Flashy Adventurer System : Show Off to Get Stronger!

Chapter 284: Mamba Out

"Hehehe, when I get my hands on you…"

As the scorching golden rays of sunlight illuminated Blackburrow City, a man in his 30s walked quickly with a clear destination in mind.

After settling accounts with his insider agent, Porz, Larzen immediately walked towards the location Summer informed him of, eager to torture the bastard who repeatedly made things difficult for him in the auction.

He was sure that his underlings would easily subdue the darned individual.

Arriving at Thames Street, he enthusiastically walked towards the second alleyway, looking around for a few seconds before decisively entering.

"Ray, where's the basta–." Larzen eagerly spoke, only to be dumbfounded by the harrowing scene in front of him.

Blood splattered across the ground, painting a gruesome sight of ruthless slaughter as corpses littered the filthy ground of the second alleyway.

A grating voice then suddenly echoed from the shadows, causing Larzen to almost jump up in fright; his heart inevitably skipping a beat.

"Larzen Holmes, a diamond-ranked scout from Ninth Blaze Adventurer Guild…You dare order men to steal my auction haul? Make sure you watch your back from now on. One day, I'm coming for you." Shye threatened, his initially irksome voice sounding extremely spine-chilling.

Shortly after, he disappeared without a trace, leaving Larzen confused for a few seconds.

"No…Wait…WAIT!!! WHERE THE F*CK ARE YOU?! NO!! NOOOO!!!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!"

Realizing that Shye was now gone without a trace, Larzen raged like a mentally ill person—Shye's threat serving no purpose.

How could Larzen afford to concern himself with threats when his life would be forfeited long before then?

As Larzen insanely moved about in the dark alley in hopes of finding traces of Shye, the latter had already reappeared in a certain private room inside a run-down tea shop with no customers.

On the floor was the magic circle for single-person teleportation.

'Phew…Drone truly made things easy for me this time…' He sighed in relief.

If Drone lied about the fixed point long-distance teleportation scroll's almost instantaneous effects, things would've turned ugly for him.

Larzen was a diamond-ranked scout after all.

He reckoned that the bastard would be at least as strong as the old goat who tried to assassinate their academy's convoy on the way back.

Looking around the private room, Shye noticed that he was alone.

'Well then, I'm done being an annoying old goat.' He mused, swiftly yet carefully removing his disguise shortly after.

Once he was done, he promptly left the room.

"Hello, esteemed sir. If you're ready, please follow me to the exit." The Constantine Consumables staff stationed in the secret establishment said before walking in a certain direction, compelling Shye to follow. "Thank you for trusting our shop. Have a nice day, sir."

"My gratitude as well," Shye replied.

He then looked around the street where the secret establishment is located and found that although bustling, there weren't many people paying attention to him in this particular street, making him feel satisfied with Constantine Consumables' emergency escape scrolls.

The item cost him 40,000 silver coins though, and that price was already discounted.

Luckily, he opted to hunt numerous creatures ahead of the auction, enabling him to replenish the funds expended on his auction preparations.

'Based on Drone's explanation, I must currently be in Grove Street, Feralmick City…' Shye pondered.

Well, there was nothing for him to do in this city, especially now that he was rather low on funds.

Although he looted the bodies of the three rats, the total amount of silver coins in their hands was merely 25,000, far from what he previously had.

Still, it was enough to provide him with a sizable fund for day-to-day living.

Satisfied with everything that just happened, Shye sauntered towards the teleporter inside the city, admiring the city's wide streets and various establishments.

Well, the city was only on the same level as Balkrow so there wasn't much to see, except for the teleporter, an important facility that Balkrow didn't have.

It was only possible to set up a teleporter in cities built near a mana vein so it was inevitable for some cities to not have one.

After walking for around twenty minutes, he finally arrived at a spacious, semi-outdoor stone lobby.

There were two entrances to the lobby, both adorned by miniature stone sculptures of what seemed to be dragons.

From what he heard from the Blackburrow city guard, teleporters were jam-packed, however, for some reason this one wasn't.

Little did he know, it was actually the opposite. Only the teleporter in Blackburrow City was bustling with activity.

This is due to the high cost of teleportation, which is why most adventurers typically opt to walk to their destination.

After all, a single use ranges from 3,000 to 10,000 silver coins depending on the distance.

Such a huge amount was equivalent to around five to fifteen quest rewards for normal adventurers who could only complete quests with the help of an entire party.

As for Shye, he was capable of completing quests solo, so the cost wasn't overly burdensome for him, especially considering it would take him around one and a half months to travel back to Balkrow from Feralmick.

A month would allow him to complete around three to five quests, enabling him not only to recoup the five thousand silver coin teleportation fee but also to earn additional income.

Knowing this, it was better for him to take the teleporter.

He tried asking for a different fixed-point emergency long-distance teleportation scroll from Drone, unfortunately, the only one in stock was the Feralmick one.

"Hello, young adventurer. Would you like to use the city's teleporter?"

"Hello, yes please, to Utenburg City please."

"I understand, that would be five thousand silver coins."

"Here, please confirm if the amount is correct."

After a short and swift transactional conversation with the mage, the one responsible for activating the teleportation formation, Shye was allowed to enter the magic circle.

Shortly after, the mage activated the enormous magic crystal that was supplying power to the formation, prompting small blue orbs to rise from the ground, gradually escalating to a medium-sized beam that stretched onto the heavens.

Naturally, such a majestic sight prompted people from all over the city to look in the teleporter's direction.

Subsequently, once the blue heavenward beam disappeared, so did Shye.
