Chapter 164: Florida Man Escapes Prison to Have Fun With His Wife
The one year Felix expected turned into a staggering 45 years. Nearly six of those years went into completing six out of seven objectives.
While he could have achieved this state within a year, the new core technique he adopted, Essence Circulation, required extensive time to master. Adding to the delay, Singtowl introduced a spartan physical training regimen, slowing his progress but deepening his resilience.
The outcome, however, proved worth the wait. Felix could now effortlessly walk, run, eat, or even sleep in the 20X gravity field. His muscles, bones, and internal organs had evolved, adapting to the extreme environment.
As five years by Earth's standard passed, Felix had grown taller and older. The previous physique, which the age-reduction pill had influenced, transformed into the body of a young adult.
His internal energy stabilized. His mana and aura, which hadn't been converted, coursed through his nervous system to increase his reflex speed.
His heart and lungs took over the duty of producing essence liquid, which now traveled through his blood vessels and disappeared into his aura dantian, located just below his naval.
Now, Felix sat cross-legged in a relaxed posture. His back was slightly hunched while his neck tilted left, right, and forward as he dozed off.
Singtowl, who had been overseeing Felix's resting time, looked at the clock on his system screen. Noticing that two hours had passed, he pressed an alarm button, sending out an eerie piercing alarm noise.
*SCREECH*
The noise jolted Felix awake, and without further prompting, he began a burpee exercise.
Singtowl watched in silence, calculating if he should increase the training intensity. He also compared the training time counter, rest time counter, and growth graph. He faintly smiled, proud of Felix's dedication and discipline.
Believing that it was time for Felix to recover from the accumulating mental stress and fatigue, Singtowl stopped the training after Felix finished the warm-up exercise, aka 100 reps of 100 burpees.
Singtowl crossed his arms and summoned a hologram of graphs, diagrams, number tables, and various charts. He pointed at the graph, which measured Felix's stress level.
It reached 88%.
Generally, the stress percentage fluctuated, depending on the state of mind and mood. However, Felix's stress stagnated at 69% from the very first day that they had met, and it had been slowly progressing without dropping.
"Do you see this, junior?" Singtowl asked.
Felix's dull and lifeless eyes stared at the graph and replied in a monotonous voice, "It's just a number. It doesn't affect me."
"Yes, it affects you, and you are going insane. I'm going to send you back and pause our PT sessions. I'll save the remaining time so that you can return at a later date after you reduce your stress level."
Felix frowned, "I haven't completed the main quest yet. I can't return, or I'll lose everything."
"…"
Singtowl pursed his lips and sighed deeply. He tried guessing what Felix desired, "This is a personal question. You can choose not to answer it. Say, what is your hobby when you have nothing to do?"
"Seggs with my snake wife."
"…Snake wife? You mean, a real snake or demi-human with snake features?"
"Yes. I have two Lamias at home, mother and daughter."
"…Your ancestors are going to lose it if they learn of this."
"Why? Is it bad to have multiple wives?"
"No. We, phoenixes and dragons, do not follow the human race's traditions. But we're more concerned about our bloodlines. Usually, we either reproduce with selected partners of our parent's choice or an exceptional female with exceptional strength, bloodline, or DNA. Mortal females are not ideal for our partners."
"…"
"Well, I don't blame you for not knowing. It's okay to marry fellow mortals. But bear in mind that one day, your REAL PARENTS will visit you and introduce you to a proper partner to be your main wife. Anyway, I'm sidetracking enough. I'm going to send you back to your family now."
"WAIT, SIR!" Felix's eyes regained light. He yelled, "I need to learn one more skill first. I'll go back after I learn it!"
"What are the skills?"
Felix opened his quest menu and listed the names, "Metallurgy, Illumina Ball, Water Creation, or Poison Spit."
Hearing the list, Singtowl burst into laughter, "Aren't those basic spells? It only takes five minutes to learn all of those!"
"B-But those are spells from other elements. From what I heard, they require specific elemental mana to activate the spells."
Singtowl rolled his eyes, "You must have learned it from your mortal world."
"What's wrong with it, sir?"
"That information is outdated. Why do you think I had you learn Essence Cultivation? If you're missing the mana for a specific element, just substitute it with essence! Spells cast with essence are a thousand times stronger, faster to activate, easier to control, and more resistant to interference. Watch, I'll show you. To create water out of thin air, just picture the shape of the water you want in your mind and focus your essence on the spot you're targeting!" Enjoy stories on m_v lem|p-yr
Demonstrating the spell, Singtowl pointed a finger outside of the platform. Without drawing, chanting, or summoning a magic circle, a tidal wave surged, streaming out of his fingertip.
Singtowl pulled his finger back, and the water stopped coming out. He turned to Felix and explained, "That's one drop of essence! See the difference? I didn't even need those complicated spell construction, magic circles, or those incantation bullcraps! Now, you try!"
"…"
Felix raised his hand and concentrated, allocating a drop of essence to his palm. Mimicking how he cast a simple fireball spell, he imagined a water ball and conjured it.
*VROOM*
A water beam was launched from his palm. The horizontal torrent flew through the void and the flame torrent outside, traveling 100 meters before they evaporated.
The power was incomparable to what Singtowl had shown him. However, it got the job done. Jessica appeared and congratulated him.
*DING*
<You have learned a new skill, Water Creation (Entry)!>
<Congratulations! You have completed Main Quest #10!>
<You have obtained a One-Day Chrono Gym Ticket (Class D)!>
<Your max level has been increased to 50!>
Felix raised an eyebrow. He couldn't believe that he would master a new spell this fast. Astonished, he gazed at the coach.
Singtowl grinned, revealing his sparkling white teeth and fangs. However, the mouth contained two layers of teeth.
"See?" Singtowl bragged, "With a solid foundation, you will learn new skills in minutes! Instead of wasting months or years to learn one or two basic skills, it's better to get a proper education from PT coaches! Next time when you need to learn advanced spells, skills, or whatever abilities that your system throws you, come find me!"
Felix was moved. He almost shed a tear of gratitude.
"Thank you, coach! Without you, I would have failed my quests."
Singtowl nodded in agreement, "Indeed. When you got here, your foundation was so messed up. It's still not up to my standard, but it's a lot better than before. Anyway, I want you to return to your world and get a day or two of rest. Go charge your battery. When you're ready, come back, and I'll teach you basic hand-to-hand combat skills!"
"Yes, sir!"
Felix saluted like a soldier, but Singtowl raised his fist. The former awkwardly laughed and fist-bumped with his coach.
With that, Singtowl fiddled with his system screen, sending Felix back to the magic and sorcery world.
.
.
*WHOOSH*
A teleportation beacon descended from the void and landed in the front yard of Felix's house, bringing Felix from another universe. When he opened his eyes, Jessica spammed him with the updated messages.
*DING*
<You have left the Chrono Gym (Class-D) earlier than scheduled.>
<You have spent a total of 50,147 hours in Chrono Gym. You still have 480,253 unused hours.>
<A Used Chrono Gym (Class D, 480,253 Hours) has been issued and transferred to your inventory. You can resume the PT sessions by using this item.>
<You have received a new quest.>
Now, Felix had two Chrono gym tickets, one used and one new. With these, time-limited quests should not become an issue.
…
Main Quest #11 - Preparing for Upcoming Economy
You've got the basics down. But getting your physical and internal foundation stabilized should not be your only goal. As there is no telling what the demon god and other system users will do in this chaotic world, you should start gathering resources and manpower.
Let's start with the resources first. You already know how to construct oil derrick and find oil deposits, so we will not repeat those quests. Instead, you should learn to strategize the oil derrick's add-ons.
Add-ons are the crux of your resource-procuring buildings. It can either serve as your extra inventory slots or your automatic factories, depending on your designs.
As usual, this quest is time-limited.
Mission - Complete the following objectives:
1. Construct three resource-gathering system structures, warehouse, and storehouse excluded.
2. Construct six of any resource-gathering system structure add-ons.
Rewards:
- Permanently increase familiar slots by one, not including the leveling bonus.
- One Dim Philosopher Stone
- Super Democracy Pass (Class C)
Time Limit: 10 Days
…
Different from what Felix had predicted, the quest focused on resources and system buildings this time, which brought a new problem. Felix only possessed two strategic resources, aka the two oil deposits. Finding another one might be a time-consuming issue.
Without time to rest, Felix entered his house, hoping to find Diana or Jiji inside.
He wasn't disappointed. Upon entering the house, Felix found Jiji in a maid outfit, which Felix didn't remember buying her one.
The uniform belonged to the sexy type, which was commonly used in pornography. The skirt was extra short, and the upper part revealed 80% of her skin, except the tips of the mountains.
It was practically a maid bikini uniform!
The graceful lamia stood on her snake tail, folding her hands on her naval. She brightly smiled, "Welcome home master. Would you like the dinner first, or bath, or me? Oh, by the way, you look….older."
Felix sighed deeply. He stripped his clothes without hesitation.
"I'll take you in the bath for dinner!"
