Chapter 68: Skills and Elixirs for the Beloved Little Sister
Chapter 68: Skills and Elixirs for the Beloved Little Sister
"Haaah...Haaah...I still...Haaah...Can't...Win..."
Maia said with a smile on her face as she lay on the ground, thoroughly beaten up by her big brother.
"If you could beat me right now then that would be too embarrassing for me wouldn't it?"
Shye smiled and thought to himself as he took out another lesser health potion for Maia.
After seven rounds of sparring, Shye fully understood Maia's current capabilities.
She was about as strong as Alexander Smith when the two of them fought during the entrance examination.
However, the fact that Maia managed to become this strong one year earlier than Alexander Smith without any sort of guidance from anyone proved her overwhelming talent.
If Shye didn't have the Flashy Adventurer System, then Maia would probably be able to catch up to him in a few years. It seems that she was even more talented than their mother.
However, although her current progress satisfied him, it wasn't enough for her to achieve a high rank during the assessment one year from now.
Thus, Shye decided to properly think about what skill combinations would suit her fighting style and which elixirs would help her grow the fastest.
She already had the best possible attitude of an adventurer anyway so as long as she could raise her strength, she was bound to achieve something in life.
Maia wanted to continue sparring with her big brother but unfortunately, their time was up and since Shye already got the information that he needed from Maia, there was no point in continuing for now.
The siblings didn't wait for the staff and left the establishment a few minutes before their time was up.
Since Maia got beaten up pretty badly today, Shye decided to have lunch together with her in a fancy restaurant to cheer her up even though she was obviously happy even after losing seven rounds of sparring against her big brother.
He didn't hold back at all and ordered everything that Maia wanted since they could just request the restaurant staff members to pack the food if they couldn't finish it anyway so there was no problem ordering a few extra dishes in exchange for his little sister's smiling face.
After waiting for a few minutes, seafood dishes, meat dishes, vegetables, rice, and a sweet dessert were served on their table which made Maia's eyes sparkle in delight.
"Thank you for the food!"
...
...
The two of them went back to the dormitory after a fantastic meal at a fancy restaurant and to Shye's surprise, the two of them managed to finish everything that they ordered even though it looked a bit too excessive at the beginning.
Once they returned to the dormitory, Maia felt sleepy and immediately went back to her room to rest. It seems that she underestimated the fatigue of engaging in seven straight sparring sessions.
Not to mention, she was beaten up pretty badly every time.
As for Shye, he returned to his room to ponder and purchase everything that Maia needed to achieve a high rank in the Colzen Adventurer Academy entrance exam one year from now.
After hours of thorough consideration, Shye purchased two skills for Maia which cost him 1000 points.
He wanted to purchase three skills for her but unfortunately, his points weren't enough for now. In addition to this, he still had to purchase elixirs for Maia so he decided to purchase two skills for now.
The skills he chose were [Blink Strike Lv.1] and [Footwork Lv.1]. Shye believes that these two skills would complement his little sister's way too aggressive fighting style and would help her achieve a high rank in the third assessment of the entrance exam.
There was still one skill he wanted to purchase for her and he still had one more year so he could probably purchase it before Maia's entrance exam.
After spending all his points purchasing skill books and elixirs, Shye went to sleep.
Tomorrow was a big day not only for him but also for the entire Colzen Adventurer Academy.
This is because tomorrow, the chosen participants for the Adventurer Academy Competition will be announced.
In addition to this, a few people from each year level would be chosen to accompany the participants to expand their horizons and gain a bit of experience.
Of course, the few people who will be chosen by the academy are those who have the skills to be future participants in the said competition.
After a good night's sleep, Shye excitedly went to school.
Although he had the class exemption pass, he decided to go to school today because not only did he want to know who the chosen fourth-year students were, but he was also expecting that his name would be called as one of the chosen first-year students who would accompany the participants to watch the said event.
