Chapter 141 Skull Crusher Gang
Chapter 141 Skull Crusher Gang
Collecting his thoughts after all the answers he received from the girl that he had just saved from assassins, Xavier was surprised by her past. Her identity and how she came to be in the position she was in were like something out of a novel. However, since he had a literal system, Xavier struggled to believe that anything was impossible. Meanwhile, the history behind how the organisation she was in charge of came to be was interesting, to say the least.
-
The Skull Crusher Gang, a motorcycle gang that her father formed as a youth in the early 80s, was based in Las Vegas. It started off as a group of friends who all had motorcycles and wanted to protect their neighbourhood. Then, in the span of a couple of years, it grew into a revered gang that oversaw a large chunk of the city.
It was a rough period in which crime was prevalent, with even less law enforcement than there currently was. Gangs themselves became the law and the Skull Crusher Gang, despite its violent and intimidating name, was quite a peaceful gang.
As long as no other gangs ran rampant in their territory, they would keep to themselves and avoid conflict as much as possible. They brought around a rare age of prosperity and peace for those that lived within their area of control. It was to the point that they received voluntary protection fees from businesses in their local areas to help fund the gang and keep it from disbanding.
However, as they continued to expand and their power increased, it was difficult not to start to become corrupted. Especially in the internationally renowned major resort city that they were based in, which was known for its gambling, entertainment and nightlife.
That less ethical side of things was pioneered by none other than the brother of the gang's founder and boss. He was also the uncle of the girl that was telling Xavier the origin story. From what she said, he was much more business-minded, but also too ambitious and greedy for his own good. He'd do anything for the growth of the gang, but that subsequently caused the reputation of the gang to start to deteriorate.
They were no longer the peaceful gang they once were, and they became a gang involved in all kinds of illegal activity and conflict with other gangs. The boss's brother ran rampant, getting money, power, and influence one way or another, taking lives in the process and losing all sense of morality. It reached a point that the boss of the gang could no longer turn a blind eye to his brother's antics, even if he had the gang's best interests at heart.
However, by reprimanding his brother and even going as far as to kick him out of the gang, to try to restore order and reduce the number of those that got hurt and killed, he ended up causing a divide within the gang.
It then ended up splitting into 2 sides.
One side remained loyal to the founder and boss, who was more charismatic, upstanding, and trustworthy. The other sided with his brother and the second in command, who brought around an era of wealth, power and influence for their gang.
Thankfully, despite the separation and the 2 brothers struggling to see eye to eye, their blood tie was enough to stop them from any direct conflict.
At least for a few years.
That was until the less ethical side began extorting those that previously relied on their gang for protection and support. The small local businesses that they grew up around and those that voluntarily gave them protection fees to help them form the gang.
"He's gone too far."
"We need to stop them before it's too late."
"This isn't what we came together to do."
With that, the side of the gang that followed her father was ready to start a war between the 2 sides of the gang to get rid of them. And since the other side of the gang had spies that remained and also wanted full control of the gang, they were thinking similar things.
But before the conflict broke out, the founder and his brother met up and tried to talk things out.
It was to no avail, and they ended up getting into a fight, in which the founder battered his brother, who wasn't proficient in combat. This made it so that a war was unavoidable.
The 2 brothers saw things differently and only one could survive. However, before the war broke out, the founder had to decide whether fighting them was their best option. Losing was likely, and even if they won, casualties were inevitable.
Was it really worth it?
And he, as well as many others, had children who they didn't want to get hurt or leave behind.
Because of that, the founder of the gang, despite how much it pained him to do so relinquished his control and all that he had built. In exchange, he received a lump sum of money and managed to get his brother to spare them and allow them to leave.
-
Upon that happening, the founder of the gang split the money between all those that stuck with him. He gave them the option to retire or follow him in his next venture. He sought to become a neutral organisation, one of the first of its kind. All he desired was to generate money and give those he cared about, as well as those that stuck with him a better life.
What better way to do so than by forming a group that would buy and sell while keeping safe at a distance?
They could upsell whatever they managed to smuggle in from other countries and he had thought up a pretty sound plan. One that was safe and would allow them to generate lots of revenue as well as invest in legal assets to set them all up for life. But, despite his plans, some chose to retire from criminal activity, which he respected. Meanwhile, of those that decided to stay with him, not all were completely loyal to him, which he didn't manage to catch on to.
Those disloyal individuals revealed his plan to his brother and remained in the gang so that they could provide constant updates. It made it so that even when he tried to start anew, he still faced complications. Still managing to overcome them, the boss found that his daughter was alarmingly intelligent from a young age.
She lost her mother at a young age, which was devastating for her and her father. However, she remained jolly and wasn't intimidated or afraid of those who served her father. She also attended all their meetings for as long as she could remember and eventually began to understand things.
However, as she began to do so, everything started to go downhill. It seemed as though her uncle had come to take everything her father had built a second time. But this time it was different, as it wasn't a direct confrontation.
No amount of fighting would allow them to take over what her father had built. He had worked hard for years with those that stuck with him, and he still had some previous connections and experience. This time, in order to swallow up all that he had worked to create, they would need to have his contacts, connections, and capabilities.
And so the Skull Crusher Gang disappeared from the face of the earth.
It became 2 supplier groups.
One that supplied the highest bidder and still had power that could not be underestimated, while the other retreated into the shadows and continued to prosper.
The ambitious younger brother just couldn't allow the older brother that he had been jealous of to succeed, and those that followed him merely sought out their own benefit. Hearing that they could make more money by mimicking what their previous boss had done, they had no reason to refuse.
And so their battle for market share, reputation and revenue began, continuing even now when she had taken over after her father.
Meanwhile, it wasn't a coincidence that Xavier had considered the girl as well as her uncle's suppliers as the 2 most suitable options. They were simply some of the best suppliers available to him.
Never did he think that there was such a deep history between them that dated back decades. But since she didn't mention how her father died and what their current state was in comparison to that of her uncle's organisation, Xavier still had more questions.
And he was planning on getting all the answers he needed as well as answering most of the questions that were thrown his way. But the deeper down the rabbit-hole they went, the more emotional their conversation became and the more they realised that they were quite alike.
That wasn't to say that Xavier embraced her weakness as his own. Instead, it was to say that, at the end of the day, they were both young and had already been through a lot. However, that didn't change the fact that they still had a lot to talk about and agree on before they could reach any form of partnership.
