Chapter 96: A Priestess From Colzen Monastery
Those in the top twenty didn't have any problem with the requirements of this level because even though they might not be able to do it right now, in just a few months, they would be able to accomplish it.
As for Shye, these kinds of requirements were considered nothing because killing (D-) ranked creatures was simply too easy for him now and only the apex (D) ranked creatures inside the intermediate adventurer zone posed a threat to his life.
After giving the class a short overview of what to expect as junior students, Instructor Fienna signaled everyone to follow her to the training grounds for another combat training session but this time, it would be way harder compared to when they were sophomores.
Of course, Instructor Fienna knew that Shye had better things to do than participate in the combat training session so she signaled him that he could leave whenever he wanted.
Shye gave Instructor Fienna a sincere bow before going off on his own.
He planned to go to the quest hall to complete his requirements early so that he would be free to do anything he wanted in the latter part of the school year.
On the way, he didn't forget to use appraisal on literally everything and everyone to level it up to level three as soon as possible.
What he didn't expect was, when he arrived in front of the quest hall, he suddenly suffered from a huge headache followed by a notification.
[Congratulations! Your intelligence attribute leveled up from 15 >> 16]
"Ughhh..What the hell?"
Shye was confused, he had absolutely no clue about what was happening to him. Five seconds ago he suddenly had a major headache but now, it's gone and his intelligence attribute leveled up?
What the hell is happening? Is there a connection between [Appraisal] and [Intelligence]?
Does improving the intelligence attribute benefit a warrior-class adventurer?
Such questions suddenly started popping up in his mind.
He had neglected the [Intelligence] and [Wisdom] attributes because the warrior course instructors always lectured them about strength, hand dexterity, speed, footwork, stamina, and physique.
However, after what happened just now, he was forced to finally look at these two attributes closely.
He occasionally gets some intelligence and wisdom level-up notifications whenever he learns something important in class but apart from that, he basically ignored them.
Shye made a mental note to explore these two attributes in depth in the future but for now, he decided to enter the quest hall and receive his junior requirement quests first because...He was starting to look like a weirdo again while loitering at the entrance of the quest hall.
Once he was done receiving all the junior requirement quests he could finish alone, Shye left the quest hall and headed toward the intermediate adventurer zone.
…
…
…
Two and a half days passed since Shye took all the solo junior student requirement quests in the quest hall and he was currently in the middle of completing his fifth quest.
He was now pretty deep inside the intermediate adventurer zone but he was already accustomed to it by now so even though he was alone, there were no problems at all.
*SPURT*
*THUD*
Blood sprayed through the air as the head of a (D-) ranked creature, the Icefire Salamander, separated from its body and fell to the ground with a thud.
"Phew…Two more quests and my solo requirements are done…"
Shye thought to himself as he wiped the sweat off his forehead after another successful kill.
He then took out a cold beverage from his inventory to rest and chill for a bit when suddenly, the tall bushes right beside him started rustling.
Shye's eyes narrowed into slits as he returned the cold beverage to the inventory and quickly assumed his battle stance.
However, his eyes widened because instead of an angry creature charging at him, a battered and bruised beautiful woman holding a life staff charged out of the shrubbery.
'Hmm? A Priestess?'
The woman was a little bit shorter than Shye, had long blue hair, ice-cold blue eyes, a fairly toned body, huge breasts, and beautiful facial features comparable to those of an ice fairy.
Of course, her fairly athletic body wasn't comparable to Shirley's since she was an actual warrior student but she looked very fit and athletic for a priestess student.
Upon closer look, Shye noticed that she was wearing a third-year Colzen Monastery priestess student uniform which made him confused because from what he knew, only fourth-year students were allowed to leave the Colzen Monastery.
The priestess student from Colzen Monastery seemed to be running away from something and sure enough, only a few seconds after the priestess passed by, a raging Steelfeather Ostrich came out of the bushes and madly darted towards the fleeing priestess.
It looked so furious and determined to end her life.
Of course, Shye wouldn't let a fellow student die so easily so he followed the two of them in an attempt to save the priestess from the ostrich.
Upon realizing that the ostrich was having a hard time catching up to the priestess, Shye was surprised.
One wouldn't expect that a priestess would be so fast at running away.
Unfortunately, she was still slower than the ostrich so after a few more seconds, the Steelfeather Ostrich finally caught up to her.
Shye's eyes widened after seeing the ridiculous scene that happened next.
*WHACK*
The priestess, who should be using her life staff to cast support-type skills, held it like a baseball bat and used it to whack the shit out of the ostrich's head.
Shockingly, the ostrich was sent flying backward towards Shye like a huge feathery ball.
Fortunately, Shye was quickly able to snap out of his stupor, draw his greatsword, and slash the Steelfeather Ostrich in half.
Upon realization of what happened, the Colzen Monastery priestess student stopped running, turned around, and walked towards Shye.
She then stopped in front of him and said :
"Thanks for helping me, I shall give you one ostrich egg as a reward" with a reluctant look on her face.
Shye almost choked on his saliva after hearing what the priestess said.
He couldn't believe that a third-year priestess, who shouldn't even be in the intermediate adventurer zone in the first place, would act like a thief and steal a few eggs from a Steelfeather Ostrich.
