Global Awakening: Monster Taming Necromancer

Chapter 106: The rooms with bodies

Temur let him walk in front of him but with his weapon in rope form around his neck. They are walking in some kind of cramped hallway, the floor and wall covered in dust.

A small artifact of the bronze rank hovered above Temur, giving them soft yellow light. He growled. "If you dare and lead me to the wrong place then your death...."

Kim raised his hand. "I've lost, completely. I don't think my plan turnss in its head to bite me. Most of our forces are not here anyway and if they were... "

"I would have killed all of them," Temur said calmly. It was the truth; all of them had been infected by the poison.

Kim gritted his teeth; it was just as he suspected, but just how did they manage to poison everyone? And what of the Black Axe? "How do you do it? How do you poison us?"

Temur shrugged. "By putting it in something you all take every day, you're drinking water. The two gangs are too arrogant, you think any enemies will only attack through your gates?"

It took Jael and Temur time to come up with the plan and it was born out of pure desperation.

"That's very disappointing for a gang of assassins."

Kim flinched, and his eyes rumpled with anger; he hadn't felt this much humiliation in his life. He wanted to swing around and attack but his head won in the head. "Haha, but how do you put it? I believe it's easier for you to do with the Black Axe but Jael can't have been able...."

"Do you forget Jael's power?" Temur didn't say more than that. The onus has shrunk to the little monsters and put the poison in the water– they have to starve it of food and water for a week.

Kim paused and stopped walking. "Necromancer! But, just what kind of poison is that? It's mana-eating poison but not one I recognize...."

Temur stopped walking as well; they stopped in front of a wooden door. "Arcanixir."

Kim flinched. 'Arcanixir? How do they get their hands on something like that? Something so powerful and so expensive. So they have been planning this from the beginning and I'm just a fool'

"Hohoahaha, that kind of thing. Arcanixir is a slow-working poison. You are smarter than you look."

Temur jerked the rope and Kim hesitated just once before he opened the door. What lay behind was pure darkness that reek of blood and rot.

It reminded Temur of the chaos Cult's base on the previous floor; he agrees with Jael that they have to cut them from the root. He sent his light into the room and he wasn't surprised.

Bodies littered the ground, at least seven of them, decapitated with different methods. Blood ran free, most of it dried but a fresh one still dripped from the body hanging from the roof.

And sitting in a lotus position in the middle of the room is Arkin.

"You bastard, do you help him set this up."

Kim shrugged. "He has a peculiar taste and they are all slaves....not worth....!!

Temur was immediately beside the man, and he slapped him on the neck spun him, and slammed his head into the door frame with a solid tweak!

Temur entered the room and the light shone brighter, driving back the suffocating darkness. He looked at Arkin who was sat and calm as if there was a murderous aura coming from the one that just broke in.

"Arkin of the chaos Cult, Iron rank," Temur said, then waited for the man to speak or acknowledge him but nothing. His eyes flashed and he looked around the room.

It was brief; his eyes left the man for just two seconds, and he saw that the room was made of a solid block of stone wall with no windows and no furniture.

During just that two seconds, Arkin moved; he blurred forward and was suddenly in front of Temur, thrusting his dagger forward without making any sound.

Crack! A metal whip snapped in the air and slapped Arkin on the face, sending him flying back; he crashed into the stone wall and bounced onto the floor, landing on one of the rotted bodies.

"Huh," Temur said, even with his eyes away from his target, his senses never left him. "So you have been watching and waiting for me to make a mistake but you should know you won't be able to do that."

Arkin stood; the cloth mask on his face had been ripped away by the force of the attack. His right cheek was bloodied as the whip had stripped away a layer of flesh– it healed and created a new scar, adding to the numerous already there– and it stung.

He raised his hand. "I'm assuming you have something to do with why my body is suddenly bronze rank." He said, voice rough from misuse.

Temur shrugged. "You are not wrong."

When he heard the one he wanted was here, he couldn't believe his ears. His summoned monster will finally get into his hands! But they were supposed to bring the boy's body. What's this buffoon doing here instead?

Arkin wasn't a high priest because he was stupid after all. Immediately, something was wrong when he sensed two people outside the door, and he wanted to prepare himself, and that was when he found out his power was reduced.

He had barely been able to use the artifact that he was wearing as a shoe which grants the power of 'haste'. But this is not the person he wanted to meet. "Where is the Necromancer."

"With the black axe. He's killing them...or killed then."

Arkin laughed, his face twisting with dark glee. "You see! You see! You are not all different from us! You kill to get what you want and we do the same!"

"Ah...maybe you are right. I don't have time to talk about morals between a Chaos Cult member that kills as part of their ritualistic obligation and a regular Average Climber that was caught in their shitty plans!"
