Chapter 284: Kasmanan Family
284 Kasmanan Family
After another two hours, Alex finally came up with a plan to utilize his Arrays perfectly.
Alex used his Spatial Gate again to sneak inside the Kasmanan Family.
It took him more than three hours to place a single Jadeite Mirror Array and a hundred Fire Strings Arrays. Allex placed those Fire String Arrays in different locations according to the map: in the garden, the roof, on a pavilion, and many other places.
Because of Nicole's information, Alex didn't meet any people from the Kasmanan Family as long as he was careful enough.
"Njomo." After Alex finished his job, he called Njomo.
The dog came out of his shadow.
"Go outside the house and inform me if someone is going to find our hiding space."
Njomo didn't bark. He only nodded his head and disappeared.
Alex used his Spatial Gate to hide. He moved around to activate his Fire Strings Arrays inside that blue realm. When he arrived at the array, he just opened a little gate to activate the array.
He then moved to the second spot. Soon enough, the dark sky suddenly brightened.
The soldiers finally realized what was happening. They were shocked when they saw fire inside the mansion they were supposed to protect. They didn't even realize that there was a fire inside.
The guards were panicking due to the sudden fire. They shouted to inform the others inside the house.
"Fire!"
"Fire!"
Even the family leader of the Kasmanan family, who was cultivating inside his room, smelled the burnt scent that was lingering in the air. He opened his eyes and came out of his room.
"What happens?" He asked the panicking guard.
"The house is on fire."
"What? How can the house be on fire? Do you check the cause of the fire?"
"We still don't know the cause."
"Useless." He immediately went to check it himself.
Alex increased his pace amidst this confusing situation. The fire from Fire String Arrays was spreading fast. In the garden, the fire started burning the trees and grasses around it. In the living quarter, the fire started burning the building and made the people panic.
Until finally,
"Jadeite Mirror Array. Activate."
A huge sphere that enclosed the entire house appeared. Even a fool could realize. It was an attack on the Kasmanan Family.
It... was not the entire house, though. Alex made the sphere as small as he could, so his target would be achieved faster. After all, making a bigger sphere was the same as giving the Kasmanan Family more time to think up a plan.
In a corner that was hidden pretty well, Alex opened his Spatial Gate and came inside. He called Anna, Leoz, as well as Fabio.
"I want you three to maintain the array."
All of them nodded as they stretched out their hand to the core of the array. If people looked at it from outside, it was like three hands coming out of a small hole.
Alex then summoned Greg.
"Greg, I want you to make another barrier."
"Yes." Greg nodded his head before raising his shield. "True Spirit Body. Fortress."
Greg's armor turned to green. Alex was a bit interested in what kind of transformation Greg would have. A horn? A wing? Sadly, his expectation was betrayed. After Greg's armor turned to green like when he was using his move, there was no other change.
"You didn't have any change?" Alex asked.
"I am the same as the others, Young Master. I have changed." Greg said.
"But I didn't see any change?"
"Alex, do you forget what you see is Greg's armor?" Anna asked with a weird smile.
"!!!" Alex was startled. He indeed had forgotten about it. He had treated Greg and his armor as one thing. He thought there would be a change in Greg(Armor).
Inside his armor, Greg's human skin turned into a black scale. But all of it was covered by his armor so no one could see his appearance.
"Fortress Form First Stage, Enhanced Wall."
After Greg used his skill, he shook his head, trying to erase his curiosity. Alex then activated his Spirit Eyes to observe the scene, and he indeed saw a green barrier that appeared inside his Jadeite Mirror Array.
...
Inside the house, the people were panicking, and the family immediately convened a meeting upon the order of the family head.
His name was Willy Kasmanan. He had bright orange hair and a muscular body. After he saw the appearance of a barrier, he knew this was an attack. He immediately told the soldiers to evacuate all members and convened a meeting.
When the elders had gathered, he spoke. "This must be an attack. Judging from the appearance of the fire... the enemy should be inside the barrier. And it seems that our enemy is an Array Master. Did any of you offend an Array Master?"
He narrowed his eyes while exposing his killing intent. The elders were panicking. After all, no one was foolish enough to pick a fight with an Array master.
Of course, they didn't know that his decision on killing Alex would be the cause. The room was silent because no one thought they had offended an Array Master.
"Anyway, we will try to find the one who attacked us first. If he/she is weaker than us, kill him. But if he/she is stronger than us, try to talk about it with him first.
"Remember, if I found out that any of you are the one who offended this Array Master. You will be punished by Family Rule, which is death."
Willy said because he thought the culprit must be from the Array Master guild inside the city. He never considered the possibility of a stranger because the kingdom had tightened their security.
(AN: All of you are guilty because you agreed on killing Alex. Die!)
So, the only possibility was the current member from Array Master Guild.
"Every elder who had a water element or similar will lead the disciple to put out the fire. The others will search around the house to find this person."
"Yes!" All elders immediately disappeared, leaving Willy alone.
He put his hand on his head while thinking, 'How can this happen? Did our family offend someone we couldn't afford to offend?'
Looking at the fire that had started burning the room, he also decided to go out.
The elders were leading the disciple around to search for the culprit but to no avail. All the people who got water elements immediately tried to put out the fire. But because the fire had already spread so much, it would take them a long time to put it out.
But, it was different in Alex's eyes. When he saw the people putting out the fire with their water element, he realized he forgot to consider this factor. Killing them with lack of oxygen was indeed a good plan... if he was on Earth.
But this was a fantasy world where people had elements. Alex sweatdropped and said, "Leoz, activated your True Spirit Body. We are going inside the barrier to kill those people who are trying to put up the fire."
After all, if a portion of the fire was put out, it would give them more time. Alex couldn't let that happen as his plan might become a failure.
Leoz released his hand and rose from the ground. But he didn't use his True Spirit Body. He looked at Alex silently without moving.
"Leoz?" Alex was perplexed with Leoz's action.
"Young Master. Please don't rely on our True Spirit Body. This is our trump card. If you are always relying on our True Spirit Body, you will make a miscalculation sooner or later." Leoz said sincerely.
Alex opened his mouth. After he listened to Leoz, he finally realized. After learning about the True Spirit Body, he seemed to consider this True Spirit Body as a part of his plan, not a part of the worst possible case.
It was different. If Alex considered it as a part of his plan, when the situation turned to worse, Alex wouldn't have another trump card that could overturn their situation.
If Alex considered it as the last trump card, he would be fine even if the situation turned to worse.
He took a deep breath. He looked at Anna, Fabio, and Greg, who nodded their heads in agreement.
"Yeah, you are right. Sorry about that." Alex looked at Leoz, "We are going inside and kill the people who are trying to put the fire out. We will kill who we can kill and don't take the risk. I can confuse them with my Space Ability but prepare for the worst."
Leoz smiled and nodded. "Understood."
"Anna, Fabio, and Greg will stay here. If this place is going to be found out, we are going to move to a different spot."
"Understood."
Alex and Leoz then moved out. Alex saw five Martial Grandmasters trying to put the fire in the garden.
"Five Grandmasters," Alex warned Leoz before opening the portal.
Leoz nodded and disappeared. He went out of the portal and killed those Martial Grandmasters.
"You!"
"Argh!"
"Gah!"
Scream after scream echoed as Leoz killed all of them. After that, he hopped back in.
"I heard a scream!"
"Over there."
"We are moving."
When the people heard the screams, they immediately went in that direction. Sadly, they only found five dead bodies on the ground.
"Gah!"
"Argh!"
The screams continued in another direction, but when the people arrived, they only found dead bodies. They continuously chased the screams but to no avail. When they thought it was close, they didn't find anything except dead bodies.
"Shit. They are targeting our water element members. We are going to protect them." Willy Kasmanan immediately ordered when he found Alex's objective.
Sadly, it was too late. They had killed around eighty percent of their water element people, so it would be impossible to put out all of this fire. Alex then made a complete retreat with Leoz.
"Who is the one that is trying to destroy my family?" Willy Kasmanan was shaken. At first, he made a hard front, so the rest of the family didn't panic. But all he got was the enemy killed the family members secretly.
"Who are you? Why are you trying to destroy my family? We never offend an Array Master!" He shouted on top of his lung because of his anger.
One of the elders came to him and said, "Family head. If we can't find him, we can just break the barrier and get help from other families. As long as we can prove we are not in the wrong, then the other families will help us.
"This is a ruckus, so I'm sure the people outside have realized too."
Sadly for him. Alex didn't forget to make a Sound Insulation Array so the people outside couldn't hear them. Even if they made a loud sound, the people nearby who were inside the house wouldn't be able to hear them.
Although the soldier outside could see the bright flame, they were too far. After all, to see this, they needed to be in the sky where they could see the city completely.
That meant the only ones who saw all of this were the soldiers on the city wall or some soldiers that were patrolling. But their response would be delayed because of that, and even they came. They won't be able to save them.
He gritted his teeth. He realized he was too focused on himself to even forget about that. Because the matter was involving an Array Master, he thought about mending their relationship, especially when he found out that the barrier was a rank 4 barrier-type array.
In other words, the one they were facing at the moment was a rank 4 array master. But the thing that made him think he could mend the relationship was because there was no casualty in their side at first, aside from their buildings that were on fire. Because of that, he didn't think about this.
The only problem was Alex killed their water element members. He couldn't understand Alex's purpose.
