Chapter 132: Jael, Litha
When Jael was transported to the 'unexplored l' land as the owner called it he wondered why he was suddenly sent into the midst of monsters?
Both Jael and the monsters looked at each other with shocked expression and the silence that followed almost felt awkward as if both sides were getting caught off guard was embarrassing.
Jael put on his best smile. "I don't have assume that you guys will just let me go?"
No they certainly did not because the monsters rose quickly and growled, quickly surrounding him. They are shaped like dogs but bigger with thick fur and eyes that glint with bloodlust.
Jael transformed hand. "So we have to fight, then I'll take this as a welcome party!"
The monsters jumped him.
At the end, Jael was sitting on the corpse of thirty something monsters with his right hand covered in blood and his shining with green fire. "Let's see, they must be weak because they only provide me with thirty....four badges, one from each. Not bad I'll say, for a welcome party."
Jael did his calculations. To meet with the others will be next to important so he won't include them into his plans unless he did meet them. 'So for now, I have to focus on getting my complete three hundred badges. And I know for a fact that today and tomorrow everyone will focus on just monsters'
"But the days that follow? It'll be a bloodbath for sure as Awakeners will take advantage of each other and kill and steal." Jael frowned with a sigh. "What will I do then? Our team's strategy is to give it our best."
Jael shrugged and climbed down. "If I see the chance to reach the Title then I'll take it but if not? Then no stressing!"
He gave his surrounding a good look, it's a forest all right and the trees are so big they almost block the light from the sun. The undergrowth are sparse so it easy to walk under.
He have to map of the surrounding and he didn't want to meet any other Awakener right now. It's better he should hunt all the monsters here first.
So he put Hermit in all sensing and quickly picked up a trail of the monsters. It seems to be part of the dog like ones he just killed. And with his speed he's like a darting shadow in the forest and soon he reached the pack that made their lair in a clearing surrounded by thickets.
"Should I just attack them from my place here?" Jael thought silently to himself. "I can sense about seventy something, should I go it anyway?"
Since the monsters are not S Iron or even A, they won't give him much problems. Jael nearly chuckled at what he thought. Now he's thinking S Iron monsters can only give him troubles. Well, to be fair he's been fighting things even higher than S so he's not frightened by things much lower.
He brought Onus out. "Time to earn your food buddy."
The Onus growled at him, easily taller than Jael it was looking down at him with narrowed eyes and he smiled. "What? You think you'll just eat and eat? What do you mean I'm using your powers and so you shouldn't fight?"
The Onus grumbled but eventually followed him as they bust the monsters' lair. They weren't expecting it and even if they were it won have changed the result for Jael.
The first waa brief and the growls was loud in the forest. The monsters have no special abilities except for their fangs and claws. The Onus fight mostly with its too legs and changing gravity force around its target.
While Jael just focus on cutting the monsters in two with his sword and soon they are done. The Onus began to fish for monster cores but was soon disappointed. The monsters here in this special space don't have that.
Jael laughed, covered in too much blood. "I should feed you? But it's not lunch time... ok ok, I'll feed the two of you. Ah! I really have to bath. Let's explore our surroundings first."

Litha was unlucky. When the light brought her, it was among other Awakeners. Twenty of them was brought together in one place and the tension immediately tightened around them.
Fortunately, no one want to fight so soon to the second stage and everyone stand up once their bodies stabilize. Everyone wants to leave until one of the Awakeners noticed a small monsters hiding behind a small bush and killed it.
"Hey! See it's an hopping rat! And it immediately turn into a single badge!" The ignorant Awakener shouted, raising his hand up to show the shining metal with the dead monster at his feet.
Litha sighed. "This won't turn out well."
The remaining eighteen turned to the Awakener raising the badge high and their eyes glinted. Not because of the badge but because a monster as weak as this one can even provide a badge. And if there's one hopping rat around, there might be many others as well.
They turned and without searching far they saw the hopping rat monsters lair. Built like a termite's mold but way bigger with lots of holes.
There's must be hundreds of them in that place, Litha thought. Hundreds of free badges. But Litha hesitant to make any move because having that much badge right now will be the most dangerous thing to do.
But the others didn't hesitate, they jumped at each other and the air trembled as multiple skills were unleashed at once. Litha quickly hide herself to the side but instead of leaving the place she wait to see how everything will turn out.
Having that much badges might be dangerous but now she have to decide just how much danger she's willing to take on now. No, she have to determine if she's going to go after the title or not.
'I'll take until the end of their fight to determine' she thought.
