Book 8: Chapter 120: Nine Cauldron Deity Seizing Curse
“A primogenitor-grade curse?”
The expressions of the Nine Kings changed immediately.
“Primogenitor-grade? What is primogenitor-grade?” the Black Soul Reaper asked, his brows knitting.
The faces of the Nine Kings sank as they looked at the Black Soul Reaper.
“Who did you offend? How could there be a primogenitor-grade curse? Practically no one could execute such a curse before the shaman race appeared,” the Bi-An King said with a frown.
“I don’t know. He is called Ming, the sect master of a Nine Yin Sect or something. I don’t know any other details.” The Bellowing Griever Heavenly Demon shook his head.
“Ming?” The Nine Kings appeared puzzled. Clearly, they had not heard of him before.
“You managed to figure out the curse earlier. Can you remove it?” the Black Soul Reaper asked again.
However, the Bi-An King looked gravely at the two. Then he looked at the bat above, hanging upside-down.
“Primogenitor-grade? That was rare, even during ancient times. This is a powerful opponent!” A solemn voice rang out from the bat.The Black Soul Realm frowned. “Can you remove it?”
“It can be undone because the Nine Cauldrons are also primogenitor-grade. However, the price of removing it is significant. Furthermore, we might end up forming an enmity with Ming for removing Ming’s curse, so…,” the bat said indifferently.
“Just be straightforward. How much to remove the curse on Bellowing Griever?” the Black Soul Reaper said nonchalantly.
Silence descended upon the hall. The Nine Kings did not dare interject. The bat spoke again only after a while. “Three hundred billion superior-grade spirit stones, a wisp of the White Tiger Divine Wind, and a set of molts and sloughs from the Heavenly Demon Holy Land’s twelve peak masters.”
The bat’s demand for three hundred billion superior-grade spirit stones shocked even the Nine Kings. It was an astronomical price, but no one dared to object to it.
The Bellowing Griever Heavenly Demon gaped in shock, and the Black Soul Reaper was dumbfounded by the asking price.
“So, how about it?” the bat asked indifferently.
The Black Soul Reaper remained silent for a while before eventually saying, “Underground Blood City Lord, how excellent of you. To think you are aware of everything I brought with me.”
“It is up to you whether to make this deal or not,” the bat retorted indifferently.
“Alright. No matter how valuable the treasures are, it is not more valuable than Bellowing Griever. I can give them all to you, but you must remove the curse from Bellowing Griever,” the Black Soul Reaper said seriously.
“Toss them into the blood sea at the side, and I will immediately remove the curse,” the bat said.
The Black Soul Reaper stepped out of the hall and waved.
A mountain of spirit stones fell into the blood sea.
Splash!
This kicked up towering waves on the blood sea and stirred up the monsters hidden in the blood sea, which quickly consumed the mountain of spirit stones.
Boom!
A loud report rang out as the blood sea gave off bright red light as well as a strange energy.
The bat at the ceiling of Blood Shaman Hall suddenly radiated crimson energy, as if connected to the blood sea.
“This feels great. After three hundred billion superior-grade spirit stones, I have finally recovered some of my former strength.” The bat moaned subconsciously.
The Bellowing Griever Heavenly Demon’s and the Black Soul Reaper’s expressions changed at the bat’s off-the-cuff remark.
Recover your former strength? Three hundred billion superior-grade spirit stones? Do you know how long it takes to collect that many spirit stones? That’s three hundred billion! Three hundred billion!
Besides the three hundred billion superior-grade spirit stones, I also tossed in a wisp of White Tiger Divine Wind and the molts and sloughs of the Heavenly Demon Holy Land’s twelve peak masters?
“All right, I’ve paid what’s due. Now, remove the curse on Bellowing Griever,” the Black Soul Reaper urged in a solemn tone.
“Nine Kings, remove the curse!” the bat commanded.
“Yes!” the Nine Kings answered.
The nine each took out a large bronze cauldron, placing them in nine different directions around the Bellowing Griever Heavenly Demon.
Buzz!
The Nine Kings quickly activated the Nine Cauldrons, making them shoot out beams of azure light at the top of the Bellowing Griever Heavenly Demon’s head. Then a huge azure image of a cauldron appeared.
“Suppress!” the Nine Kings shouted in unison.
The huge azure cauldron image suddenly descended, smashing towards the Bellowing Griever Heavenly Demon.
Boom!
A loud report rang out, and the entire Blood Shaman Hall trembled. However, a beam of golden light shot out of the Bellowing Griever Heavenly Demon’s body and blocked the huge azure cauldron image.
“What?” the Nine Kings exclaimed in shock.
“It’s not removed?” the Bellowing Griever Heavenly Demon said anxiously.
“A primogenitor-grade curse? It is indeed extraordinary; even the Nine Cauldrons cannot remove it? Again! The Nine Cauldrons are of the primogenitor grade. Go again and use your essence blood this time,” the bat called out.
“What? Master, if we use our essence blood, our vitality will suffer greatly!” the Bi-An King protested.
The Nine Kings all showed horrified expressions.
“Did you not understand what I said?” the bat said coldly.
“Yes!” The Nine Kings trembled and nodded.
Blargh! Blargh!
The Nine Kings spat blood into their respective cauldrons. Then the images of nine strange creatures slowly rose from the nine cauldrons.
They were Bi-An, Qiuniu, Pixiu, Taotie, Yazi, Suanni, Baxia, Bixi, Chiwen. Nine ferocious beasts.
[TL Note: The mythical creatures listed above are mostly from the legends of the nine descendants of the dragon. All nine descendants do not look like pure dragons but instead like dragon hybrids with other creatures. While not all the mystical creatures listed above are part of the common lists of the nine descendants, all of them look like dragon hybrids. The author likely intends to use the nine descendants of the dragon in this case. We probably can explain the difference as the difference between the Six Paths Immortal Firmament and the Sa’s Immortal Firmament (which would be based on the modern world we live in.) “Nine dragon cauldrons?” The Black Soul Reaper watched from the side.
Nine ferocious creatures came out of the cauldrons, appearing to come to life.
“Roar!”
With deafening roars, the cauldrons released a crimson aura, which gathered in the center and formed an enormous crimson cauldron.
Boom!
The crimson cauldron smashed down and shattered the golden light covering the Bellowing Griever Heavenly Demon’s body.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The Nine Cauldrons fell to the ground, and the Nine Kings collapsed to sitting positions and panted, their complexions pale. Evidently, they had badly drained themselves.
“I can see! My arm bones are reconnected?! Number Two, the curse is gone. Wait, that’s not right. Ouch! There’s still some pain!” the Bellowing Griever Heavenly Demon shouted.
Although the Bellowing Griever Heavenly Demon could see, his eyes and arm still hurt.
“Some remnant pain is normal. The curses in you are gone, but some Curse Energy remains. That is not a problem. Stay in Underground Blood City for some time; the Nine Kings will help you remove it,” the bat said indifferently.
“Alright. Many thanks!” The Bellowing Griever Heavenly Demon smiled.
The Nine Kings extended their hands and put away their cauldrons. Then they sat cross-legged, regulating their energy. They were still pale, having expended a significant amount of vitality earlier.
“Many thanks, City Lord!” the Black Soul Reaper said gravely.
Although the price had been steep, they had lifted the curses.
“Curse techniques can kill from trillions of kilometers away; they are very powerful. In lifting the curse, we probably offended Ming. I don’t know how he will retaliate, so there’s no need to feel any heartache over what you paid,” the bat said.
“That is of course!” The Black Soul Reaper nodded.
“Speaking of which, the other party had no intention of killing the Bellowing Griever Heavenly Demon. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been as simple as blinding him or breaking an arm,” the bat said without a care.
“Oh? You mean to say Ming could have killed Bellowing Griever using curses?” the Black Soul Reaper said in shock.
“Do you know how powerful primogenitor-grade curses are? As long as one is not at the consummation of the spiritual souls, one cannot resist. You would be completely at the other person’s mercy. Fortunately, you came to us; no one else in the world can lift such curses. We only dared to accept this job because I could tell the other party did not want to kill the Bellowing Griever Heavenly Demon. Otherwise, we would not wish to offend someone who can execute primogenitor-grade curses,” the bat said seriously.
“Wait, did you just say curse techniques can kill from trillions of kilometers away? Anyone not at the consummation of the spiritual souls cannot resist?” The Black Soul Reaper’s eyes suddenly lit up.
“Oh? What are you thinking?” the bat asked warily.
“Over here, you take payment for destroying others. What if I hired you to kill someone?” the Black Soul Reaper asked.
“Kill someone? Haha! The price for killing is steep. Who do you wish to kill?” the bat asked.
“The Han Heavenly Dynasty’s Gu Hai. Can you curse him to death?” the Black Soul Reaper asked eagerly.
“Gu Hai?” the bat suddenly said gravely.
“Oh? Based on your tone, you know him?” the Black Soul Reaper said with suspicion.
The bat said indifferently, “Whether I know him or not is none of your business. Curse Gu Hai? Sure. However, it will be even more expensive than earlier.”
“You can really curse him?” the Black Soul Reaper exclaimed in shock.
Most of the Heavenly Demon Holy Land’s twelve peak masters had died because of Gu Hai. As the second-ranked peak master, he naturally resented Gu Hai deeply.
“The Nine Kings can also execute a primogenitor-grade curse using the Nine Cauldrons. It will take a lot of resources,” the bat said indifferently.
“A primogenitor-grade curse? That is great! Help me curse Gu Hai, and I’ll pay any price you ask!” the Black Soul Reaper said, his eyes blazing.
“Master, you can’t! We just used our essence blood. If we execute a primogenitor-grade curse now, we might die!” one of the Nine Kings exclaimed.
“Indeed! Master, don’t!” the Nine Kings exhorted.
“Shut up!” the bat snapped.
The Nine King’s expressions stiffened. However, the Black Soul Reaper’s eyes brightened, as he could tell from the bat’s tone that the bat seemed to have a grudge against Gu Hai, too.
“Underground Blood City Lord, what is your price? Just state it!” the Black Soul Reaper said with anticipation.
“This time, you will have to empty out Bai Zizai’s savings. The Nine Kings just suffered a blow to their vitality. We have to nourish the Nine Kings first. This time, we will want ten times the price,” the bat said indifferently.
“What? Three trillion superior-grade spirit stones? How could it be that much?” the Black Soul Reaper exclaimed.
“Humph! If it were not Gu Hai, I would ask for more. If you don’t have enough spirit stones, make up for it with spiritual treasures. You can discuss it with Bai Zizai. If you want to, come back. If not, then never mind,” the bat said.
“Uh…I will report it to Milord. However, how effective will your curse be?” the Black Soul Reaper asked with a frown.
“The Nine Cauldron Deity Seizing Curse. Say that to Bai Zizai. He knows how effective it is,” the bat said indifferently.
“The Nine Cauldron Deity Seizing Curse? The curse the Azure Dragon Prime had died to back then? Deity seizing? I thought the Azure Dragon Prime had died to the Deity Seizing Hall Master, Jiangchen. So, it was this curse?” The Black Soul Reaper trembled.
“If not for my grudge against Gu Hai, your payment would not be enough for me to execute the Nine Cauldron Deity Seizing Curse. Go tell Bai Zizai. The Bellowing Griever Heavenly Demon shall remain here to recuperate. I’ll wait for your news,” the bat said.
“Alright!” The Black Soul Reaper nodded.
The hunchbacked old man had waited at the hall’s doors. He respectfully escorted the Black Soul Reaper out.
In the hall, the Nine Kings watched as the Black Soul Reaper left. When they heard the bat would nourish them to make up for their lost vitality, they inwardly heaved sighs of relief. This would alleviate their situation.
Only the Bi-An King frowned heavily, showing an uncertain gaze. He knew Gu Hai and even owed Gu Hai a debt of gratitude from before Ba escaped her seal.
However, the Bi-An King did not say anything.
“Seal off Underground Blood City. No one is to enter or exit from this moment on. Note, I said, no one!” the bat said coldly.
“Yes!” the Nine Kings responded.
