Chapter 182: Chapter 182 – Stressed

Returning from the date, Max made sure that Lily returned to her home safely. When he got to her apartment, he couldn't help but be surprised by its sheer size. Not only that, she said that she and her brother lived in the penthouse, and the top floor was all for their use.

In fact, when he looked up, he could see StoneSword standing behind the glass while looking down. The man nodded his head in approval before turning around.

'I won't be surprised if she said that this apartment is theirs.' He thought internally while smiling wryly.

After saying goodbye, Max walked to his apartment, which was around 20 minutes away from there. Once he arrived back home, he immediately booted his VR capsule and livestreamed his grind, just like usual.

That night, he somehow got a good RNG and teammates, so he won all 5 matches he participated in, pushing his RP to 75/100. Just a little bit more, and he would be qualified to enter the tournament.

And a few days had passed since then. It was now Wednesday, May 7th. Looking at his progress with Midnight Heist, he was supposed to reach Tier 2 by now. However, reality said otherwise.

The good news was that the 27 grand from the ad contract had already been sent into his bank account. But the bad news was that he hadn't reached Tier 2 yet.

"Why did I get such bad RNG so suddenly?!" He complained to his viewers as he looked at his RP.

It decreased from 75 to 47 in just 4 days. His gameplay was already smooth, and there were fewer trolls compared to Tier 4 ranked games, but climbing to Tier 2 was harder than he thought.

"Is it a motivation issue? Guys, what do you think? Should I just take a break first to reset the RNG? I really want to release my stress against something right now."

— Why not?

— There is still a week before the tournament, you should be fine

— Fine? Don't you see his bad RNG?

— If you get teammates like 4 days ago, you would reach Tier 2 in no time

— Just play another game if you're frustrated!

— Any ranked game really tests one's patience. Just play another game, Breeze. It's probably just a day or two.

— We're also tired of watching the same content every day. For god's sake, you can grind offstream and give us another content!!

Not only him, but the viewers also felt frustrated. Max was a variety streamer, and he shouldn't forget about that. However, in these last two weeks, he only streamed about Midnight Heist and nothing else.

In fact, his viewers were now stuck at 8K instead of the usual 10K to 12K.

It was time to move on and only stream the game again for the tournament. That would be the best choice to retain his viewers' attention.

"Changing the game, huh? That's a good idea." He easily agreed with his viewers and moved back to his own Lobby, leaving the familiar bar of the Midnight Heist's Lobby.

Appearing in his own parkour park, he sat on the chair under the tree and looked at his streaming screen. It was only an hour since he started streaming. And because he was already used to it, he could go for another 3 to 4 hours without worries.

But… There was a problem. He rapped his fingers against the armrest and wondered.

"I did say that I want to play something new. But, what should I play?"

He opened the list of games published by Biozone Entertainment. But because it was too many, and the genre was too diverse, he had a problem deciding which game he should play next.

— Breeze, why don't you play something light?

— You have played V-Shelter Survival and Knight's Journey before, why not something similar?

— I'd like to watch you play Knight's Journey. Let's do it again!

— I recommend the game released 2 months ago! Conrad's Defense or Mercenary Quest! Both are good games.

When he was searching, he read the last chat and stopped.

"Conrad's Defense and Mercenary Quest." He muttered.

Both games were in the choice of reward from his first quest. There was no need to explain them anymore, as both were similar to Knight's Journey in terms of gameplay.

However, Conrad's Defense focused on a city defense instead of an adventure. From what he read in the forum in his free time, players seemed to have found the strategy to defend the city up to the 25th wave in the last month.

It was a strategic game. The game was about creating a defense around a fort, and the players could watch when the monster wave arrived while praying that his defense was good enough. When the defense succeeded, players would feel great accomplishment. But if they failed…

'The stress will pile up and I need to rack my brain. I won't play this game if I want to rest.'

But the other one sounded fun. Mercenary Quest, $250 in the market. It was an open-world game with freedom and a storyline to follow. Players would become mercenaries, a superhuman who could bend steel with their hand or hold their breath for more than 10 minutes.

For a relaxation game, this would be perfect. Max could channel his inner stress by killing monsters posted on the quest board, and viewers could enjoy the storyline too.

And unlike Knight's Journey, this game's opponent wasn't fellow humans but monsters. A large monster that a normal human, called Scout, couldn't fight.

"I think I have decided which one to play." He said to the viewers, grinning widely.

— Oh? Is it between those two games?

— Are you going to use your 200 IQ to try and finish Conrad's Defense?

— Damn! Which one will he choose? I am curious

— Play Mercenary Quest, Breeze! It's fun! Offer more blood to Blood God!

— I've been summoned by God… He needs sacrifice. My right arm has been screaming loudly!! FINALLY!!

— Ah, he's back. Could BloodSucker be back too?

— … I died… Don't bother me… This noble me has been given an impossible task.

"You can do it, Sucker. I trust you."

Finding BloodSucker in the chat has been rare lately because of the task he had given him. Apparently, BloodSucker wanted to give his best and even create a special effect and perfect 3D movement for the second character personally. He was working beyond his pay.

— It seems that BloodSucker is now Breeze's slave.

— After becoming his secondary pocket, now he's a slave?

— Poor sucker. Rest in peace, brother

— Blood God won't forget your sacrifice.

— So, back to the point… What game will you play?

"Right, let's go back to the topic. Because Conrad's Defense would only make me angrier, I wouldn't choose it. Rather, I will follow my instinct and go crazy in the Mercenary Quest. The opponent is a monster, right? They would be a perfect sandbag for my stress relief!"

Without hesitation, he searched Mercenary Quest and bought the game. The download process immediately started, and it only needed two minutes to install the whole game.

When it finished, he changed his stream title and immediately booted it up. Enjoy reading at m-vle-mp,yr.

"Prepare yourself, monster! I will kill you all! Hahahaha!" His body was engulfed with a blue light and teleported away as evil laughter escaped his lips.
