Chapter 162: A Grand Celebration
"Great job, representatives! You truly showed everyone the Colzen spirit and I would like to thank all of you on behalf of Colzen Academy for helping the academy enter the championship stages."
Dean Privett said as she warmly smiled at the students, feeling truly grateful to them for choosing to trust Colzen Academy with their studies.
With their talents, these students could actually make it in bigger academies and they would probably shine even brighter so for the deans and the instructors, it was truly quite an experience helping such talented individuals grow to their peak.
After a few high-fives, hugs, and words of praise, the Colzen group packed up and left the academy station to meet the companion students and the other instructors at the rendezvous point.
Once everyone was ready, Dean Snowcrest opened the academy station door and led the Colzen representative group out.
What they didn't expect was, after taking a few steps outside, they were greeted by another round of thunderous cheers and overwhelming applause.
The Colzen representative group was dumbfounded.
It was already quite late so they didn't expect that some people who watched their matches would still be waiting for them.
Naturally, the hearts of everyone in the representative group including the deans were filled with warmth, pride, and joy.
They've never experienced such a treatment in the past.
Before, no one even spared them a glance every time they exited the arena after either a top 128 or a top 64 finish so this was a new experience even for the deans.
Thus, after managing to organize their wits, the representatives smiled widely and waved their hands toward the crowd as they exited the arena, pride welling in their hearts.
Meanwhile, the two deans couldn't help but reminisce.
In the past, even though they were happy to achieve a top 64 finish, exiting after losing to strong academies still gave them a bittersweet feeling as thoughts of "I hope one day we could make it to the championship stages", flooded their minds.
Today, they managed to achieve their long-time dream of making it through the knockout stages, giving them one whole day to explore and play around Valenzia City before the championship stage starts.
Of course, the deans wouldn't play around as they had some work to do.
After walking for a few minutes, the Colzen representative group finally saw the silhouette of around thirty-plus people, jumping, cheering, and waving at them.
These people were the companion group who were waiting for them to exit the arena.
Naturally, those who doubted Shye before, namely, Tyson and his friends were now Shye fanatics. His position in their hearts surpasses even Siegfried's after such a dominant win.
The seven representatives warmly walked towards the companion students and socialized with them for a while as they absentmindedly followed the deans toward the destination.
They thought that they were simply heading to the hotel since they were going in its direction.
However, after a while, the students were slightly dumbfounded upon realizing they were now in front of a luxurious restaurant and Dean Privett was already in talks with the manager to make some arrangements since they were such a large group.
The students were naturally excited.
Although most of them were sons and daughters of fairly prominent adventurers, this was the first time they'd ever been to such an opulent restaurant, let alone dined in one.
Thus, once Dean Privett gave them a signal that they could now enter, the students' eyes sparkled as they excitedly entered the restaurant.
Fortunately, most of them knew better than to look stupid so although they were excited, they tried hard to not show it, making the two deans smile, thankful for having such sensible students.
Upon arriving inside though, the students couldn't suppress their awestruck expressions as they were greeted by majestically high walls covered in chic wallpapers.
The ceiling had aesthetically pleasing carved wood designs along with sophisticated chandeliers that cast a warm elegant glow to the restaurant's interior.
Below the grand ceiling were tables made of intricately carved pristine white marble, generously spaced to ensure privacy among customers while the single, high-back chairs had plush cushioned seats, adding a classy vibe to the already luxurious interior.
On the far left end of the restaurant was an adult-only bar and behind its polished granite countertop were long flat blackwood planks, fully stocked with the finest, most prominent brands of liquor which seemed to subtly allure customers to take a sip–an indistinct trap.
After admiring the stylish and sophisticated restaurant interior, the highly-trained personnel of the restaurant led the students to their designated seats.
As their backsides made contact with the cushion of the plush chairs, the students had the sudden urge to moan in comfort.
Fortunately, they managed to stop themselves from doing so as they made themselves comfortable in their seats.
It was quite unbelievable that Colzen Academy had the budget to rent the entire luxurious place out but the deans wanted to make this celebration memorable since this was the first time that their academy managed to enter the championship stage.
After all, the academy would receive a higher budget from the World Adventurer Association (WAA) after the event so this kind of expense is still within the academy's capabilities.
In addition to this, it wasn't like they would immediately lose the next match and the academy could still rank way higher, making the expenses of this celebration nearly negligible.
Seeing that the students were already settled, Dean Privett took the chance to stand up and announce something in a loud voice:
"Everyone, after decades of mediocrity, our academy has finally officially made it into the ranks of the elites! Please give a huge round of applause to our representatives for their truly exemplary performance!"
Naturally, after hearing Dean Privett's words, not only did the companion students and the instructors give them a round of applause, but some of them also cheered at the top of their lungs, making the elegant restaurant a bit too rowdy.
The personnel of the restaurant seemed to not mind it though as they observed the proceedings with smiles on their faces.
Dean Privett gave the students a few moments to show their enthusiasm before signaling them to stop.
She then continued her speech and said:
"Today is a happy day for not only Colzen Academy but also for the entire Colzen City and we shall celebrate our hearts out for those people who wanted to be here but could not come."
"However, aside from our celebration, I also have something to announce so please listen carefully."
"As you all know, tomorrow will be a day off and everyone will be free to roam Valenzia City but I do encourage everyone to watch the blacksmith competition in Valenzia Square as this will help you in your journey as an adventurer in the future."
"Equipment is a part of an adventurer's identity and strength. A faulty equipment could mean death so I want you guys to observe the skills of all the blacksmiths in Valenzia Region so that you will be able to skillfully choose appropriate equipment in the future."
"That's all from me, please enjoy the food and celebrate to your heart's content."
After finishing her announcement, Dean Privett warmly smiled before sitting back down.
Shortly after the announcement, the long-awaited food finally arrived and a wide selection of luxurious cuisines were served on each table.
There were premium vegetables such as spinach, lettuce, mushrooms, carrots, potatoes, and many more.
Naturally, different varieties of seafood and meat were also served.
The students couldn't help but take a huge gulp as the rich and savory aroma of the dishes assaulted their olfactory senses, making the food service process seem like an eternity.
Finally, once the highly-trained staff members were done serving, the students started to dig in.
An expression of utter bliss appeared on their faces as their taste buds made contact with the heavenly taste of various dishes.
