Godlike Player in a Game-Like World

Chapter 264 Impending Doom (Part 1)

''When we finally gathered enough courage and stepped inside, we were greeted by a world that was quite different from what we anticipated.'' After a prolonged period of walking, Samuen eventually arrived at a stop in front of something that was concealed with a dark cloth.

"A world in which it seemed as though the earth had completely deteriorated, enveloped in an impenetrable darkness, with not even a glimpse of sky."  Samuen's face contorted into a heavy frown as he reminisced about those harrowing scenes.

''Nothing could be seen in the area. No monsters, no signs of life—only an expanse of black and gray. Also, the Observer itself was not present; however, the existence that it had left behind was crashing against us like a violent wave in that broken world covered in nothingness. ''

As he continued to speak, his voice, which had been exhausted for some time, seemed to lose even more energy. The anguish that he felt at that moment was clearly visible on his face.

Samuen tried to settle his roiling emotions by taking a few slow, deep breaths before continuing. "Diam and I set out on a journey through that vast expanse of nothingness in search of anything that might help our family, even in the slightest way. ''

At that very moment, Samuen was willing to settle for any reward, regardless of its size. It's also possible that this is just an orange-grade or even a purple-grade item. After all, this strange room and the gate that suddenly appeared within it couldn't be anything but extraordinary. It had to give them something in exchange for the time they spent waiting and the effort they put in.

''And after days of suffering and exhaustion, we were finally able to discover something. '' Samuen's scowl vanished in an instant, and he said it with a smile while looking at those who were attentively listening to what he had to say.

''In this world of nothingness, where there is not even a single stone, we have discovered, unbelievably, a building that is still standing. This building appeared to be a tall and imposing skyscraper, which was completely out of place in that fallen world; however, my best guess was that it was miraculously the only survivor of the calamity that had befallen the world. ''

Samuen directed his attention once more to the thing that was covered up by the dark cloth. "Considering that this building emerged unscathed from the calamity that had ravaged everything else, we deemed it a place of significance," he explained, his voice tinged with intrigue.

"Without giving it much thought, we came to the conclusion that we should go inside. As we had anticipated, there was something within, something that the Observer was unable to eradicate or something that the Observer may have purposefully left behind despite destroying the entire world. ''

With a sense of anticipation hanging in the air, Samuen slowly lifted the black shroud, revealing to the curious onlookers what they had discovered within the confines of that enigmatic building.

Arden's voice betrayed a lack of awe as he questioned, "Huh? What is that?"

Zephyr, puzzled by the peculiar device before him, voiced his confusion, "Is it some kind of baby solarium device? " He struggled to comprehend the true nature of the object.

Cael, with a hint of exasperation, responded, "Are you an idiot? It's clearly an item formation."

The group stood in silence, unsure of how to react to this. Even though they had high expectations, they couldn't find the words to express how they felt. It was undoubtedly an item formation, but to their surprise, it was incredibly small in size.

"Indeed, this is an item formation," Samuen confirmed with a smile, his gaze shifting to Raydon, who wore a look of sheer disbelief. "It seems you are familiar with this," he remarked, noting the shock etched on Raydon's face.

Raydon's face was frozen in the same expression of disbelief that it had been in when he first arrived on this world. He recognized the object before him, and that recognition held him captive in a state of astonishment.

''How the fuck is a gaming capsule here? '' he muttered, his voice laced with a mixture of surprise and confusion.

The gray, oval-shaped pod before Raydon was no ordinary gaming capsule. It was one of the most advanced and renowned gaming pods from his previous world. Though its size seemed tailored for a baby, Raydon knew without a doubt that this was the same gaming pod he had spent countless hours immersed in. The familiarity of its design and features left no room for doubt; as a professional gamer, it was his most cherished and frequently used device.

Raydon walked up to the gaming pod and lightly touched a blue touch button on it. As the device's cover slowly lifted into the air to reveal its interior, Raydon's shock grew.

Raydon's mind whirled in disbelief as he gazed at the gaming pod from his previous world. 'Shit… This is real. How? ' he pondered, his eyes fixed on the white silicon-like structure within the pod and the ample space perfectly suited for a baby.

Raydon's expression twisted into a frown as a sense of unease washed over him. 'Damn... I have a bad feeling about this,' he muttered under his breath.

''What is that? '' After quickly getting over the shock of Raydon's knowledge of this item formation, Zephyr noticed an old and frayed-looking file on the silicone pad of the pod and asked about it out of curiosity.

The reply came from Samuen. "This is the piece of the puzzle that explains everything about his existence and how we learned everything. ''

After that, he picked up the file, gave it to Raydon, and then said. ''After reading it, you will understand everything. ''

Raydon, who was taken aback, accepted the file, and his eyes immediately fell upon the red text that was engraved on the paper that was hidden beneath the transparent cover.

<God creation project #113>

Raydon's thoughts churned uneasily as he grappled with the unsettling truth. 'I suppose, contrary to my initial assumption, my arrival in this world is not a mere transmigration. '
