Chapter 130: Last Auction ( Part 3 )
As soon as Shane stood up to leave the Auction hall… Four people turned their attention to his leaving figure: Natalie from the New Haven Clan, Delara from the Serene Garden Clan, Travis from Drakeheart Vanguard, and Asad or the Bidder 1102, also known as Raven Guard and the Top 2 in the Leaderboard.
These four had been observing the crowd ever since Bidder 1101 showed his incredible wealth.
After that, they targeted a few people they suspected to be Bidder 1101, and of course, Shane was one of them after noticing how calm he was and the Army Set he was wearing. They were sure that the Army Set wasn't just Tier 2 or Tier 3 with the subtle aura it was emitting. It was definitely Tier 4 or even higher.
'He left without waiting for the last item?' Travis was confused as he was already about 75% sure that he was Bidder 1101 with how calm he was and the timing that he was looking at his BidLink Communicator.
The man's sudden decision to leave had certainly confused him.
It was the same for Natalie…
"That guy is leaving too early… Is he not planning to see the last item at least?" She muttered as she felt a bit confused. Since there weren't a lot of items left, it was normal to at least stay a little more just to see what kind of item would be sold.
After all, it was normal to save the best item for the last part of the event.
This made her curious about the man in the end.
'Then… If Bidder 1101 didn't place his bid. Then it must be him.' Natalie thought as she turned her attention back to the auction.
As for Delara and Asad, they merely observed Shane's movement as if they were trying to confirm something from how he moved.
After a few moments, their eyes also turned to the auctioneer in front.
The auctioneer, undeterred by the departure of one of the day's most prominent bidders, called the hall to attention.
"We are nearing the end of our event, but not before these final treasures find their new owners!" She announced, her voice a siren's call to the eager Survivors.
"Survivors! Our next item is a marvel of survival ingenuity—the Seeker's Boomerang."
[ Seeker's Boomerang ( Exceptional ): A meticulously crafted boomerang, designed not just to return to the thrower, but to seek out targets with uncanny precision.
Effects: +60% Accuracy, +25% Range
Special Effect:
Homing Throw: The boomerang locks onto a target, ensuring it will strike even the most elusive of foes.
Stun: The boomerang stuns the target for a short duration, preventing them from moving or attacking. ]
The crowd nodded in approval, recognizing the value of such a weapon in a world where ammunition could be scarce. The bids began, each Survivor imagining the boomerang in their hand…
In the end, Borin of the ROTK Clan successfully took this weapon for 2,190 Points. To be honest, it was a very expensive price. After all, the first Flamethrower was only 500 Points.
However, in this last part of the auction, everyone who hadn't won any item yet was quite desperate, making them spend more.
Aside from that, the boomerang actually had two passive Special Effects, which weren't normally found in Exceptional Grade items.
In the end, Borin was still happy with this since he believed that it might gain more effects once he upgraded it to Master Grade.
The final item was then brought forth, a small vial containing a clear liquid. The auctioneer introduced it as the result of tireless research and experimentation.
"And now…" The auctioneer announced, "a beacon of hope in our relentless fight—the 15-Day Respite Serum."
[ 15-Day Respite Serum: An experimental vaccine offering temporary immunity to the Zombie Virus. It's not a cure, but it grants a precious window of safety. Provides 15 days of immunity to the Zombie Virus, allowing for safe travel and recovery operations.
Note: This item can not be upgraded. ]
"A vaccine?!" Travis was shocked and stood up in surprise after reading his BidLink Communicator. However, realizing that it was only a temporary vaccine, he immediately calmed his breath as he knew that although this was incredible, it would still have a very limited use.
Nonetheless, it was still something that everyone would want to have in case of emergency. powered-by-NovelFire
"So a vaccine appeared in the end."
"Maybe someone with Alchemist Talent can complete it?"
"That's a sound idea… Maybe he can make more of it and sell to us?"
"I wouldn't mind that happening."
"That's right… Since there's only one of them, I hope the winner will use it for research instead of just consuming it."
"Good luck finding a selfless person then."
"Anyway… I will take this serum and will research it for everyone's survival. Please don't fight it for me."
"Heh… I will do the same. I will also use my time to make the serum better."
A murmur of disbelief swept through the hall, followed by a surge of excitement.
Some of them even started suggesting what to do with the item.
Anyway, the Auctioneer wasn't finished yet and announced that there were five of these vials being sold!
"You heard me right! We're selling five of these vials for this final part of the auction!"
Thanks to that, the final item for this event had truly become lively.
The bidding was fierce, each Survivor acutely aware of the serum's potential to provide a much-needed reprieve.
In the end, the first serum was sold for 4,500 Points to a mysterious who had barely participated in the event. It was Bidder 2,024 and this price was certainly incredible.
The next serums were then taken by the Shadowbinders Clan, and they even announced it in public to celebrate…
The others were then won by some individuals who didn't belong to any clans at all by around the same price.
Some of the large Clans, like the Drakeheart Vanguard, didn't have the chance to take them away because they were already lacking Points at this part of the event. Nonetheless, they weren't regretting this matter deeply as the 15-day immunity to Zombie Virus wouldn't be that useful if they had an incredible stronghold that could hold back the zombies…
