Chapter 127: Chapter 127 – Police! Hands Up!
The announcement of his affiliation with the Biozone didn't last long. He assured his viewers that nothing would change and the stream would be a mix of game and IRL stream like usual.
Max rested his head on his hands and squinted his eyes, his lips curled up into an evil grin.
"Moving on, I will play a new game today. It's called Midnight Heist. Hehe, I will steal a lot of money from those banks." He chuckled evilly at the camera.
— Sneaky Breeze
— Hehe, can you sneak into my room? The window is open!
— Don't do that! She has a tortu– Hmmm!! Hmph!!
— I guess he's gone. RIP
— From capitalism to robbing banks. You really love money, huh?
"Hehe, everyone loves money. Getting it from work is nice, but I want to try stealing it this time. Oh, don't replicate this in the real world. You will get in trouble."
He made sure to give a warning. So if anything happened, he wouldn't get in trouble either.
"Well, enough talking. Let's get into the game! I need to finish the tutorial before a real matchmaking. I will finish this fast."
With that, he started the tutorial. His body disappeared from where he sat and reappeared inside a facility. It looked similar to the synchronization test but more colorful and had some clothes prepared on the side.
[Tutorial will start shortly. Please enter the green zone.]
Max looked around and found the area lit by a green light. He approached it and stood right on top of it.
[Player detected. Beginning tutorial.]
[Move toward the objective.]
A yellow arrow appeared in the air, pointing at a door. At the same time, the scenery turned into that of the middle of the street. The ceiling turned into a vast, starry sky, and colorful neon lights lighted the area.
This was the first time Max found a tutorial that looked like a tutorial.
"Well, this is new. Knight's Journey tutorial almost killed me, and V-Shelter Survival just threw me into the middle of an apocalyptic city. I have prepared to be chased by the police once I start the tutorial, but I guess that won't happen, eh?"
— Both games you played before are challenging and actually not for beginner
— This is the proper game tutorial. You were just unlucky with your game choice
— Not surprising. But most games have a tutorial like this one
— Knight's Journey and V-Shelter are just different! They are designed to kill the players!
"Those games are too cruel." He shrugged his shoulders and moved to the location the yellow arrow pointed at him.
[Go to the designated area.]
The yellow arrow disappeared and appeared on the roof of a building near him. From the look of it, the building was a jewelry store, the place he was supposed to rob in this game.
Looking around, he found stairs on the back leading to the roof. It was located in a conspicuous place, glowing slightly as if it were asked to be found.
"I think I need to go that way?" He asked with a dry chuckle.
It was too easy!
'Well, it's a tutorial. I doubt there will be stairs in the real map.'
He walked upstairs slowly, not rushing in his steps. He wanted to look around as much as he possibly could. And just as he expected, this place was truly perfect for parkour.
The buildings were lined up perfectly, with only a 2-meter gap at most. With the unrestricted physical ability inside the VR, it was easy to jump over them.
Not to mention, the ventilation box and low fence allowed him to use them for some style or rolling, making them perfect if he wanted to do some vlog or POV footage.
'Yeah, I might show off a little and edit a parkour video myself if I have some good footage.'
Midnight Heist was a perfect game for his content.
Arriving at the location where the arrow pointed out, Max stood in front of an open hatch. He was made to think. Was the hatch supposed to be open?
But once again, he brushed it off because it was a tutorial.
[Enter the area and take the jewelry out.]
The game system once again gave out an instruction. This time, he was able to see a path he needed to follow in the form of a glowing light.
"… It feels kinda strange." He said as he went down the hatch using the ladder.
When he was inside, he quickly was able to see his target encased behind a glass case at the end of the corridor.
He walked calmly toward it without any repercussion or disturbtion. There were no people at all! The thief was actually walking in the middle of the street without anyone noticing.
— Breeze's brain is broken
— He seems to be bored playing this tutorial
— Yeah, thought so
— Tutorial is for a newbie! A veteran needs no such thing! Just skip it.
— He still needs to know how to use his costume ability, though. And you can't skip this tutorial
"That's true. I still don't understand how this game works besides running from the police." Max answered the chat as he stood in front of the glass case. "I just need to take it out, right?"
Extending his hands, he took off the glass cover.
Beep beep beep!
The hallway suddenly turned red as soon as he did that, and the alarm blared loudly. Surprised, he grabbed the necklace inside by instinct, putting it inside his pocket.
Police officers suddenly appeared from the other side of the corridor, complete with their equipment and a beam handgun. It was an assault.
"Police! Put your hands up and kneel on the ground!"
"Police! Don't move! Return the jewelry!"
"Police! Look backward and push your chest against the wall!"
"Police! Stand still!"
The police began to shout loudly as they aimed at him.
[Escape the police through the window!]
The game system also gave another instruction as the world stopped. However, Max had something else to say before that.
"Make out your damn mind! Should I move, or should I stay still?! And no need to shout police every goddamn time!" He retorted the NPC police's instructions.
— You should run
— lolol, that's what I thought
— A contradictory order. Tsk tsk tsk, they aren't professional
— They are NPCs. What are you hoping for?!
— Lazy AI
Even the chat mocked the game's automatic sentence generator.
