Chapter 341 Catching The Enemy (Part 2)

Raydon's breathing rapidly accelerated, and his body flushed red as blood surged through his veins under intense pressure. Subsequently, black flames emerged from his body, accompanied by gray smoke.

''Alright, 50% will suffice.'' He stated after adjusting the technique to a level his body could sustain and resumed his pursuit of the target.

Observing Raydon's sudden movements with curious eyes, the cat, now airborne, promptly followed suit, flying after him.

''Looks like he's really after us. His speed has increased as well. It seems he's using a movement-type skill. At this rate, he'll catch up to us in a minute.'' The investigative reptile man continued running at full speed, turning to share his observation.

''This is getting quite strange, just as I suspected.'' Another reptile man remarked upon hearing this.

Initially, he had assumed that Raydon wouldn't pose a significant threat and would eventually give up the chase. However, learning that he was persistently pursuing them gave rise to unease within him.

''Are you certain there's no one else nearby?'' The reptile man inquired, still suspicious of a potential trap set by the enemy team.

''Yes, I'm certain. It's possible that he's simply overconfident in his speed.'' The investigative reptile man replied.

''In that case, let's stop and fight. He's probably just an agility-focused item holder. Restricting his mobility will make the fight easier.'' Another reptile man suggested, coming to a halt and preparing to face Raydon, who was rapidly closing in on them.

Given Raydon's extraordinary speed, they knew he would catch up to them regardless. Instead of wasting more time evading him, it made more sense to confront him head-on and swiftly deal with the enemy before resuming their water slime farming.

As the reptile men came to a stop, they immediately began preparing for the impending confrontation. With their experience as seasoned warriors, they understood the importance of never underestimating their opponents.

''Frozen Landscape.''

One of the reptile men promptly activated his skill, transforming the 20-meter area surrounding them into a frozen terrain.

''Arctic Breeze.''

Another reptile man followed suit, utilizing his wind-type skill to intensify the cold effect, conjuring a small snowstorm that enveloped the vicinity.

''If he indeed decides to attack, this will be enough to debuff his speed by 40%.'' He declared, observing the combined effect of their two skills.

The reptile team's best hope was that Raydon, upon seeing their preparations, would choose to halt his attack and retreat. If he did decide to press on, however, the 40% reduction in his movement capabilities would pose a significant advantage for the group.

The entire team then used their support-type skills before starting to wait for the enemy to approach them.

"He's getting closer. He'll be here in approximately 30 seconds," the investigative reptile man informed the group.

Soon enough, Raydon came into view, and the others could see him as well.

"Hm? It appears he has the fire element. Taking into account the element resistance, our skill combination should still be around 30% effective," remarked the reptile man who had previously used the "Frozen Landscape" skill.

"But the color of that fire is concerning. Could it be the death element?" another reptile member added. Recognizing that the opponent possessed two elements, they realized he was no ordinary adversary.

"Prepare yourselves. I'll take the first hit," declared another reptile man as he retrieved a towering shield from his dimensional storage and positioned himself in front of the group.

Observing Raydon's relentless approach, they knew an attack was imminent and assumed their team formation with utmost seriousness.

However, it didn't take long for them to realize their preparations were in vain.

''What?! ''

The ice that they believed would slow Raydon by at least 30% began to rapidly melt as soon as he stepped onto the icy terrain. Each of Raydon's steps caused the ice on the ground to melt, rendering the snowstorm seemingly ineffective against the black flames radiating from him.

"His fire element is too formidable," cried the reptile man, who had stood ready with his massive shield, now overcome with panic.

"Glacial Shield!" he exclaimed, activating his defensive-type skill.

A thin, translucent frost quickly coated the surface of the Tower shield.

"Attack immediately after I block the first strike," the reptile man with the shield commanded through clenched teeth.

He understood that he couldn't halt Raydon with the ice element, but he aimed to create a brief opening for his teammates to launch their attacks. Utilizing the skill's effect, he could reflect 30% of incoming damage and slow the assailant by 50% for 5 seconds.

With the icy shield in hand, the reptile man watched as Raydon rapidly closed in, and finally, the long-awaited attack unfolded.

Raydon pressed forward without hesitation, channeling all his momentum into a powerful punch aimed directly at the center of the tower shield.

*BANG*

The moment Raydon's fist collided with the ice-covered shield, an incredible sound and surge of energy erupted. The black flames emanating from Raydon dispersed, instantly dispelling the snowstorm and rapidly melting the ice in their vicinity.

Due to the combined force of the 50% berserker technique and Raydon's strength of 110, he experienced a powerful recoil that propelled him a few steps back.

The recipient of the attack, the shielded reptile man, was unable to withstand the force and was sent flying several meters backward.

[Lv.29 Serpenthian (E-Rank) has been killed.]

[Your team gained 29 points.]

[You gained 5800 experience points.]

[Bonus: You gained 1015 experiences.]

"Phew, not bad," Raydon murmured with satisfaction, his gaze fixed on his skinned and bloodied fist, which now bore two broken fingers from the impact.

"Are you kidding me?" exclaimed one of the reptile men, who had been caught in the shockwave of the collision. Unable to conceal his astonishment, he swiftly rose to his feet.

"Is he dead? How high is his damn strength stat?" Another reptile man quickly regained his composure and glanced at their shielded comrade. He too expressed shock and horror upon seeing the motionless body.

Having witnessed Raydon's speed, they had initially presumed he was an agility-build item holder. However, now, in the face of his overwhelming strength, they were certain something was amiss. Furthermore, it didn't take them long to deduce that he possessed enough stamina to endure such power, evident by his minor hand injury.

"What the hell is he? A Region Boss?"

The only conclusion the remaining three reptile men could reach was that this individual could not be an E-Rank item holder.
