Extra's Descent

Chapter 119: Date [1]

The Academy was currently open to the public during the festivities. Outsiders such as parents and alumni were allowed to enter the premises.

Though there were more students than guests that visited their cafe, Brandon still shuddered at the thought.

"Fuck… Embarrassing."

For what seemed to be hours, Brandon was finally relieved of his duties.

It wasn't actually hours.

It was currently 12:30.

There were several students who had tried to take a photo opportunity with him.

But out of respect, his classmates had actually banned the idea.

"Huu…."

Just the thought of it sent shivers down his spine.

Removing the maid uniform, Brandon quickly buckled his pants.

Looking at the mirror, he turned the faucet and thoroughly washed his face.

What's next was…

Psss— Psss—

Perfume.

Spraying it all over his body, the pleasant scent of lavender wafted in the air.

As soon as he was satisfied, he nodded.

Quickly adorning his white blazer, Brandon fixed his hair up and looked at the mirror once again.

"Nice."

He nodded.

He was scheduled to accompany Amelia to accommodate the delegate from the Imperial Army.

He had to look presentable.

That being said, he left the bathroom and roamed around the halls.

Immediately, he caught the attention of several people as all heads flicked towards him.

"Woah."

"He looks different today…"

Compliments reached his ears and Brandon nodded in appreciation.

Yes.

Despite not taking a shower, Brandon looked his best today.

At least, he hoped so.

He continued to walk around the halls but made a quick detour to his class.

Entering the lecture room, just like earlier, it still bustled with activity.

His previous performance had gotten a lot of attention, and most of the customers visited their cafe for lunch.

Approaching the counter, a familiar sight greeted him. With black hair and golden eyes, Cyrus Rosewill, one of his officers.

Seated on the counter, Cyrus looked up to meet his gaze.

"Ah, Brandon. You finished changing?"

"Yeah."

"Thanks."

Cyrus then peered down at the documents before him.

Without looking at him, Cyrus reported.

"So far, we've accumulated a total of fifteen gold coins. We're currently first place."

"Oh…?"

"Yep, all thanks to you actually."

Brandon nodded, and a smile spread across his features.

His agenda was for the report of their current progress. It seemed like things were going well.

The competition was separated between each years. Meaning, there would be five winners.

It seemed like their class was leading for the first-years.

Noticing his fancy attire, Cyrus looked up at him.

"Going somewhere…?"

"Yeah."

"Uh… No? I have committee duties after this."

"Alright."

Finishing their brief discussion, Brandon walked towards the exit. But he stopped mid-step and turned back around.

"Call me if there's any trouble."

"Sure."

The two nodded at each other and Brandon left the room.

Staring at Brandon's departing back, Cyrus let out a heavy sigh.

"Haa…"

They weren't that close. But during the preparations, they've had several interactions.

He was initially intimidated by Brandon.

But after finding out what his personality was actually like, he began to respect him.

In fact, he started looking up to him.

The amount of extracurriculars Brandon was currently juggling had left him inspired.

He too, wanted to be as responsible as Brandon.

All of a sudden, a familiar figure appeared before him. She adorned a maid uniform as her black hair was tied to a ponytail.

Her dark-crimson eyes met his gaze and her voice reached his ears shortly after.

"Where's he going…?"

"Committee duties."

Though it was subtle, Rachel's expressions contorted and her shoulders dropped.

Cyrus was observant, and thus he could tell what her reaction was.

But he shook his head.

Whatever was going on between the two was none of his business.

"Keep up the good work."

"Thanks."

Giving his thanks, Rachel flashed him a smile and returned to her duties shortly after.

***

"You're here early."

"Didn't want to be late."

"You've dressed up as well."

"So did you."

Brandon wore a fancy white blazer, one that nobles would use in fancy banquets. While Amelia adorned an elegant white dress that completely highlighted her features.

For some reason….

They were matching.

Yet the two were dense to notice as they sat beside each other on the couch.

Amelia's soft voice reached his ears shortly after.

"The Delegate informed me that he would be late."

"Oh, then…?"

"I've already cleared up our schedule for this. This is the only time I'm free."

She twirled her hair and met his gaze. Pursing her lips, she continued.

"I haven't had a chance to enjoy this festival. So before the delegate arrives…"

Brandon had an idea where this was going.

And he was on board with it.

He too had yet to enjoy the festival.

Amelia stood up and offered her hand.

"...Want to explore this festival together?"

But despite the fact that he knew she was going to say that. Her words had still taken him aback.

With wide eyes, Brandon hesitated for a bit.

Why?

Shaking his head he dismissed his thoughts. Reaching out for her hand, Brandon accepted her gesture and stood up.

Meeting her gaze, he opened his mouth.

"Sure."

"Haha~ Let's go then. I want to see how your class is doing."

"Uh…?"

Nevermind.

He wasn't looking forward to it.

Not at all.

"Hehe."

But he found himself laughing at the thought.

The two walked around the halls and immediately caught the attention of several students they had passed by.

On second thought…

"Let's leave my class for later."

"Hm?"

They paused as Amelia turned around to look at him.

"Why?"

"Leave the best for last?"

"Oh? You're that confident…?"

"Yep, we're actually first."

"That's amazing...!"

Her lips curled up into a smile. Stepping forward, she stopped and looked back at him.

"I'm quite hungry."

She rubbed her stomach.

"Have you had lunch yet?"

"Nope."

Brandon shook his head.

"There should be some vendors around the gazebo."

"Ah, let's go there then."

Brandon nodded and the two continued their venture.

*

Arriving at the gazebo, vendors lined its perimeter. Their stalls brimmed with colorful goods.

Students mingled around the stalls. Their laughter and chatter blended into the lively atmosphere.

A pleasant smell wafted in the air and Amelia's noise perked up.

Tracing Amelia's line of sight, Brandon turned to look. What greeted his sight was a stall that seemed to sell grilled food.

Amelia's mouth opened and closed repeatedly and her eyes seemed to sparkle.

Noticing the hungry look on her face, Brandon pursed his lips.

"You want to try that?"

"Yes."

The two approached the stall shortly after.

But that was when…

"..."

"Hm?"

Amelia scanned Brandon's stupefied expression.

"What's wrong?"

"Yo, Brandon."

A voice called out to him. It came from the vendor.

"Liam…?"
