Chapter 323: Out of Nowhere

Chapter 323: Out of Nowhere

Drako Yau and Yip Ku-sing knew each other from the A Hundred Fights, A Hundred Wins class progression quest, having exchanged blows in the Arena. Yip Ku-sing was a well-known figure in the East, not for his strength, but rather for how weak he was despite his extravagant gear and his moronic moves. Those who had fought him knew he was totally untalented at combat. However, his top-tier equipment allowed him to tank most blows from ordinary players; losing to him was extremely frustrating.

At the same time, his lack of wits and pretentious attitude of being unbothered by worldly affairs gave people a topic of relish. He suddenly threw his sword in the battle with Drako Yau and claimed it was the technique Flying Fairy. After Drako Yau parried the flying sword, he forfeited the match out of the blue.

But this wasnt why Drako Yau had a good impression of him. When Drako Yau first met Dumbgirl, Yip Ku-sing was present as well, albeit being punched by the young girl. From Dumbgirls descriptions, he learnt that Yip Ku-sing killed those who tried to pull a distasteful trick on her, and she somehow mistook him for the evil-doer. From that alone, he believed Yip Ku-sing might be a showy guy on the surface but was a kind person deep down.

But seeing Yip Ku-sing here was an abnormal sight. What was this place? The Warring Wastelands, the highest level map currently available in the game! The Yip Ku-sing Drako Yau knew would be easily slaughtered by any monster on the map. How did he get so far through the wastelands safely, not to mention he was on the final floor of a Demonic Tower!

What about the beastmen guards outside the tower? How did he get in here? What about the trials?

While the trials werent too difficult, that was speaking from the perspectives of top players like Drako Yau, Butcherer, Chau Yu, and the others. Ordinary players probably couldnt even complete a single trial.

Drako Yau gazed at the otherworldly moron, trying to figure out what was different about him. Suddenly, he realised Yip Ku-sing must have secrets hidden behind the facade he put on all the time.

How did you get up here? Dakki asked in shock. She naturally knew who Yip Ku-sing was as well.

Yip Ku-sing spared a glance. Probably because she was a beauty, he explained, Theres a trial called Silence. I sat for a minute without moving at all and passed the trial, then I ended up here.

What? Just how easy is this Silence trial! He even skipped all the way to the tenth floor! Jeez, thats some crazy luck.

Drako Yau was in thought for a while before he asked, Why dont you go in?

Because I dont want to.

Dakki facepalmed herself. This guy is going nuts again.

Why not?

Yip Ku-sing stared at Drako Yau with a strange look as if he was looking at an idiot. I dont want to, thats it. Whyd there be any reason for that?

Then Ill be going ahead.

Sure, as you please. Yip Ku-sing nodded and walked away.

Dakki and Drako Yau saw him off the stairs, their brains still trying to figure out what just happened. Everyone would realise how great the reward for this quest was no matter how much of a moron they were! Yet Yip Ku-sing really left without any intention of getting the quest rewards!

Drako Yau felt a flash in his head. He was so close to coming to a realisation, but he simply couldnt connect the final dot. Shaking his head, he shrugged those thoughts away.

Now wasnt the time for thishe could hear footsteps behind him, and he knew who it was without even looking.

Chau Yu was frustrated by the fact he was stuck at a trial.

The trial he chose was Leap. Players would spawn on a platform and had to jump onto the next platform before they disappeared, all the way until they reached the ninety-ninth platform. He had spent way too much time on this trial. Paired with Drako Yaus good luck after defeating Butcherer, Chau Yu ended up falling behind.

Chau Yus face fell when he reached the tenth floor; the man with a crimson cloak was already opening the door.

Behind the door was a fairly small oval room covered in various circuits that originated from the rooms centrethe machine known as a photon computer to be exact. However, Drako Yaus frown was just as bad as Chau Yus.

A person was standing in the room. He greeted the three latecomers, took off the black crystal, then placed down a transparent one.

Player Hibiscus has converted a Demonic Tower into a Holy Ground and has become its owner.

The systems announcement rang in the heads of everyone in the tower. With that, things were set in stone and there was no room for negotiations.

Hibiscus smiled and said, It mustve been tough down there.

How did you get up here? The doors still closed, said Drako Yau.

He knew Hibiscus had only arrived moments before he did. Yip Ku-sing was supposed to be the first to arrive, yet he didnt seem to notice Hibiscus presence either.

Hibiscus chuckled and pointed upwards without any intention of hiding anything. Above the tower was a black crescent moon, and now that they were on the top floor, they realised the room was without a ceiling. The black moon levitated above the opening, leaving a gap enough for

You flew in. Drako Yau recalled Hibiscus ability to conjure flowers in the air.

Yes.

Hibiscus inheritance was indeed powerful. Flower Plucking Finger and its footwork Flowery Steps made him almost undefeatable. The latter allowed him to achieve the unimaginable, like now.

Drako Yau and the others had to climb the tower floor by floor, yet Hibiscus easily ignored the systems rules and reached the top instantly. Being his enemy was truly exasperating.

No matter how gloomy Drako Yau and Chau Yu were, they couldnt change reality. The translucent crystal was spreading its holy aura across the tower, causing it to morph. Even the black moon above their heads was liquefying and turning into a white cross.

On this day, the entire map underwent a drastic change.

The East and the West each seized a Holy Ground. However, Hibiscus restricted the Easts Holy Ground such that only players of Empyreon could enter.

There were two types of Holy Grounds, ones that were established by the god race and ones that were occupied by players. All players could freely enter the former, which was ruled by its founding race, to replenish supplies and rest.

Player-occupied Holy Grounds were also home to many of the god race, but they had a lot more utilities and functions available. The owner could build various facilities, such as a trade centre, shops, resurrection altar, teleportation arrays, and subclass-related buildings. The resurrection altar and teleportation arrays were undoubtedly the most valuable among them all.
