Chapter 89 Joyous Occasion
Roland took out his phone and dialed Butler Frank's number.
Instead of him, it was Housekeeper Stella who picked up the phone.
After explaining the issue to them Roland came to know that they were stuck in a traffic jam, but they were no longer that far from the venue. They might even arrive in the next few minutes.
Roland handed his phone to the waiter who received it with trembling hands as Butler Frank introduced himself as the person who rented the whole place.
"This… I can't make the decision. I'll call the manager over," the waiter replied as he handed back the phone to Roland.
A while later, he brought the manager of the place over to talk to Butler Frank over the phone.
Fortunately, after some talk with Roland, the manager got convinced and allowed them to come inside to everyone's relief.
Roland did not blame the manager and the waiter for the problem earlier. They were only doing their job and their way of interacting towards them was also respectful.
It was indeed partly their fault that they weren't allowed entry so they could only blame themselves. Fortunately, the matter was resolved peacefully as well.
With that being said, Roland, Stacey and the ten workers who came went inside the restaurant for the first time.
Looking around, it was not as majestic as those top-end restaurants where you could see chandeliers every time you looked up.
The ceiling of this restaurant was also not high, but the entire room was well-lit with a cozy atmosphere, perfect for a winter holiday like Christmas.
They found a table and chair to sit on as they waited for the other people to arrive.
The entire restaurant was rented as well as their service.
The moment they settled down, the waiters immediately took action as they gave each table some warm water for them to drink.
Not long later, Butler Frank and the others finally arrived. Gustav and Auntie Estela also came a moment later, following right behind them.
Now that they were already complete, they immediately started the gathering with Stacey finally introducing Roland to everyone.
The crew for his restaurant was surprised to learn of the fact that Roland was actually their hidden mysterious boss.
They could not help but size him up again, secretly admiring that he already has a company even though he was still very young.
Roland took over as he formally introduced himself as well as the company's vision. To serve the customers humbly and let them experience a good restaurant without experiencing any kind of prejudice.
"I hope that we can all get along in the future everyone, and Merry Christmas! Cheers!" Roland raised the cup of wine on his hand to provide a toast for everyone.
Everyone stood up as they raised their cups as well while chanting in unison, "Cheers!"
And with that, everyone experienced a full and hearty meal.
As a generous boss, Roland also handed some red envelopes to them as their Christmas bonus.
The employees praised Roland at the bottom of their heart, saying that they now have the money to buy presents for their family.
The unplanned gathering ended in a joyous mood, to Roland's delight.
Before parting ways, Roland promised the employees that he would treat them well and that this was only the start of their happy life. He planned to shower them with benefits as long as they worked hard for him.
After the joyous event, each of them went their separate ways with a huge smile on their face. Even Janine who had a downhearted expression earlier also left the restaurant and the store with a smile on her face. Well, it was mainly because Roland talked to her earlier but nevertheless, she still left the store with a smile.
Although the taste of the restaurant could not be compared to Roland and Gordon's cooking, it was enhanced by the joyous occasion, and none of them noticed any difference except for Roland, Gordon and Auntie Estela.
Anyways, as Roland and Stacey had plans tomorrow to travel to Brine City, they did not stay up late and instead went to sleep immediately.
Morning came and after Roland exercised and packed a few changes of clothes, he immediately went to fetch Stacey.
Brine City was a G-grade City. On average, one would need to travel at least eight hours straight in order to reach that city from Fore City. With a plane however, they could reach it in a few minutes.
However, Roland and Stacey did not plan on riding the plane towards there as they planned to take their time going there.
Today was still the 25th and the System stated that the yacht would only arrive at Brine City on the 26th of December, which was tomorrow.
Even if they got held up by something along the way, they would still have plenty of time to reach there before the yacht.
Roland told Butler Frank of his plans. He and Stacey would stay at the yacht for at least a week. The time they come back should be around the new year, which was also near the opening day of the restaurant.
Roland trusted Butler Frank a lot so after handing all the matters to him, he drove the Budi R8 Coupe towards Stacey's house.
Arriving there, he noticed that Stacey was already waiting for him at the doorsteps.
Unlike many girls, Stacey has always been punctual. There was never a time that Roland saw her getting late to any of their plans, which satisfied him a lot.
After boarding Stacey's things over, Roland finally droves the Budi R8 Coupe towards their destination.
As the two of them had not eaten yet, they decided to stop at a convenience store to buy some snacks that they could eat along the way.
An eight-hour drive was pretty long after all. However, with Roland's physique, there should be no problem for him to drive for a long time.
Enjoying the variety of scenery along the way, Roland and Stacey finally reached Brine City after almost nine hours of nonstop driving.
