For now, Max ignored the loot and stars he saw inside the warehouse and headed to the second floor. He was careful not to touch the web, as it would alert the Crawler before he could even find the Infected.

When he reached the second floor, he grimaced.

"The area is filled with webs." He groaned as he looked around. "There is almost nowhere to step on."

"What about there?" Lily asked as she pointed at the boxes stacked around.

For some reason, they weren't touched by the web. Seeing that, Max and Lily had the same thought.

"It's like playing floor is lava." They blurted out, remembering one part of a reality show where Max had to test the new game with Flexy and Evelyn.

Surprised, they looked at each other and burst out laughing.

"Let's do it, Lily. Be careful. Even if the box's surface isn't touched by the web, there are still many in the air. We need to locate Crawler without touching them."

Slowly, they got up to the boxes and scouted the second floor. The limited vision made it harder. Not to mention, the warehouse itself was big. While they wanted to do it slowly, they had to move a bit faster.

Thankfully, Max had a pretty good adaptability skill which could be applied to this situation. He got used to moving on top of the boxes pretty fast and could scout faster. Lily wasn't lagging behind either.

— Damn, they are using the boxes as a foothold

Smiling, Max proceeded to the stairs where they came from earlier. This place was not that heavily covered with web, and they could always run to the first floor if it was dangerous.

And as they stepped on the steel floor again…

"I will touch it."

Max carefully touched the web, intentionally provoking the Crawler. The effect was immediate.

Creepy footsteps rang on the second floor. Max's guard was raised, and Lily was ready to shoot with the handgun. They looked around with caution.
