Fallen Fate Online

Chapter 245 Water Dragon

Valira was on Arisen Grade as she was the Awakened One. Zayne realized this from the beginning because of her unusual aura.

However, although Chaos gave Valira a chance to continue living, Chaos did not heal her completely. Her bleeding and strength were restored, but some wounds remained as well as the fact that she had no arm.

It may have seemed insane to the average citizen of this world, but more often than not Chaos acted justly, much more often than Fate, to whom all the inhabitants of the empire obeyed.

If Valira had not been injured, Zayne would not have stood a chance. He was able to take Toruf to the ground with great difficulty, who had no intentions of killing him or fighting him seriously. Valira was different, she had to do anything for victory or else she would die, no matter from Zayne's sword or because it had already almost happened.

So, Valira's current strength was at Terror Grade, at its highest point, but she had something that set her apart from those who had not yet gone through the Awakened Process.

Whoooooooooooooosh.

Streams of water swirled violently around Valira, preventing anyone from getting close to her. For Zayne, it was a good opportunity to finish off his opponent, but he simply couldn't go any further.

The powerful waves threw him aside, practically knocking him off the platform. He had to thrust his sword into the sturdy stone platform to avoid ending up in the center of the lake.

"What is this...?! Zayne inwardly exclaimed with a great frown.

Gradually, the waves stopped, allowing Zayne to take a short break. It took a lot of effort for him to hold on and not fly off to the side.

Zayne quickly caught his breath, drew his sword from the platform, and prepared for battle. As soon as he saw Valira, his eyes went wide with a chill down his spine.

A powerful blue aura emanated from her body, visible to any creature even the weakest. Outwardly, she hadn't changed in any way, except for the fact that a long, water dragon was hovering around her.

"What is that...?" Zayne muttered in a disbelief.

"Hm? Why do you ask? If you were allowed to undergo the Chaos Trial, then you should definitely know that there's a unique power hidden in everyone. You have it too, that's for sure." Valira said confidently.

Toruf frowned, "That's quite an unusual type... She's a capable warrior."

"Yeah..." Edvin nodded, "However, Zayne has a very serious power as well. After all, thanks to it, he was able to plow you to the ground by grabbing you by the horns. It shocked even me."

Toruf sighed, "Except... Considering that he's only aiming for Awakened, he doesn't know how to activate it at will. He'll have to hope for a chance again, and maybe this time he won't be so lucky."

Edvin turned, cast a cold glance at Toruf, and said, "Hey, you know luck has nothing to do with it. We're on the same side at the moment but don't forget that I only care about Zayne. He's one of the Moon Shattered Order, so don't you dare say that he only got this far because of luck."

Toruf was wary, he didn't mean it at all, but he didn't argue with Edvin.

"Fine. You seem to care for him quite a bit, as do I, there's no need to be so testy and threatening." Toruf shrugged.

Edvin remained silent, just crossing his arms over his chest.

Valira pointed her trident at Zayne, then her hair flew up. At the same moment, the dragon tore toward Zayne, and high waves rose in the lake.

Zayne's pupils narrowed as he quickly swung his sword, cutting the dragon into pieces, however, the dragon didn't take any damage. The two pieces simply became one and returned to their owner.

"You know, in any other situation I would use my power like this, but right now I have a better use for it." Valira said calmly, then the water dragon shuddered and headed for her shoulder.

She couldn't grow a new arm, at least not during the battle, but she could find a suitable replacement. So, she sacrificed the water dragon forcing it to take the shape of her arm.

Her new hand was the same size as her other hand, but with longer claws, and sharp growths along the outside.

'What...? Doesn't that make her weaker? Zayne pondered, looking at Valira's new arm, 'That water dragon would give me a lot of trouble during a battle... I doubt it was worth it.'

Valira seemed to realize what Zayne was thinking by the look on his face and she wasn't surprised at all.

"Hah, I see, you're actually inexperienced, but also talented. It's obvious to any warrior that what I did is the most correct choice." Valira grinned.

"Why?" Zayne asked with a serious face.

Valira didn't answer anything, instead, she sprinted forward, leaving cracks in the platform.

Zayne noticed the difference immediately. Besides the fact that the water dragon that was now her arm had appeared next to Valira, she was also much faster and stronger.

'I see... Damn, now I know what she was talking about, but, unlike her, I can't use this power when I want to.' Zayne internally muttered carefully watching Valira's every move.

Even though all of her parameters had increased, Zayne wasn't worried. He had almost won once already, so now he needed to do the same, and he was sure he could do it.

Whooooooooooooosh.

Valira thrust with the trident, as Zayne ducked slightly, letting the trident pass over his shoulder. Then, he gripped the hilt of his sword tightly, intending to attack.

But, just as he took a step forward, Valira's fist came down on his face, throwing him back several meters without any obstruction.

"Argh!" Zayne's spat out a mouthful of blood, and he didn't have time to worry about it as Valira was already preparing his next attack.

'Shit! How could I not think of that!? It makes sense that she would use her hand now! Now she has two weapons instead of one!" Zayne exclaimed internally, quickly regaining his composure as scarlet wings unfolded behind him.

Without hesitation, he flapped his wings, darting forward. Zayne was not afraid to face Valira, for he knew he could win if he did everything right. He still had ten moves left and they were especially fast.

Whoooooooooosh.

In a moment, Zayne was behind Valira, leaving a deep cut on her side. Valira frowned, attacking sharply again, but Zayne was much faster and immediately attacked from another angle.

"Slowly!" Valira exclaimed, blocking Zayne's sword, then her fist plunged into his stomach.

Over this fight, Zayne had gotten too used to the fact that his opponent only had one arm and could only fight using a trident. Now, Zayne quickly had to adapt, but given Valira's increased strength, it was difficult to do so. Moreover, he had very little time to do so.

Everything blurred in front of Zayne's eyes, but he quickly recovered and tried to land on the platform. Before he could do so, Valira appeared in front of him and with a kick, threw him to the far side of the lake.

Zayne bounced off the surface of the water like a pebble several times before finally coming to a stop. The corners of his mouth were bleeding, and his gaze seemed weak and desperate.

Valira was an experienced warrior, each of her blows was powerful and a few direct hits were enough to make Zayne bleed to death. The long trident was much easier to dodge than a crushing fist, though the enemy didn't even have that option before.

"Commander... I could be wrong, I hope so..." Sara muttered with a worried expression, "But it looks like Zayne Fellen is about to die... What are we going to do?"

"Let's save him! If we do that, it'll be a real achievement!" Fosca exclaimed, clenching her fist confidently.

Marcus shook his head, "Stop talking such nonsense. If you continue to act this stupid, I'll write a report demanding that you be demoted."

Fosca immediately fell silent as Marcus was completely serious.

"Like I said, let's wait until the end of the Chaos Trial. If Zayne Fellen dies now, then so be it. We can't rush in there and save him, we'll be wiped out faster than we can realize anything." Marcus said coldly.

Valira at this time with steady steps approached Zayne, who was slowly floating on the surface of the lake on his back.

He was bleeding as he looked up at the bright blue moon and the multitude of stars. He tried to summon a wolf or his power to help him, but he was unsuccessful.

'Damn... Though it's two different worlds, this scene is similar to what I saw on the bridge during the fight with Elein...' Zayne muttered internally, then his eyes went wide, 'Wait... Then I didn't use the wolf power... then, there was something else...'

As soon as Zayne thought of this his eyes grew darker, and a dark silhouette appeared in front of him.

The strange thing was that in the midst of that silhouette, he saw many persons that he had already faced and fought.
