Chapter 199: (B) Ranked, Forest Troll Berserker
There was no need for Shye to hide his dual wielding anymore, thus freeing him from any sense of movement restriction.
Engaging opponents with only a single greatsword to conceal one of his trump cards for their upcoming battle against the top three academies proved somewhat exhausting and frustrating.
Fortunately, he could now fight comfortably.
As the crowd watched the battle unfold, one of them had a sudden moment of realization.
"Wait…Wait!! I remember him!" a person from the crowd exclaimed, garnering the attention of those around him.
"Huh? What are you on about? Remember who?"
"Colzen Academy's strongest representative, Shye Crowley!"
"Hmm? I've been watching the Adventurer Academy Competition for two decades straight and I didn't have any initial impression on him, stop lying."
"Wha–? I'm not lying, you bastard! You wanna have a go?! Huh?!"
"Ha! You charlatan! Stop trying to get attention for yourself and just watch the match!"
Initially, those who've been watching the competition consistently agreed with the second guy, however, the words of the first guy kept bugging them so they tried to recall the things that happened in the Adventurer Academy Competition in the past three years.
A few moments later…
"W-W-Wait! I think I remember him as well!"
"Me too!"
More and more people started claiming that they remembered Shye, thus, the second guy finally couldn't stand it and snapped.
"Just f*cking spill the beans! Stop claiming and all that shit! Tell me! Who is he?!"
After hearing the second guy admit defeat, the first guy chuckled. He then cleared his throat and stuck his nose in the air before explaining:
"Do you guys remember the legendary first-year substitute representative from Colzen three years ago? The one who got beaten up by the Shadowglade representatives but helped his team attain victory? That's him! Shye Crowley!"
Hearing the first guy's explanation, a wave of enlightenment enveloped the nearby crowd and soon, the news of Shye's first appearance in the Adventurer Academy Competition spread like wildfire.
"Indeed, the legendary first year back then wielded dual greatswords! So it was him!"
Due to this, some of the Aslan supporters wavered.
Remembering Shye from three years ago made an impact on their hearts, urging them to support him.
Ultimately, the crowd ended up splitting 60% to 40% in favor of Colzen.
Had Shye been aware of the happenings among the audience, he would have been overjoyed at the prospect of additional support, potentially translating into points.
Unfortunately, his hands were full dealing with the Colzen Forest Troll Berserker who had no chill, continuously trying to chop either him, Ian, or Siegfried with its battle axes.
So far, they've been able to contain it properly, allowing the back liners, Harry, Kiin, David, and Wendy, to perform their tasks without any disturbances.
Slowly but surely, they whittled down the health of the troll.
If not for its innate absurd recovery rate, then things would've been easier.
'Tch! At our current pace, it would take forever to bring this stupid troll down!' Shye inwardly grumbled as he watched the wounds they inflicted on the creature slowly heal right before his eyes.
Frustrated, Shye subconsciously glanced at the Aslan representatives to see how they were faring.
His eyes then widened upon realizing that they were considerably behind.
Somehow, the Aslan representatives managed to damage the berserk troll significantly more than they were able to.
For the first time in the entire tournament, Shye felt pressure.

In the past, it was always them who were in the lead when it came to hunt-type matches, thus, the current situation made him anxious.
'So this was how the Kossin representatives felt huh?' thought Shye as he took one deep breath to calm himself down. 'Let's observe them for a bit.'
Since Wendy's buffs were still active, Shye had a bit of leeway to look around, hence, he observed how the Aslan representatives dealt with the Forest Troll Berserker.
After closely observing for a few moments, he noticed something unusual.
Instead of being the main source of damage, the backliners only used their skills to help the frontliners contain the attacks of the troll.
'Why though?' Shye mused, continuing to study the tactics of the Aslan representatives.
While the Aslan Forest Troll Berserker continued its relentless attack, Asha found a way to time her fireball perfectly, striking the creature's arms as it swung downward. This action caused the troll's limbs to be knocked aside, creating a significant opening for the Aslan party.
"Now!" shouted Damien.
Hearing their party leader's signal, the four melee attackers, Breion, Damien, Abel, and Lesurii, immediately closed in.
The four then hacked, slashed, and stabbed at the tough creature as many times as possible.
Noticeably, the Aslan attackers only targeted a few specific spots on the troll's body, namely, the flesh around the joints.
A few more moments later, Shye finally realized what the Aslan party was up to.
'Attacks on the joint areas weaken the troll's regenerative abilities!'
Knowing this, he immediately shouted new orders.
"Everyone! Change of plans! Ian, Siegfried, and I, shall be the main attackers. Focus on attacking the flesh around their joints! Kiin, Harry, David, and Wendy, no need to use your abilities to damage the troll berserker, instead, use them to give the three of us openings!"
Hearing Shye's orders, the Colzen party immediately complied without even asking why.
They trusted him so there was no need for them to know the reason.
Not to mention, they didn't have the time to ask since they were way behind the Aslan representatives.
Quickly repositioning to provide better support for the melee attackers, the Colzen backliners used their skills according to Shye's instructions, skillfully knocking the arms of the Colzen Forest Troll Berserker away as often as possible.
Naturally, Shye, Ian, and Siegfried dared not dally and slashed their hearts out, desperate to catch up to the Aslan representatives.
"Tch! The hillbillies have noticed! Pick up the pace!"
Realizing that the Colzen party was in hot pursuit, Damien stopped holding back and immediately started using his offensive skills to bring the Forest Troll Berserker down as fast as possible.
