Chapter 107 Nova Force
In the cultivation world, martial techniques are classified into different categories such as Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, etc.
Within the Northern Continent, the highest martial technique to ever appear is only Gold Rank.
To be even more descriptive, there are low, mid, and high levels in between each ranking.
And the technique that Lei Luoyang had used, Nova Force, was categorized as a Low-Gold Rank martial technique.
This fact alone was enough to shock everyone in the present since Gold Rank's martial techniques are known to be kept tightly by the emperor, Zhao Tong.
They are strictly regulated by Zhao Tong and nobody is allowed to possess such martial techniques unless given permission.
"This youngster must surely be joking. How can I possibly be capable of using such a high martial technique?" Lei Luoyang laughed heartily, denying Jiang Ming's claim of his usage of Nova Force.
"Oh then please, kindly explain to us how you managed to drag your grandson backward and save him from humiliation?" Jiang Ming asked nicely.
"Uhh, this is-" Lei Luoyang was rendered speechless.
He tried to sneak a glance at Yuan Chunhua, clearly hoping that she would take the big picture in mind to intervene and de-escalate the situation.
However, to his dismay, Yuan Chunhua seemed to be in meditation as she had her eyes closed.
Meanwhile, Jiang Ming continued to pressure the topic on Lei Luoyang.
"Please Patriarch Lei Luoyang, enlighten this young and ignorant junior on the technique you did if it's not Nova Force." He asked warmly.
"..."
'Hmph, did you think you can save anyone you want when I'm here? I'll make sure to mess with you for ruining my plan.' Jiang Ming sneered inwardly as he patiently waited for Lei Luoyang's response.
Being cornered by Jiang Ming, Lei Luoyang's brows started wrinkling as he tried to come up with an excuse to reject his request.
Suddenly, Lei Luoyang recalled his grandson getting harmed by his Nova Force technique.
'Hmph, this useless grandson of mine is finally useful for once.' Lei Luoyang thought.
With a wave of his hand, Lei Luoyang quickly called for some guards, "Someone, bring my grandson to his room and call for a doctor. He's been harmed and I don't want my grandson to be injured in the slightest."
The other people within the main hall understood Lei Luoyang's thought process as they quickly stood up and began to panic.
"Quickly, come and carry Lei Huo to his room already."An elder shouted aloud.
"We already lost an heir previously. Nothing can happen to Lei Huo, otherwise, our Lei Clan is truly doomed this time." Another elder shouted, making the scene more dramatic and intense.
Jiang Ming could only twitch his mouth as he wondered just how shameless could the Lei Clan go.
Lei Huo has been injured on the floor for a few minutes already. Yet no one had voiced an opinion regarding this matter until Lei Luoyang decided to say something.
Injuring his own grandson to save some trouble and now he is using his grandson again as an excuse to avoid his questioning.
Lei Luoyang's action was truly an eye-opener for Jiang Ming.
'He had reached the apex of shamelessness.' Jiang Ming thought.
Sometime later, a group of people came to the main hall with a stretcher, similar to those used in hospitals.
With two people, they lifted Lei Huo up and brought him to the stretcher. After that, they started marching away with the rest of the elders.
"Apologies for the trouble, but I think I can no longer accommodate you for a while." Lei Luoyang showed a bittersweet smile as he cupped his fist, acting all apologetic.
"You may stay here if you want, but I'll need to check up on my grandson." He added.
And in a puff, he left the main hall as well, leaving Yuan Chunhua and Jiang Ming alone.
Of course, Jiang Ming wanted to stop him and not give him an easy escape.
However, Yuan Chunhua had sent him a mental transmission, telling him to leave it and let him go.
Jiang Ming sighed softly since all of his efforts were in vain. He was so close to catching Lei Luoyang but was forced to ignore it.
He sat back down and stared at Yuan Chunhua. "Why did you let him go this easily?"
"Because he still has some uses for us. Not to mention, beating a dead dog would only backfire. It's not worth the trouble."
"Tch, if it's like that, then why even bring me alone? To be a sitting duck? Or to be a spectator?"
"Calm down, Jiang Ming." Yuan Chunhua said. She knew what kind of emotion was going through him, but that's just how it is when politics are involved. Many things would occur whether you like it or not, and one must just learn to accept them later on.
"I know that you have successfully trapped Lei Luoyang pretty well, but like you said. If it were true that he had mastered a technique, Nova Force, then our casualties would be high if we decided to clash now."
"Just a mere Nova Force, I can easily suppress him with formation skills."
"Then what about his allies? You wouldn't think Lei Luoyang would dare to betray the Imperial Family by himself, right?"
Yuan Chunhua was trying her best to explain the situation. After all, it was her that insisted on having Jiang Ming follow her investigation to gain experience.
She stood up and walked toward Jiang Ming. She then grabbed his arms and lifted him up from the chair, directly hugging him.
"Your aunt has already told me everything regarding your change, but I just want you to know. There are always hidden dragons and crouching tigers everywhere." She whispered gently, soothing his back with her warm hands.
Meanwhile, Jiang Ming remained still as he never expected she would suddenly hug him all of a sudden.
However, he was even more surprised that Yuan Chunhua would mention his aunt, Yang Liqin.
'It seemed like my aunt had even more secrets than me.' Jiang Ming thought.
