Chapter 2613 Temple
Chapter 2613 Temple
Fang Heng noticed that the black fog seemed to have the intent to flee, so he immediately stopped in place and slowly took a fragment of the ice crystal pillar from his backpack.
He then began to slowly channel his mental strength into the fragment.
"Buzz..."
A faint blue light seeped out from the ice crystal fragment, forming waves that spread outward.
The black fog, formed from the Empress' will, was drawn to the light and began to move toward the ice crystal fragment.
Whoosh!
The black fog was suddenly pulled into the ice crystal, quickly traveling along the crystal and invading Fang Heng's body, directly entering his sea of consciousness!
It's here!
Fang Heng felt a chilling power invade his body and his heart skipped a beat. He immediately switched to his demonic seed form!
Having gained enough experience from the previous two encounters with the Empress' will, he was now more than ready for this moment!
Swallow it!
As soon as the broken consciousness of the Empress entered his sea of consciousness, it was met with a crushing blow from Fang Heng's fused consciousness with the demonic seed.
For a moment, the Empress' consciousness even showed signs of collapsing.
It worked!
This was the first time he had actively used the fused demonic seed consciousness to launch an attack.
With the initial success, Fang Heng quickly pressed the advantage, relentlessly pursuing the Empress' shattered consciousness with continuous strikes.
The battle resumed in the sea of consciousness. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Fang Heng noticed it.
This time, he had a much bigger advantage than the previous encounters!
The ice crystal in his sea of consciousness was rapidly circulating, absorbing the remaining energy of the Empress' will.
Outside the sea of consciousness, Kotal watched as Fang Heng absorbed the black mist. Fang Heng then stood still, seemingly engaged in some kind of mental struggle in the sea of consciousness.
Sizzle!!
After a moment, Kotal raised an eyebrow.
He saw black energy aura leaking from Fang Heng's body!
That power!
Kotal didn't dare to get too close, his expression growing even more serious.
It felt just like the Empress' power!
Five minutes passed in the blink of an eye.
The aura leaking from Fang Heng gradually faded, eventually disappearing completely.
Fang Heng remained with his eyes shut tight.
Large game prompts flashed across his retina.
[Hint: The player has successfully broken part of Empress Persephone's remaining will.]
[Hint: The player has obtained high-tier holy spirit crystal*20.]
[Hint: The player has absorbed death energy. The player gains God of the Underworld bloodline experience +2,215,000.]
[Hint: The player has absorbed death energy...]
It was over.
The Empress' remaining will was completely shattered by Fang Heng's consciousness.
The ice crystal in his sea of consciousness quickly merged and absorbed the Empress' strength.
He swallowed it all!
After a moment, Fang Heng opened his eyes once again.
Having absorbed three pieces of the fragmented Empress' will, his God of the Underworld bloodline level had risen to Level 39.
A few more absorptions, maybe two or three, and he would reach the current maximum level.
Of course, there were gains and losses.
At least, as Fang Heng saw it now, after consuming three pieces of the Empress' will, the mission to reconstruct the Empress Persephone's faction was most likely no longer achievable.
Fang Heng thought to himself for a moment, then lifted his head and looked again at the white building ahead.
"Fang Heng, are you alright?"
Kotal, seeing Fang Heng seemed to have recovered, didn't dare act hastily and quietly asked from behind.
Fang Heng, hearing Kotal's question, waved his hand and nodded, saying, "I'm fine now. It's all dealt with."
Kotal let out a breath of relief and then moved forward, looking at the white building in front of them. He asked, "Do you know anything about this structure?"
"I don't know much. I'm not sure yet whether it's related to Empress Persephone, but I personally think there's a high chance it is."
Fang Heng felt that the fact that the fragmented will of the Empress was lingering here meant this place was likely connected to her in some way.
Kotal glanced at the entrance of the building from a distance and quietly asked, "Shall we go in and take a look?"
"Mm, no rush. Let's wait for the others."
Fang Heng felt a sense of caution and unease toward the temple. As he spoke, he flipped through the stone slab in his hand.
There were no new updates from the undead council either.
It seemed they, too, had no clear understanding of what this structure was or what its purpose might be.
Still, the temple gave him an overwhelmingly dangerous feeling.
He decided that it would be safer to enter together once Commander Tigranth and his team arrived, rather than Fang Heng going in alone and risking anything.
"Alright."
Kotal nodded in agreement, and the two of them waited in place.
It took over half an hour before Commander Tigranth led his team, having cleared the surrounding Ice Crystal Golems, and gathered with Fang Heng's group.
Kotal quietly explained what he had just discovered.
The group looked toward the building with a sense of curiosity.
"We don't have much time to stay here. We won't discover anything more by lingering outside, so let's go in and see if we can find some clues," Tigranth quickly decided, signaling Fang Heng and Kotal to follow the team as he led them toward the building.
The group ascended the white stone steps leading to the Great Hall and entered.
The temple felt completely safe, with no immediate danger.
Even after entering the temple, the cold aura from the outside quickly dissipated by more than half.
Fang Heng and the others were now able to clearly see the interior of the temple.
The walls of the temple were adorned with dark red gemstones, and the interior was furnished with several altars. In the center of the hall stood a stone statue—a statue of a god.
"Sure enough... it's a statue of Empress Persephone. This place was built by the Empress herself..."
Kotal gazed at the stone statue in the center of the Great Hall, muttering softly to himself. Then, he turned his gaze to Fang Heng and asked, "Have you found anything?"
Fang Heng also focused his attention on the stone statue.
Was this really Empress Persephone?
Whether it was intentionally beautified or not, Empress Persephone's visage was nothing short of stunning. Combined with her cold expression, it gave off an intimidating aura, a sense that made one instinctively feel it was better to keep their distance.
Fang Heng walked up to the statue of the Empress, crouching down in front of it.
In front of the statue, the ground was inscribed with a large magic array.
Fang Heng inspected it briefly.
He couldn't tell exactly how long the array had been placed there, but it was at least very well-preserved.
He extended his hand, gently pressing it onto the array.
As soon as his touch made contact, the ice crystal in his sea of consciousness was triggered, and his mental strength was slowly drawn into the magic array after being converted through the ice crystal.
"Whoosh!"
As the magic array activated, a phantom of a teleportation gate appeared in front of the Empress's statue.
The group was startled by the sudden appearance of the array and looked toward Fang Heng in surprise.
"Mm." Fang Heng stood up, glanced at everyone, and nodded. "This is a short-distance teleportation magic array. The other side of the teleportation passage should be nearby, but I'm not sure what's on the other side."
Kotal quickly translated for the group, then asked, "Shall we go in and check?"
"Naturally."
After all the effort it took to reach this place, and having found a clue related to Empress Persephone, they couldn't afford to ignore it now. It was an opportunity too valuable to pass up.
Tigranth nodded, making arrangements, "We'll go first. You two wait here by the passage. If everything checks out, we'll return."
"Understood."
Tigranth, along with two of his subordinates, entered the teleportation passage.
