Chapter 168 True Horror; A Saint Ancestor’s Nightmare 1

Chapter 168 True Horror; A Saint Ancestor’s Nightmare 1

Outside Athos, the Saint Ancestor Realm ancient Elder hovered with a domineering countenance, hands behind him as he stare down at Athos' realm barrier. The unlimited amounts of Void Beasts surrounding him and enshrouding the scene as their berating and clamorous screeching thundered the atmosphere; causing the void to assume countless cracks.

"Pathetic! So you have decided to hide in your little realm like a coward, but fate is inevitable. Attack and devour everything in sight!"

Simultaneously with the Elder finishing his words, the 'Void Beasts' wailed frenziedly as they darted down at the realm barrier. Their snake-like bodies drifted through the space with opened mouths as they aimed to destroy the realm barrier. But the instant the Void Beasts came in contact with the barrier, instead of them accomplishing their objective, they were devoured by the barrier instead.

Seeing this, the Ancient Elder frowned as he doubtfully stared at the unanticipated scene of Void Beasts getting sucked into the realm barrier, it was as if they were getting captured. With a realising expression, the Ancient Elder instinctively made unknown hand gestures as he bellowed.

"Void Domain!"

Simultaneously, a resplendent glow emminated from the Elder's body as it created a secondary barrier over Athos' Realm barrier. The newly formed barrier blocked the Void Beasts, preventing them from being swallowed into Athos.

But then, the Ancient Elder watched as the Void Beasts frenziedly expanded their frightening wide mouths and began chewing on his barrier; as he knew the ability of the Void Beasts, the Elder had a serious expression as he thought.

'What a change of events, to think that the Void Beasts ended up becoming a liability factor, how disappointing. It appears we had underestimated Athos' capabilities; but the Void Beasts being ineffective was already within our calculations, time to change plans.'

The Elder thought as he compressed his palms together, he exclaimed calmly.

"You have become useless in this fight, your presence is unneeded. Go back."

Upon finishing his words, the Elder crossed his palms as simultaneously, the infinite amount of Void Beasts instantly dissolved into the atmosphere, becoming part of what they were, the space void.

The scene returned to its calmly nature as the Ancient Elder hovered in the now empty sky alone. The overwhelming and terrifying screeching of the Void Beasts were all gone. He hovered with a calm and collected expression, but underneath his calmness was an unpleasant and resentful mood.

He had arrived with a dominant attitude, thinking he would easily destroy Athos and capture the One Above. But reality was counter responsive to his fantasy. And despite arriving with?one of the most powerful creatures in the Immortal Realm, the Void Beasts; he couldn't even make a calamitous entrance.

This self-berating thoughts lingered in the Elder's mind as he tightly clenched his fist. He villainously stared at the realm barrier below, this barrier which was able to swallow trillions of Void Beasts instantaneously. The fight hadn't even begun and yet he was already losing to a mere realm barrier.

Suddenly, a trembling occurred as the Elder witnessed a baffling scene, the realm opened when a single individual steadily emerged from within; this individual was a boy who didn't seem older than fourteen. The boy was 5'9" and had messy?hair, he had his Athosian suit with his pentagon badge attached to his chest. But what attracted the Elder's attention wasn't the boy, but rather the magnificent scenery the boy emerged from, which was the opened Athos.

With a captivated face and agape mouth, the Ancient Elder's eyes lit with amazement as he stared into this infamous realm called Athos. He saw the unbelievably massive tree which was glowing resplendent green, the solid Qi-like balls which roamed everywhere and the numerous grandiose and imposing structures which hovered around the massive tree. It was merely a glimpse, but the Ancient Elder saw all that he could.

"... This... was that Athos? How can such a realm even exist? This... the energy, it's totally different from the Immortal Realm Qi, and although a glimpse, but was the energy in solid states? Which is the purest form of energy ever known. This... changes everything."

The Elder monologued as he raised his palm to compare the Immortal Realm energy to Athos'. He still had his dazed look, completely ignoring the boy in the distance.

But then, the child-like voice of the boy sounded in the distance, bringing the Elder from his stupor.

"Hello; if you don't mind me asking, are you perhaps the Immortal Gate Elder who came to Attack us?"

Upon hearing and seeing the young and innocent looking child, the Ancient Elder frowned with confusion as he relaxed his posture. With squinted eyes, he stared at the boy as he tried inspecting with his Qi; but to his shocking surprise, the Elder couldn't detect anything, not the realm, body constitution, or soul force of the boy before him. Opening his lips, he asked cautiously.

"Who are you, child?!"

Hearing the old man, the fourteen-year-old boy raised his head high as he enthusiastically spoke.

"My name is Po, Athos' future greatest farmer!"

"???!..."

The Elder couldn't help but frown even more as he listened to the kid's words. But as if realising something, the Elder assumed a cold expression as he spoke.

"Has our Immortal Gate's influence fallen so low where a farmer boy can freely speak to me?! Boy! I ask again, who are you?!"

Seeing the sudden change in the old man's expression, the boy stopped smiling as he assumed a serious countenance. He spoke as his figure slowly rose to equal elevation of the Saint Ancestor.

"Seeing as there is no one else here, then you must be my target. My mission is simple, 'Capture and bring back the enemy, or kill upon resistance; but if you kindly surrender, I promise not to cause you pain. Do we have an agreement?"

Rage, annoyance, and irritation; were the roaming emotions within the Ancient Elder as he expressionlessly stared at the little boy before him. But grouped with those emotions was the sensation of being impressed; despite standing before a literal Saint Ancestor, this boy didn't or haven't even shown the slightest sign of fear, panic, or caution. The Elder couldn't help but admire the boy's courage. But he heaved a dejected sigh as he thought to himself.

'Sigh~ what a courageous young lad, if only he was fortuitous, he would have been this Elder's disciple. But unfortunately for him, he has to die with the One Above. Truly tragic.'

The Elder had a disappointed look as he stared at the boy, Po. He again assumed his dominant stance and spoke with a demeaning tone.

"Lad, you are millenniums too early to speak to this Elder, let alone challenge me. But for your unruly statement towards this Elder, you shall pay with your life. Ancient Golden Death Finger!"

Upon the elder's words, a thunderous shattering reverberated throughout the scene, the clouds instantly accumulated as they created a swirling storm. Simultaneously, an enormous golden finger, with the word 'Death,' written on its fingernail, materialized from the center of the swirling storm as it descended at fast speeds, this gigantic index finger aimed at one person, Po.

Po watched as the golden finger descended on him; the overwhelming force radiating from the finger alone bent space and even caused it to assume countless cracks like glass. But unlike the expected reaction from seeing such a powerful attack, Po was calm and bothered, on the contrary, he assumed a serious look as he spoke.

"Looks like I won't be bringing you alive then."

Upon finishing his statement, the suit responded to Po's thoughts as the helmet covered his entire head and face.

The white-colored eyes of the green suit changed to red.
