Chapter 291: Finished Activities and Some Nonsense
Chapter 291
I finished it! I'm awesome! I'm flying awesome!
First, let's talk about a completion event. From today (June 23rd) to July 15th, if you create fan fiction (fanfic stories or drawings) in the book circle and include the keyword "Completion Event", I will send a plush Ultraman on July 15th to the work with the most likes.
Then I'll randomly pick two fan works that I personally like the most to send a plush Ultraman and a signed photo.
See the details of the event in the book circle (it may take a few hours to review, if you don't see it for now check again tomorrow). I'll put up the character designs for Shen Hui, Shen Yue, and Si Chengyou there.
I hope no one will participate and make me feel awkward. Yeah right!
Now for my completion remarks.
I actually didn't know what to write for the completion at first, but I saw some comments recently that resonated with me, so I'll ramble for a bit.
Shen Yue in this book has three stages.
The first stage is seeing the mountain as a mountain, and the water as water. She believes whatever people tell her, mechanically acts based on her memories and knowledge without questioning why. So she seems a bit silly.
The second stage is seeing the mountain not as a mountain, and the water not as water. At this point, she has gained some knowledge and caught a glimpse of the tip of the iceberg of the world. So she starts trying to understand the narrow world with her narrow knowledge, questioning everything she was taught to accept.
The third stage is seeing the mountain as a mountain again, and the water as water again. She understands more now, has seen more, so she starts developing her own thoughts, knowing what's right and wrong, knowing how to judge, knowing that things are not simply black and white.
This is Shen Yue's change, and it's also the major transformations most people go through in their lifetime.
Many people feel that Shen Yue's personality change is too drastic and they can't understand it.
Well, when you grow up more, you'll be able to understand.
People who have gone through growth do change tremendously.
I was scolded a lot for writing this book. Some scolding I do deserve, some are just people spewing nonsense malice online. I won't talk about those. I just hope I won't get scolded for my next book. *sobs*
Finally, here is a synopsis of my new book for those interested in checking it out. Stop asking when my new book will be released. I already released it and you guys don't even care about me!
Synopsis:
The once glorious Pingtian Sect has welcomed its new sect leader, Yu Kui, after all the geniuses ascended one after another.
Yu Kui is a hidden mediocrity among many geniuses. As the mediocre sect leader, she is even more determined to conceal herself - even with a sword at her throat, she maintains the demeanor of a master to avoid tarnishing Pingtian Sect's last vestige of prestige. Fortunately, she is already a seasoned sect leader who can pretend on her own.
Her senior martial brother who ascended taught her that the first step of mastery is to remain cool at all times.
It is said that during a grand secret realm quest, Yu Kui remained calm and collected before the Master of the Secret Realm. With one shout of "Big Flower", she single-handedly protected disciples of all sects, hence becoming the idol of countless top experts.
In actuality, Yu Kui secretly whispered to the Master like a devil, "Big Flower, are you acting out because only my senior martial brothers and sisters have hit you before, but I haven't?"
The second martial brother who ascended taught her that the second step of mastery is to appear knowledgeable even if you're not. Have the courage to point fingers and give directions to others even if you don't know how yourself.
It is said that during inter-sect competitions, Yu Kui was only there to freeload food and drinks. But there would always be people around her sighing away and affecting her appetite and spiritual fruit. So she pointed fingers and gave directions to a bunch of them, and got rid of a sigher from her vicinity. Unexpectedly, the one she directed suddenly had an epiphany and increased his cultivation tremendously. From then on, wherever Yu Kui went to freeload would never have sighers affecting her meals again.
The third senior martial sister taught her that the third step of mastery is to carry enough spirit stones.
There is no issue that enough spirit stones cannot resolve. If there is one, it means there are not enough spirit stones.
A few years later, the originally bare sect now has three thousand elite disciples as well as... one well-concealed mediocrity.
