Chapter 754: No Snitching!
Each of the kids have different dynamics with their parents that influences the way that they act with them.
Straga is always eager to help in some way. Despite their unnatural super strength, if he ever saw his mothers carrying something that looked like it would have been 'heavy' for a normal woman he always made sure to help them.
Thea, now that she was older, was trying to get her parents to see her as more of an adult. It had yet to work.
Gabbrielle brought them books to read and had even formed a little book club with some of the others. Sometimes they read works without smut… sometimes.
But among all of the children, Thrudd was the one who would prove the most troublesome to their current mission.
Because she was the one who sought their father's approval the most and liked being seen as the dependable and responsible child.
In laymen's terms? She was the snitch.
Like Apophis, but with tits.
Thus the reason why none of the girls were too enthusiastic about the prospect of the second eldest coming to join them on their adventure.
There was a high chance that this mission could end up ending before it even began.
Running and hiding? They couldn't even if they wanted to.
The family is linked by blood. They can all find each other wherever they may go as long as they're at least a planet's distance away from each other.
Which was how the girls ended up standing in the parking lot waiting around for the end of their plans to arrive.
"Yemaaa..! I said I was sorry! Please don't be mad at me!"
"I already said that I wasn't mad, Mira."
"Then why do you sound like that!"
"This is just my voice."
"Then why do you look like that?!"
"This is just my face!"
Yemaja finally caved when she realized that her sister wasn't going to stop whimpering until she showed her a bit of warmth.
Mira as leader of the Unongendi and Mira as the daughter of Abaddon are almost two completely different people.
Just like Kanami with the Euphrates, Mira is tough, decisive, extremely eloquent, and meticulous in both her training and missions undertaken.
But as soon as she takes her armor off and gets around her family- she does a complete one eighty.
She still wears onesies around the house. Apophis still helps her clean her room. The wives remind her like clockwork to wash her face. Abaddon feeds her pets at least four times a week when she forgets.
She may be an extremely powerful weather goddess, but she's still just a girl!
Yemaja lifted her hand and gave Mira some obligatory pats on the cheek.
"I'm not mad at you, sister. I know that you weren't trying to interfere with the mission on purpose."
At that moment, dark clouds started rolling in from out of nowhere- completely rewriting the weather man's earlier forecast of clear skies.
A soft rain began to fall over the campus, accompanied by a mellow rolling thunder.
When the booming noise faded, there was a new red-haired woman standing amongst the group.
Like Thea, Thrudd was among the oldest of the children and had the appearance of a 28-27 year old woman.
Despite being a girl, she favored their father immensely due to their shared sharp features and muscular tattooed physiques.
This also means that she is often considered to be one of the most attractive, but she holds a rather deep disdain for dressing in anything considered too 'feminine'.
In that regard, she's not all that different from Valerie, Bekka, Seras, or Sif, in that none of them really like putting on dresses either.
That said, it wasn't all that surprising to see Thrudd suddenly appear wearing a pair of leggings and a tank top as if she'd just come from working out.
Since the invention of sneakers and headphones, she had never been seen outside of her house without either.
A large Rottweiler sat on a leash at her side; wearing a curiously unique collar…
Thrudd tipped down her sunglasses and stared at the group of girls with unhidden suspicion.
"…Why are you guys looking like that?"
"Like what?" Courtney shrugged innocently.
"Like you've done something wrong or are about to."
She grabbed Mira and Yemaja by the cheeks and punched them slightly.
"I'm used to seeing that kind of look from these two, but you guys are a different story."
Yemaya and Courtney stared at each other momentarily before deciding to come clean.

"Actually… Yemaja and I believe that we might've found the ruins holding our other counterparts' resting places. We were actually going to go there right now."
"Oh?"
"A-And I was gonna come too…" Courtney scratched her cheek.
"Guys.." Thrudd began.
"J-Just hear us out first! I'll be extra safe since all of you are here with me AND I still have Mercy too. Nothing is going to happen to me so there'll be no reason for dad to freak and be all overprotective which means that you don't have to tell him about any of this!"
"…"
"…Please..?"
Thrudd groaned as she doubled over with a headache.
Bagheera gave her a reassuring nuzzle as she scratched him behind the ears he had suddenly developed.
She could hear the girls hold their breath in their lungs as they waited to hear what her reaction would be to this heartfelt plea.
"…Just tell me, where exactly are these ruins supposed to be?"
- Olympus
Demeter stared out the window as the mountain making up her home slowly disappeared from view.
Unlike in previous timelines, the gods of Olympus so rarely leave their abode; and never without express permission or sometimes surveillance.
Kronos made this decree in an effort to prevent Greeks, who were known for their rampant acts of… everything, honestly.
And Demeter, not wanting to disobey her father and suffer his wrath, made sure to follow in line with his decree like everyone else.
It was known that she was acquainted with Abaddon and Ayaana, but the degree of their relationship was a secret only they were privy to.
They were like the best of friends. Though she did secretly long for more. They pretended to be blissfully unaware of it so as not to hurt her feelings.
The nature of their friendship was largely kept secret due to their differing backgrounds.
Abaddon couldn't exactly look like he was too soft on the gods or favored certain ones over others.
Demeter also couldn't look like she had gotten too close to Abaddon, or else her father wouldn't waste a single moment in thinking up ways to exploit it.
As such, they figured that it was best to keep the depth of their relationship a secret.
That said, Demeter figured that she was going to have a pretty hard time explaining why her sudden disappearance coincided perfectly with Abaddon's departure.
But she would rather worry about all of that later than let this opportunity slip from her grasp again. She hadn't seen the dragons in so very long, and she was going to make her displeasure known even if it killed-
"GET OFF OF ME!"
"I refuse! I'm tired of you acting so cold to me all the time! It's mean! How can you treat me like this after all we've been through together?!"
"This is my first time
seeing
you in this reality!"
"And what about all the others, huh?! What about all of those incalculable millennia?!"
"How many of those have you cheated in while I was asleep?!"
"N-Not that man-"
"You lie as easily as you lay on your back!"
"Stop being mean to me!"
"Then get off of me!"
"Noooo!!!"
Gaia continued to straddle Bashenga aggressively- showing clear inability to respect personal space.
"… Are you going to do something about thi…"
Demeter's words trailed off as she found Abaddon and Ayaana covering each other's eyes.
Nyx was just watching patiently- as if she were anticipating the right moment to jump in and break things up.
She may have also been partially watching for amusement though too.
Deciding to take a page out of Gaia's playbook, Demeter scooted closer to Ayaana until she was practically in her lap.
"I believe I neglected to ask, but… Where exactly are we traveling to?"
Ayaana seemed to jolt a bit once she heard Demeter's voice from so close.
She gradually pulled Abaddon's hand from her eyes and turned to face her.
"Takamagahara… Have you decided to start talking to us again?"
"I haven't." Demeter suddenly turned her head and stared back out the window.
"D-Don't be like that, Dems. We already said we were sorry for not visiting more often."
Abaddon nodded along in agreement.
"Hmph." The goddess huffed.
She was one of the few who could make the twelve dragons feel this guilty without expressing a single word.
"…Why are you traveling there of all places?"
"Perhaps we're just interested in the weather?"
"That doesn't sound right."
Abaddon could absolutely not refute that.
Demeter finally turned back around- having grown weary of depriving herself of their beautiful faces.
"Just tell me this: is this a liesure trip or official business?"
Abaddon smiled wryly and shrugged.
"Fuck."
