Chapter 133: Chapter 133 – Fine, I’ll do it Myself!
In the end, Max decided to spend $500 to change his Lobby as he saw fit. He only left a bit of grassland, a chair and a table, and the large tree from the original lobby.
Everything else was changed using custom decorations he bought from an online shop provided by a VR designer. There were various things, such as a low wall and even some interesting pillars he could buy.
After three hours of designing his new Lobby, he finally got a satisfying result. Poles, pillars, pipes, railings, staircases, slides, walls, boxes, and waterways. It was designed to be the perfect parkour park that one could imagine.
There was even an imitation of a playground near the center where the big tree was.
The ground was also made with different altitudes in some areas. There was dirt and pavement; he even imitated the roof's mossy condition in some parts.
Looking at his work, Max nodded in satisfaction.
"While there are some that can be perfected, I guess this is good enough."
If one only looked at the number of obstacles, it had more variety than most parkour parks. The best part was that all the obstacles could be used as standalone or connected to each other.
'Let's try to get some footage here. I still have around 8 hours before my livestream. I might be able to edit it myself before that too.'
He began to stretch his body before turning on the recording with a 1st POV. It was the convenience of the VR world that he couldn't get in the real world.
"Let's start, shall we?"
***
A few hours had passed since then, and Max managed to finish everything in 7 hours. It was a miracle he managed to get good footage only with a few tries.
Editing a POV video was all about a smooth transition. He only needed to cut and put the footage at the right moment, give the right transitional effect, and that was it. There was also a need for color grading, but that could be done easily with automatic color grading provided by the application.
As a result, he finished an hour before his supposed livestream.
'Let's schedule the video and have the premiere played in my stream. That might get me a good reaction from the viewers.'
A smile appeared on his face as he controlled the screen while sitting on his usual chair under the tree. It could be called the first step of spreading parkour fever in this world.
'If there are many people interested in joining me, we might be able to create a community.'
That would be fun.
The video was uploaded and scheduled without any problem. Following that, he posted on his Strike account, which now had 5,000 followers. The growth was pretty fast, considering he just created it this morning.
'Does someone share my link?' He thought curiously, 'Either way, it's good for me if my viewers and fans are really active.'
They probably were happy that he also thought of his community and created the editing contest. In fact, his only post on his Strike account, the link to the competition video, has been shared more than a thousand times now.
To be honest, he felt happy with that. His effort was appreciated by his viewers. There was nothing more than he could hope for.
'Let's post this thumbnail with the premiere link and start streaming. It's early, but it might not be too bad to chat with them before playing Midnight Heist at 6 PM. I should give fan service every now and then.'
Without further ado, he changed the title and started the stream.
[Let's Talk and Steal Something Tonight! #MidnightHeist #Talk #NewVideo #Breeze]
[Livestream Starts!]
The small camera in the VR world hovered around the area. Real-time footage replaced the usual loading screen of his stream as he controlled it to look around his new Lobby like a drone.
[Viewers: 10,627]
Ten thousand viewers who gathered after getting a notification were confused.
— What is this place?
— Is this Breeze's Lobby? It looks like it has just been through an apocalypse
— There are different things lined up strangely. What is this place?
— Boxes! I love boxes! I can hide in boxes! I will be boxes! I AM A BOX!!
— Look! Breeze is sitting under the large tree in the middle!
— Damn, only that area is green. What is this?
Max controlled the camera through the metal pipes, passing the gap wide enough that even a human could pass. He showed the surroundings and even followed the stairs that led to nothing but a tall wall.
Everything looked strange from everyone's perspective. Nothing made sense.
Who would build a wall in their Lobby without finishing it as a building? Not to mention, it had stairs leading to the top! Even if they were VR assets, getting them wasn't free.
— Damn, it actually looks cool when we look at it
— It's like the industrial age. How did he make a Lobby like this?
— This is actually nice! Ruins and industrial age. How great!
After getting a good view of everything, the camera began to hover toward Max. He sat arrogantly with crossed legs. His hands were put together on his lap like a mighty young, successful businessman.
A smug smile was plastered on his face as the camera stopped before him. The floating hologram screen that showed his livestream and Punchtube channel became a great addition to set up the mood.
"Greetings, humans from the future." He greeted them with an artificially deeper tone. He used the sound-changing application to achieve it. "Welcome to my world of fun. How do you like it? It's wonderful, no? I call this Lobby 'Parkour's Park.'"
— Parkour's Park?
— Could it be… This place is built to do that strange movement?
— Breeze! Show us some moves!
— Damn! He even made his Lobby to train. What a madlad
— I just realized it! Those are obstacles to training your movement.
— Wall, pipes, ladder, stairs… Damn, this place is like next level
— How can he build something like this? Where is the inspiration coming from?
"Inspiration?" Max repeated the chat's question and pondered for a moment, "Well, the roof of the new apartment I got from Sam's Real Estate is my inspiration. I was about to do parkour IRL, but the security didn't allow me. So I thought, 'Fine, I'll do it myself,' and changed my Lobby as such."
— Roof?
— Parkour IRL?
— Isn't that dangerous?
"It is dangerous." He acknowledged it, "I don't recommend it unless you're trained. But even then, there is still danger left."
His explanation made sense, and the chat agreed. They expressed their amazement and praised him for his talent for making such a training ground. And most importantly, the majority of the viewers were curious about how he used the obstacles for parkour.
'Just as planned.' His grin widened as he suddenly stood up from his chair.
"I guess you are curious how it looks if I do parkour in this place, right?"
— Yeah!
— Screw Midnight Heist, show us your Lobby. It's so interesting!
— Do it! Go double jump, triple jump, or wall run or anything!
— Yeah yeah, show us your movement!
"Hehe, I already guessed it."
Snap!
He snapped his finger and brought up the screen that showed his Punchtube channel. The video he scheduled for the premiere tonight only had 1 more minute before it was played for the first time ever.
The title of the video was: 'Breeze's Parkour POV! Chased by security in an industrial zone!'
"I have already recorded something for you guys. Let's watch it together, shall we?"
— WOOOOH!!
— Damn!
— POG POG POG POG!
— This guy came prepared!
— Way to go!!
"Alright." He said as he clapped his hands three times.
The countdown for the premiere started. The screen had 10 showing on it, changing to 9 a second later.
Before long, it reached 0, and the video started with the sound of Max's breathing heavily.
"Huff… Huff… Shit! They are here!"
