Chapter 126: To Battle A Devil (1).
BANG!
Cain slashed forward violently, his blade tracing complicated arcs through the air as he and the Soul Devil engaged in mortal combat. With every hack and slash of his, the devil responded with a perfect counter, almost like it could predict his future moves and anticipate them.
"Mana Blade!"
"Lightning Edge!"
A thin coating of mana, as well as slender ropes of visible electric currents, flowed along the length of his blade. Ducking under an overhead chop, he took two sudden steps forward and got into the devil's space. The Soul Devil reacted just as fast as Cain thought he would and quickly drew in his outstretched blade. However, Cain was still a bit quicker...
With the attack speed effects granted by the {Lightning Edge} spell combined with the effects of {Golden Blood}, Cain was able to match up and even surpass the speed of the Phantasma.
Twirling his blade deftly, Cain made an arc in the air that parried the devil's attack and quickly made its way to its chest.
Faster than one could blink, the tip of the blade made contact with the devil's skin. Just before he could push it in further, the hairs on the back of his neck tingled as he sensed approaching danger. Without thinking about it too much, Cain immediately withdrew his blade and moved five steps back.
As soon as he did this, the ground he occupied previously was completely shattered to pieces, with dust and stones flying all over the place.
"Did you think you would face only Lord J'orntz? Naive and foolish human!" A huge {Hulking Behemoth} said as it scraped its claws on the ground, producing sparks as it walked to stand beside J'orntz.
Suddenly, Cain felt his neck hairs rise again. There was a slight breeze that hit his neck moments before the sound of a blade whistled past his ear. He had completely dodged the sneak attack without even looking back. This was because he had his devil eyes, the {Eye of Clairvoyance}, which boosted his five senses to another world entirely.
Swiftly turning around, Cain was shocked when he found no one behind him...
´What is this? Invincibility?` Cain thought to himself as he looked all around, yet was unable to spot the devil even with his devil eyes active. The {Eye of Clairvoyance} was a skill that allowed what was hidden from his senses to become clearer and less obtuse. And yet, it had completely failed in helping find his attacker.
´Maybe it isn't a stealth skill than...' Cain reasoned as he kept his eyes open.
"Figured this wasn't going to be easy..." Despite saying this, an excited expression slowly appeared on his face. Despite his current inhibitions, he was still a battle maniac that had come to love nothing more than the feeling of dancing in the blood of his opponents as he made his way through an endless blood-soaked battleground.
"Remember... the one who kills it, is me, while its carcass is for the mother. Anything otherwise happens, and you will forfeit your lives."
An audible gulp, was heard from the {Hulking Behemoth}, Buan, as it felt the threat wash over his body. J'orntz was a powerful commander and leader, as well as the only true devil, albeit a very weak one in the entire devil army. This meant that his words were law...
"Yes, Lord J'orntz!"
Like a bullet, the devil that had attacked Cain previously sped toward him with outstretched claws;

Cain stared at the approaching devil without faltering, ´It is strong...`
Cain always had the habit of acknowledging capable opponents before finishing them off. After all, they were going to forfeit their lives for his sake, so the least he could do was show gratitude...
The {Hulking Behemoth} charged at him like a bulldozer, but he made absolutely no attempts to move away.
"Wind Sickles!"
The creature invoked a spell that showered numerous Wind Blades on Cain's body. Yet, despite that, Cain simply didn't move from the spot. In fact, he wore a slight grin on his face that seemed to amplify the anger of the devil.
"Arghh!"
With a yell, the devil followed immediately after the wind blades had been launched and rushed over violently.
Cain could also feel the threat of a blade from the invincible devil running down his spine like the grim reaper's breath, but that didn't phase him one bit.
"Hmph! Feel the hunger of the devil army, human." J'orntz said as he fired a {Soul Strike} at Cain.
Just like that, Cain was caught in a pincer attack between three extremely strong devils...
A sneak attack, a straightforward, violent attack, and an attack he had no way of avoiding or preventing. If it was someone else, they would not last the first bout of attacks.
"Heavy Armor."
BANG!
BANG!
The attacks of the charging {Hulking Behemoth} and the invincible one were instantly stopped by Cain's incredibly tough suit of armor.
"What?!" The devil's exclaimed in shock when they saw Cain turn from a human to an over 2-meter-tall metal beast.
At the same time, the {Soul Strike} of the {Phantasma} struck Cain, causing him to spit a mouthful of blood out.
"Hehehe..." With blood dripping down the sides of his lips, Cain let out a raspy laugh,
"I might be unable to do anything about him, but handling you two is a piece of cake! Ha!"
With a yell, Cain swung his arms like maces and caught the surprised {Hulking Behemoth} with a left hook to the jaw. At the same time, the other invincible devil tried to run away but was immediately apprehended by Cain before it could even take a step.
In a vice-like grip, Cain had the bladed forelimb of the invincible {Hulking Behemoth} with the metallic hand of the {Heavy Armor}.
"Impossible!" The invincible devil was shocked out of its wits. Not only had Cain broken his seemingly 'invincible', but he also had him literally in the palm of his hands...
"You might be able to elude my eyes, but perception isn't just about using the eyes..."
Cain's {Eye of Clairvoyance} was a very powerful skill but it wasn't invincible. There existed other skills that might not be as powerful, but if it is perfect counters to it. The {Hulking Behemoth} that sneak attacked him possessed such a skill.
However, Cain was able to overcome this barrier by relying more on his other senses. The skill the {Hulking Behemoth} possessed, {Cloak of the Unseeing} allowed it to be completely invincible to the eyes, irrespective of the type of skill the opponent used to enhance their vision.
However, that was all it did. It didn't block the other sense from perceiving. That was how Cain was able to detect the devil's first attack. By relying on his other senses, he was able to render the opponent's skill completely useless...
"Now die quietly..." Because he needed both hands, Cain stabbed his {Devil's Broken Claw} into the ground beside him. With one hand grasping the devil behind him, and the other stretched out due to the left hook he had thrown at the other, the only limbs he had available that could quickly retrieve his blade were his legs...
Dragging his feet across the ground, he kicked the flat of the blade that wasn't embedded into the ground. In doing so, the tip of the blade was promptly removed from the ground and the entire thing was in the air the next second.
Before Cain could bring his outstretched hand to grab the blade, he was greeted with the glint of a dark blade appearing before his eyes. In a matter of seconds, the {Phantasma} had already closed the distance between them and was already bringing its own {Devil's Broken Claw} down in his head.
'Crap!' Cain knew there was danger the moment he felt the wind of the approaching blade on his forehead.
"Art of Fire: Flame Orbs!"
With a loud yell, numerous magic circles appeared all around him like blooming petals. They quickly morphed into orbs of spinning concentrated flames before zooming off towards the Soul Devil.
Although the {Flame Orbs} wasn't enough to harm the {Phantasma}, they were able to hold the {Phantasma} back for a while.
Seeing a little bit of breathing room, Cain did what he needed to. All of this happened in such a short time, that the blade was still spinning in the air when Cain brought his attention back to it.
The invincible {Hulking Behemoth} was still in his hands, while the other one with wind attribute skills had been launched into the far distance by his punch and couldn't participate in the fight momentarily. Although the invincible {Hulking Behemoth} was powerful, a majority of its strength heavily depended on its invincibility skill.
On its descent, Cain was able to grab ahold of the blade's hilt. Cain spun his right around, bringing the devil that was initially behind him forward. Without missing a beat, the turquoise glow of the {Mana Blade} skill enveloped his sword as he drove it into the devil's back.
The sound of metal dividing flesh and bones could be heard as Cain's blade ruptured the back of the devil before him, drawing out copious amounts of blood and broken flesh as he twisted the blade.
"Arghh!" The devil let out a scream of anguish as it tried to break out of Cain's hold, but was grossly unsuccessful. It swung its other bladed forelimb at Cain in hopes of doing some damage.
Seeing this, a sadistic grin appeared on Cain's face as he grabbed onto the hand of the devil and applied as much force as he could, breaking the outer layer, penetrating the flesh, and finally crushing the devil's bones to powder.
Looking up at the {Phantasma} who now watched him with cold glowing green eyes, Cain pulled his blade out of the screeching {Hulking Behemoths} back and took a huge swing at its neck.
{Congratulations to the host... You have killed the deadly-tiered {Hulking Behemoth}, Surano... }
