Fallen Fate Online

Chapter 74 Sister

Zayne cleaned himself up and left the house, heading for the store. On the way, he checked his phone and saw several messages there, which gradually got rougher and rougher.

"Damn... Even though I had the weekend off, I got so caught up in the game that I completely forgot to warn my employer about it..." Zayne muttered with a complicated expression as he read the latest messages. His boss threatened to fire him if he didn't give an explanation.

"Whatever, it was a shitty and boring job anyway, and there's no point in me showing up there anymore. In Fallen Fate Online, I've already made months in advance!" Zayne frowned and quickly typed a reply to the last message before putting his phone in his pocket.

The plan was for him, Roland, and the others to go to Orcs Dungeon that night. Their mission was to be stealthy, so darkness was their loyal ally. Zayne had about eight hours, and that was the time he wanted to spend with the most important person in his life.

'Mia... I don't know if you'll wake up today, but I hope I get lucky.' Zayne inwardly muttered with a slight smile picking up some ripe mangoes, 'I couldn't afford such expensive fruit before, but I know how much you adore it.'

Zayne walked around the store and took absolute pleasure in the freedom he then felt. He could buy what he really wanted and not worry that it was too expensive for him.

"Well, Rubia deserves a gift from me too." Zayne said with a slight smile picking up a box of liquor chocolates, very expensive, but loved by Rubia.

Taking everything he needed, Zayne stood in line, waiting.

"Hey, have you seen the news?" Someone behind him said, turning to his buddy.

"Hmm? What are you talking about? Is it about Fallen Fate Online again?" The guy looked at his friend with a raised eyebrow.

"Hah, why are you staring at me like that? You spend hours a day there yourself, after all! Anyway, recently, a few players were able to clear Chaos Hearth!" The guy with the glasses exclaimed in excitement.

"Chaos Hearth... Isn't that an enhanced version of the Dungeons?" His buddy muttered, scratching the back of his head, "Is that actually significant?"

"Of course! These players said they're going to start their own Guild, and rumor has it they want to do it in one of the big cities! I hope they can join them!" The guy with the glasses said with a smile.

"You're too excited." His buddy shrugged, "The way I see it, you should aspire to be just like Zayne Fellen, he alone has accomplished more than this team."

Hearing those words Zayne flinched, but he didn't turn around, 'What the hell...? These two are discussing me? Right here? In the store? Right behind my back? How...'

"Zayne Fellen? Pffft! I reckon he was just lucky in the first few days, that's all. There hasn't been any news about him for days, and he hasn't given any interviews, nobody seems interested in him." The guy with the glasses waved his hand arrogantly.

"Maybe you're right, but my intuition rarely fails me. Not everyone is aiming for fame, some people have very different goals." His buddy sighed.

"Agh? What could be better than fame? You can say what you want, but there's nothing like being famous!" The guy with the glasses crossed his arms over his chest.

His buddy didn't answer anything, he just shook his head.

'What could be better than fame...? This guy's too narrow-minded, he's probably a schoolboy... No amount of fame can compare to my sister's smile...' Zayne muttered inwardly, stepping forward.

...

After a while, Zayne was already standing in front of the door to Mia's room. He took a deep breath and opened the door, hoping for the best.

Crackle.

He opened the door, and warm sunlight fell on him through the wide window, however, even the sun paled in comparison to what Zayne saw.

"Mia..." Zayne muttered looking at Mia, who was awake today. Standing next to her was Rubia, who was spoon-feeding her simple but nutritious cereal.

When Zayne stepped inside, their eyes turned to him and they all froze for a moment. Zayne slowly walked over to Mia, held her tightly against him, and said softly, "Hey, it's been a while, hasn't it?"

Mia closed her eyes and whispered, "Yeah... Even though it hasn't been as long for me as it has for you, but I miss you... very, very much..."

"Agh, you're the sweetest brother and sister I've ever met." Rubia muttered with a slight smile as she set the plate aside, "Mia, looks like your brother brought you something delicious."

"Hmm?" Mia gave Zayne a questioning look.

pαndα,noνɐ1,сoМ Zayne scratched the back of his head with an awkward smile, "Well, it's been a few weeks since last time, right? A lot of interesting things have happened in that time, so get ready for a story along with a mango snack!"

...

For the next hour, Zayne recounted all his adventures, gradually slicing the mangoes into pieces, putting them on a stick, and guiding them to Mia. Each time she opened her mouth wide and happily ate the sweet mango with genuine pleasure on her face.

"Mmmh! That's my favorite candy! Zayne, you really know what we like!" Rubia exclaimed, taking another candy when she had already eaten half the box.

"Heh, I'm glad you like it." Zayne grinned.

"Brother, are you going to work at this weird game now...?" Mia asked uncertainly since she hadn't quite figured out the subject yet.

"Something like that. I don't want to consider overly good options, but I've already made more in a few days than I have in a month." Zayne smiled.

"Agh... Does that mean you can buy mangoes next time, too?" Mia's eyes sparkled like stars.

"Hah, sure, I'll buy as many mangoes as you need." Zayne nodded.

"Really...? You promise?" Mia leaned toward him, gazing intently into his eyes.

Tap.

Zayne put his hand on Mia's head, patted her, and said, "Don't worry, little things like that are no problem for us now. I promise."

After a few hours, Mia grew weaker, and after taking her medicine, she went to bed. Even though she was awake today, she was frail and needed rest.

"Zayne, I want to talk to you about one thing." Rubia said seriously as she put her knees together.

"Hmm? Is something wrong?" Zayne was wary as he glanced at Mia, who was sleeping with a happy smile.

"No, on the contrary, I have good news for you, or rather I used to, but I just couldn't tell you about it." Rubia said hesitantly, fixing her blue hair and looking away slightly.

Zayne was completely puzzled, "Rubia... explain normally... Maybe you have a talent for reading my mind, but I definitely don't have that ability."

"Hahaha." Rubia giggled, "Okay, I hear you. Anyway, to make a long story short, there is a way to improve your sister's condition. It won't cure her, but it will give you a lot more time, and most importantly, she'll surely wake up more often."

When Zayne heard these words, his eyes opened wide and a blue flame burned deep within them. It was the same as from the Fate or Gael when he transferred some of his power to Zayne.
