Chapter 47 The Next Match Has Begun.
Raydon sighed as he looked at Belicia, who was standing straight in front of him. His eyes were unable to keep up with her speed. These two appeared to be monsters by their own standards.
'I need more strength. ' Raydon muttered and returned his attention to Tika.
Raydon and Belicia watched as Tika gradually pushed herself out of the dent she made in the car. As if nothing had happened, she dusted herself off, arranged her uniform neatly, and said calmly.
"You really did it."
Then, the emotionless look on her face changed to one of annoyance. ''Are you really sure it's worth it? ''
Without responding, Belicia simply stared at Tika. Despite the fact that she made the decision in an impulsive manner, she didn't appear to regret it.
''You are being overly stubborn. I'm not even sure what you're trying to accomplish. Don't forget, I'll inform the family of the events here. '' Tika stated.
"I don't care. If you want to take him away, you must be willing to fight me. Of course, if you dare, while keeping in mind that we are currently in someone else's territory,'' Belicia smiled.
Tika looked startled before clenching her fists and giving a furious look at Belicia. She evidently realized that fighting Belicia in this location was a bad idea. It wasn't Belicia's power she was afraid of, but the owner of the territory they were in right now.
She spoke as she turned her attention to Raydon. ''Young master. It won't be long before I return this time, so don't worry. For the time being, I should return to inform your family of the situation, and then I will return and accompany you back to the mansion.'' She bowed slightly toward Raydon before turning around and getting into the car.
Raydon laughed as he turned to Belicia and said as he watched the car slowly pull away. ''I believe my comfortable life is about to come to an end.''
Belicia sighed as she spoke. ''Don't worry, she won't return as quickly as she promises. Most likely, it will be at least a week before you see her again. ''
After pausing, Belicia continued. ''She is not always able to make trouble where she wants. Because of this, she was unable to continue when I intervened and she made the decision to leave. However, she will return after obtaining the necessary permission from the family. ''
Raydon turned to face the street after hearing this. His cold eyes made it impossible to guess what he was thinking. ''Whose territory is this, exactly? ''
That agitated look returned to Belicia's face as she spoke. ''I'm not certain either. There is, however, an item holder here working for the one of the secret organizations. ''
Belicia looked Raydon in the eyes and said solemnly.
''There's probably nothing you can do when Tika returns. In any case, you must return to your family. I know you have grudges against them, but you don't have the power to oppose them. Don't worry, once they realize you're an item holder, they'll at least start treating you like a human again.''
When she saw Raydon nod, her solemn expression softened into a smile. ''Good, now I have to leave as well. I have other things to do. This incident is also going to give me a headache. Anyway, take care. ''
She turned around and began walking down one of the dark alleyways. As Belicia walked away, Raydon noticed that the calf of the leg she had used to kick Tika appeared bloody.
''Even my high stamina probably wouldn't have kept me from being seriously injured if I'd been the one kicked. '' Raydon muttered and turned to go up the stairs to his apartment.
As he ascended the stairs to his house, he noticed that, despite the previous noise, no one was around. This, however, was entirely normal. Since everyone who lived here was a regular person, they had no right to even be curious about what was going on among the item holders.
The strong are always right and free. Raydon was well aware that being an item holder among ordinary people gave him unrestricted authority and freedom, but this was not what he desired. He possessed the will to pursue freedom and power not just among mortals but even among gods.
And this upcoming match was the only way to make it happen.
[Time remaining for the next match: 03:56:30]
Raydon smiled as he walked through his front door, looking at the system notification. ''I'm curious what this next match will bring me.''
Raydon made the decision to use the remaining time to mentally recharge since the match was less than 4 hours away. As he lay on his bed and thought about everything that had happened today and the jumbled memories in his head, he gradually dozed off.
Raydon opened his eyes once more in response to the system message sound.
*DING*
[The next match is ready to begin. Do you want to join?]
Raydon's eyes lit up when he saw the message, and he exclaimed excitedly.
''Yes.''
And all of a sudden, the area fell into darkness.
—
After a brief period of darkness, when Raydon regained vision, he was met with a scene where everything appeared to be white.
''It's cold. '' Raydon was dazzled by the excessive whiteness and the light of the sun, and soon as his body grew cold and shivered, Raydon realized that the whiteness was snow.
Despite his high stamina, he could still feel the cold very clearly. The strangest part was that he felt the coldest in his feet out of all of his body parts.
Raydon lowered his head, looked down at his snow-covered bare feet, and cried out.
''Not again… ''
Raydon was once again standing only in his underwear, as he had done in the first game, with the exception of the gloves he was still wearing. He had completely forgotten to put on the other system items he had.
''I must be an idiot, right? '' When Raydon felt someone staring at him from behind while he was thinking, he turned around to see four people gazing at him with disgust.
He started his second match in the same way as he did in the first one.
