Chapter 351: Chapter 351 – Stopping the Behemoth [1]
"Got it, leader!" Jamal exclaimed with an excited smile. He turned to Max's character and patted his shoulder. "You're coming with me, newbie."
[Mission is updated!]
[Colossal-Class Sighting! Behemoth!]
[Colossal-Class monster, Behemoth, will destroy everything if left alone. Join the extermination squad and destroy the spike that fuses Behemoth's rock armor and its body with Jamal.]
The extermination began. Max found himself in another location. He stood on the edge of the cliff, looking down at a large valley that was even bigger than the Grand Canyon.
At this moment, he could move his body again and felt the strong wind from the valley. His hair and fur armor fluttered. Even standing still was slightly hard.
"Whoa," Max exclaimed as he stepped backward.
"That was dangerous. Be careful, newbie." Jamal spoke from behind, and Max turned around to see the yapper.
He was fully equipped, with fiery double daggers on his back.
"I know that you're curious about the Colossal-Class monster, but you shouldn't be so close to the edge. You will be able to see it once it arrives in the valley."
"I know," Max grumbled.
He wasn't an idiot who would stand on the edge of the cliff without any safety device. Well, this was a VR world, but that didn't matter.
'I only spawned there, MF. Don't tell me what to do.' He complained in his mind.
"It's good that you understand," Jamal said, nodding like a good senior. He fished out a flask from his pocket and handed it to Max.
"Everything will be so hot that it's unbearable, so take this heat-resistant potion. We will climb on top of that monster's back, kill some Small-Class monsters, and then destroy the spike connected to the Behemoth's spine. We will move as a team, though. Don't worry too much about your back. I got you."
"Thanks."
Max took the heat-resistant potion and waited for the Behemoth to appear. Just as he took it in his hand, the ground shook greatly. A loud sound resounded from the distance.
"It's here." Jamal had a strained smile as he looked to the right.
From behind a tall mountain, seemingly bigger than Mount Everest, a figure clad in rock and molting lava appeared. Smoke rose from behind the figure as it moved, burning the trees and everything in its wake.
Looking at the Behemoth that stood a bit shorter than a mountain gave Max a chill. The description was just like he knew. A creature with a gorilla's body with elephant trunk and large tusks that almost reached the ground. The way it moved was similar to a gorilla, using its legs and arms as support.
"That's a Colossal-Class monster?!" He exclaimed as he used his sword as a support to keep standing. The ground quaked every time the monster took a step. "We're going to stop that and divert its breeding ground away from Paradise Island?"
— It's beeg!
— That's a Behemoth? Holy cow! Wait, holy gorilla! That thing is big!
— Wait, how could a group of mercenaries, composed of 50 people, take down that stuff? Even the tank might not work
— This sounds impossible.
Indeed. Killing that monster was impossible. At least not with a single mercenary group. Even if they were strong and had a cheat character like Caesar, the size difference alone made it impossible for them to reach the monster's vitality.
To kill such a monstrosity, one would need to spend a lot of resources and time, bombarding it with cannons to strip its defense slowly. Only by making it die from bleeding did humans have a chance to kill a Behemoth.
"Among Colossal-Class monsters sighted before, Behemoth has the toughest defense. We will be unable to kill it, only divert its course. No matter what, Paradise Island needs to be protected. It's the source of many rare ores and materials. If the Behemoth reaches that island, everything will be destroyed."
Jamal explained the reason why they had to stop the Behemoth once again.
"After we strip it naked, Caesar will be responsible for making it walk in another direction. Our goal is to take the monster away from human settlement. If it goes to the Dark Area, that will be the best for us. It can breed and strive there without affecting us."
"That's indeed a good idea." Max's strained smile was evident as the Behemoth got closer. "If the mother is that big, I can't imagine how big the kid is. The ecosystem in Paradise Island will definitely be destroyed if that monster arrives."
— Indeed. That will be a disaster
— I am curious about something, but it's strange, but I will say it. Who impregn4te that monster?
— ^^ Precisely my question. How big is the PP to make that monster pregnant?
— Guys, your question is so strange that I didn't know how you could focus on that. Appreciate how cool the monster is!
— Ur mom is cool. I bet you also wondered how you came to this world lol
— SAVAGE!
Actually, Max was also curious about that. But Lily might have watched the livestream, so he tried his best not to ask such a suspicious question. Thankfully, the chat asked first and there was no actual answer. It was still a mystery.
'Is there a male Behemoth? Or is the Behemoth actually hermaphrodite and can make a baby without a partner? Now that's something curious. I am thinking about something stupid in the middle of an important battle thanks to the chat…'
"Newbie, here it comes. Drink the potion now and follow me."
At that time, Jamal's stern voice pulled him out of his strange thoughts. The Behemoth was already close. Just one more step and he could climb it with Jamal and the others.
Nodding, Max drank the heat-resistant potion and followed Jamal and the other four guys running toward the highest point of the cliff. There, he waited for a few seconds while hiding, waiting for the perfect time to jump.
And when it was the time…
"Jump!"
Jamal sent out the order and Max followed him. He ran at full speed and jumped without hesitation. He was so close to the Behemoth's shoulder.
And the large monster noticed the flies closing on to its body. With a glance, it raised its right hand and made a wide movement.
