Fantasy: The Great Emperor Comes Back

Chapter 5

C5 – Defeat All

“Battle Symbol Spell!”

Mo Changyou bellowed, and in a flash, he mobilized all the Power of Vitality within him, unleashing a torrent of Spirit Energy. With a single punch, he met the onslaught of attacking puppets head-on, and the Body Refining Level 10 puppets collapsed instantly.

Countless puppets lay scattered across the ground, reduced to fragments in Mo Changyou’s wake. The disciples engaged in fierce combat were left dumbfounded.

“Is that Mo Changyou?” a disciple stammered, his voice tinged with disbelief.

“Am I seeing things?” exclaimed a Mo family member trailing behind him, his face etched with astonishment.

Yet, a serene smile graced Mo Changyou’s face.

Such was the power of the Battle Symbol Spell.

In the past, Mo Changyou had dominated his peers, but he had only acquired two of the Nine Ancient Secrets: the Battle Symbol Spell and the Man Symbol Spell. Legend had it that whoever mastered all nine would ascend to the rank of Heavenly Emperor, unmatched by any in the world.

The Mo family members behind Mo Changyou gaped in disbelief as he effortlessly advanced to the second level.

The Battle Symbol Spell’s purpose was straightforward: it could enhance any cultivation technique and amplify all Secret Arts. Mo Changyou had just utilized the Spirit Fusion Stage technique he had learned from a Qian family disciple. In a mere moment, the Battle Symbol Spell had elevated his Dragon Tiger Fist to the might of a Sovereign Stage technique.

This was the Battle Symbol Spell, arguably the most formidable of all Secret Arts in combat.

Upon reaching the second level, Mo Changyou was met with a scene reminiscent of the first, with steel puppets arrayed before him. However, these were not the simple constructs of the previous floor—each one was at Energy Condensation Level 1!

Meanwhile, Mo Yunyun stood at the threshold to the third level, a subtle smile playing on her lips.

“Indeed, among the Mo family, only Mo Yangning is worthy to be my rival,” she mused.

But as she was about to speak, her gaze shifted to another young man. Clad in a white robe, he was strikingly handsome. His powerful hands unleashed a relentless assault, his fist aura sweeping through the air, sending all the Energy Condensation Level 1 puppets reeling.

“It’s him!” Mo Yunyun’s smile stiffened, and a frown creased her brow. Indeed, it was none other than the one she deemed worthless, the young man who had brought shame to the Second Master.

Mo Changyou!

“A Spirit Fusion Stage technique? Tiger Roar Fist at Great Completion? He has a modicum of skill, but sadly, his innate talent is too low. He only managed to reach Body Refining Level 10 at sixteen, and his ultimate potential is merely reaching the Energy Condensation Stage,” Mo Yunyun remarked without delay.

Unless she was mistaken, no matter how formidable Mo Changyou might be, he would be confined to the second level.

“What a waste of a Great Completion Fusion Spirit technique,” Mo Yunyun murmured, shaking her head as she moved toward the third level.

Mo Changyou’s fists pounded the steel puppet, a slight smile on his face. He could easily dispatch these puppets if he chose to.

But clearly, Mo Changyou had no such intention. His current physique was too frail, and employing overly powerful techniques could backfire and injure him. He would need to unlock the Initial Sacred Body before he could wield the unparalleled techniques of his past life.

“That girl, Mo Yunyun, seems to have some health issues,” Mo Changyou noted, observing Mo Yunyun ascend to the third level.

In his former life, known as the Heavenly Book Monarch, he was omniscient. A voracious reader, he was also versed in the art of medicine.

Naturally, he spotted Mo Yunyun’s ailments at a glance.

Mo Changyou shook his head; after all, what concern was it of his?

Mo Changyou’s powerful fists relentlessly struck, repelling the surrounding puppets. The puppets at Energy Condensation Level 1 were no more challenging than little chicks in his grasp.

Mo Changyou was fine-tuning his harmony with this body while enhancing his combat awareness. In his past life, Mo Changyou had been undefeated for so many years, he couldn’t recall the last time he had truly fought.

Needless to say, if others were aware that Mo Changyou was essentially toying with the situation, they would likely be infuriated to the point of collapse. At that moment, a Mo family member beside him was panting heavily, his cultivation at Energy Condensation Level 2. He had been battered to the point of sporting a bruised face, nearly losing his teeth in the process.

If he knew that Mo Changyou was actually working out, he’d probably spit blood right there and then.

With the final Puppet collapsing, Mo Changyou advanced to the third level of the Azure Dragon Pagoda. Outside, a betting frenzy had already taken hold.

“I bet Mo Changyou will only make it to the second level at most! I’m putting down forty spirit stones!” a disciple declared with a chuckle.

“Mo Changyou, that Grade Nine Talent trash, reaching the second level? Don’t make me laugh. I’ll wager a hundred spirit stones he won’t get past the first level,” another disciple interjected.

The disciples were thoroughly enjoying the discussion, with the majority betting whether Mo Changyou would be ejected at the first or second level.

The third level?

That waste of space couldn’t possibly make it to the third level!

Mo Fei had even placed a two hundred spirit stone bet, convinced that Mo Changyou would be ousted on the first level.

Meanwhile, Mo Changyou had already effortlessly reached the third floor of the Azure Dragon Pagoda. This level was nearly identical to the first two.

Yet, the Puppets here were at Energy Condensation Level 2!

Typically, even a disciple at Energy Condensation Level 3 would struggle to get through. Next to Mo Changyou, several disciples were already gasping for air, their faces beet red.

Even Mo Changyou arched an eyebrow at this challenge.

“With the Battle Symbol Spell, I should have no trouble taking on an Energy Condensation Level 2 Puppet,” he murmured to himself.

Just then, a sneering voice reached his ears.

“Isn’t this the Second Master’s good-for-nothing son?”

A Mo family member beside Mo Changyou couldn’t help but mock him, though he was clueless about how Mo Changyou had managed to reach the third floor. But as a member of the Mo family, how could he be unaware of Mo Changyou, the sole possessor of Grade Nine Talent?

At that moment, Mo Changyou turned to look at the disciple behind him, his lips curling into a mischievous grin. The disciple shuddered inexplicably, a chill running down his spine, sensing that something was amiss.
