesterday. The chubby young man had a good guess about what these two were up to. He could only advise Cologne to take protective measures to avoid a major mistake.

At this mometnt, the music in the banquet hall suddenly stopped. After a brief silence, the musicians played another piece.

This piece, known as the wedding march, was solemn and serious. Typically, the melody  accompanied the entrance of the bride and groom.

At the side of the banquet hall, the door to the preparation room opened, revealing Edward who appeared somewhat disheveled.

“What happened?”

George was the first to notice something amiss, quickening his steps to approach Edward and patting his shoulder, who was being watched by everyone.

“That woman didn’t come… She was kidnapped…”

Edward whispered softly, as if mumbling to himself.

“What’s going on?”

George glanced around, the others had not yet heard Edward’s words, but there were already many doubts in the air. The only ones left unaware were the musicians, still playing the wedding march. However, the irony of the situation was hard to ignore.

Just as the entire banquet hall fell into hushed whispers, the main door of the hall was slowly pushed open. A person stood at the entrance, surveying the entire hall, then spoke.

“Good morning, distinguished lords of the pure-blood families.”

It was none other than Reiner Ian Gray.
