Chapter 11
C11 – My Son Beiming Has the Potential to Become a Sovereign
“My son Beiming has the potential to become a Sovereign!” Mo Yanglin declared with a hearty laugh. The other elders joined in with laughter, their gazes filled with a mix of respect and envy towards Mo Yanglin.
Disregarding Mo Yanglin’s influence within the Mo family, the mere fact that his son had ascended to the sixth floor of the Azure Dragon Pagoda that day was enough to silence any dissenters in the family.
Besides Mo Yangning and Mo Yunyun, was there anyone else in the Mo family who had reached the sixth floor of the Azure Dragon Pagoda? Certainly not!
Even the Tower Guardian Elder, who was not particularly fond of Mo Yanglin, offered a smile and quietly pondered the situation.
“With his high status and influence, if his son gains renown in the Azure Dragon Pagoda, it looks like the position of Patriarch Mo might soon be up for grabs,” the Tower Guardian Elder mused to himself. The Third Elder harbored great ambitions. Since Mo Feng had been crippled and no longer posed a threat, the Third Elder’s actions had become increasingly fearsome.
”You’ve actually made it to the sixth floor?” On the sixth floor, Mo Yunyun gave Mo Changyou, who had just arrived, a look of mild surprise.
She had never imagined that someone she considered worthless could have reached the sixth floor. She had assumed that only Mo Yangning was capable of such a feat.
“So, are you offering to warm my bed?” Mo Changyou teased, chin in hand, as he smiled at Mo Yunyun.
“Shut your mouth! I don’t know by what underhanded means you’ve gotten here, but if you utter such nonsense again, don’t expect any mercy from me!” Mo Yunyun retorted sharply, frowning and placing her hands on her hips. She harbored no fondness for Mo Changyou.
In her view, with Mo Changyou’s current cultivation at Energy Condensation Level 3, he must have resorted to dubious methods to ascend to the sixth floor. Mo Yunyun saw Mo Changyou as nothing more than a thug and a lowlife.
”Are you upset? Your Qi Deviation during your recent cultivation must have been caused by anger, right? Your state of mind isn’t stable enough,” Mo Changyou commented calmly, unfazed by Mo Yunyun’s scolding.
His words caused Mo Yunyun’s brow to furrow even more. She gazed at him, filled with bewilderment.
“How does he know about that?” she wondered silently.
“You ventured to the Azure Dragon Pagoda believing that the Heavenly Frost Grass on the sixth floor could suppress Qi Deviation and stabilize your cultivation journey. How laughable! If a simple Grade Two herb could suppress Qi Deviation, then far fewer cultivators would perish from it,” Mo Changyou said, piercing through Mo Yunyun’s innermost thoughts with a glance. His sneer carried a shade of scorn.
Indeed, many believe that the Heavenly Frost Grass can counteract Qi Deviation.
Yet, Mo Changyou is the Heavenly Book Monarch, privy to nearly all events from the dawn of the universe to the present.
The Heavenly Frost Grass is nothing more than a misguided remedy.
Mo Yunyun was taken aback, as Mo Changyou had accurately anticipated her unspoken words.
She also wondered if he was merely spouting nonsense.
“You think I’m spouting nonsense? The Jade Water Scripture you practice is too gentle, and in your rush for a breakthrough, you’ve grown impatient. This has led to blockages in three of your meridians, where the Spirit Energy is not flowing smoothly. The constant pain has indeed brought you to the brink of Qi Deviation. Of course, if you choose not to believe me, you’re welcome to dismiss my words as a mere joke,” Mo Changyou stated calmly. Mo Yunyun hadn’t uttered a word, yet he had already foreseen her response.
In his past life, Mo Changyou was the Heavenly Book Monarch, and apart from the anomaly of the Emperors’ Era, there was likely no one more erudite than him.
His words struck Mo Yunyun like a sharp needle, causing a violent tremor in her heart.
The Jade Water Scripture he referred to was indeed her chosen method of cultivation. Her eagerness for advancement was driven by the upcoming Competition, where she aimed to prove herself and secure superior resources. Her haste had indeed led her to the edge of mental instability.
“Is he the worthless son of the Second Master?” Mo Yunyun mused internally, her curiosity piqued, yearning to inquire how Mo Changyou intended to extricate her from this quandary.
Yet, she had just rebuked Mo Changyou, branding him a scoundrel.
How could Mo Yunyun now swallow her pride and seek favor with Mo Changyou?
“But everything he just said made complete sense. He even described it in more detail than I understand myself,” Mo Yunyun said, her fists clenched tightly as a faint blush spread across her cheeks. She gazed at Mo Changyou before her, uncertainty flickering in her eyes for the first time, unsure of her next move.
“Should I seek his help?” Mo Yunyun watched Mo Changyou’s tall, lean silhouette, her expression one of slight hesitation.
Yet, in the next instant, she witnessed something even more startling.
The pitch-black puppet, as if forged from Divine Gold, launched a ferocious punch at Mo Changyou. The puppet’s eyes on the sixth level glowed with a faint red hue, indicating a nascent battle awareness, and their power had clearly increased.
“A puppet at Energy Condensation Level 5!”
Indeed, these were puppets of Energy Condensation Level 5, and there were thirty of them on the sixth level!
With thirty Energy Condensation Level 5 Puppets plus the gravitational field, even an ordinary expert at Level 6 of Energy Condensation would struggle to break through. More daunting still was the fact that these puppets possessed combat intelligence. Even Mo Yunyun found it challenging to navigate this terrain, narrowly avoiding severe injuries from the puppets on several occasions.
However, when the Level 5 Energy Condensation puppets charged at Mo Changyou with fiery aggression, he, merely at Energy Condensation Level 3, fought like a seasoned warrior, not yielding an inch to the formidable automatons.
“He can defeat an opponent two levels above his own?” Mo Yunyun’s eyes widened in astonishment.
She had initially suspected that Mo Changyou had resorted to some underhanded tactics to reach this place. Now, she recognized that Mo Changyou was genuinely deserving of his presence here; he was fully qualified to set foot in this realm.
