Chapter 179: Shocking the customers
"Now, our turn."
The three attendants moved at the same time. They moved so swiftly, leaving a gust of wind behind. Before everyone could process what was happening, they arrived in front of the elders.
Bang!
The leading elders only had his jaw drop when a powerful fist rammed deep into his chest.
Crack!
The sound of bones breaking to pieces resounded throughout the lobby.
Ah!
He flung in the air and crashed against the wall, blood splashed out from his mouth.
Right after that, two miserable howls echoed in the store.
Two elders were sent crashing against the wall. Their situation was not any better than the leading elders.
The customers took a couple of steps back with their hearts in their throats. Their jaws dropped to the ground.
"Am I dreaming?"
"Are they acting?"
No one dared to believe what was happening right in front of them. It was like everything was orchestrated, playing with their intelligence.
How could some weak Qi Refinement attendant defeat the powerful elders of the Crimson Jade Pavilion?
Yet, they were witnessing it right before their eyes.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
In the next couple of minutes, the sound of beating echoed continuously, sending shivers down the spine of everyone.
They noticed that the attendants were more ruthless than anyone they've ever seen.
Each of their attacks was deadly and fatal. What even left them stupefied was how easily they defeated the elders.
They were beating like babies.
Slowly, the sound of beating came to a stop. The dead bodies of the elders lay lifelessly on the ground, covered in blood.
Till death, they didn't believe in their wildest dreams that their prideful entourage would easily be killed by some nobody.
The room descended into pin-drop silence. All the customers held their breath; fear gripped their minds like the claw of death.
Now, these smiling attendants were devils in clothing. With them holding the fort, why would they need guards?
It was then they realized why the store never bothered to place guards by the entrance.
"Sorry about that," the young man attendant turned to look at the trembling customers and smiled.
"We're going to clean all these mess and continue. Sorry once again."
The customers only stared wildly at him with their mouths wide open. They would be fools to believe whatever he says.
Just as the young man turned to leave, his voice trailed behind.
"We won't tell you not to tell others about what you witnessed. But remember, your life and your families…"
They shivered and sucked in a breath with their spines drenched in cold sweats.
He was threatening them, but who dared to voice out their displeasure. They exchanged glances and sighed.
They realized how unfortunate they were to be wrapped in the mess.
Meanwhile, those outside waited expectantly with various expressions on their faces.
Some people wanted the Celestial Heavenly Store to be subdued and be controlled. While others wanted the opposite.
They thought the store would be intimidated and the Spirit Comms wouldn't be cheaper again.
All their thoughts shattered when a group of customers walked out with lifeless expressions on their faces.
They looked at those coming out of the stores with conflicting expressions on their faces.
"What happened to them?"
They wondered, and they looked at each other.
"Are they not selling the Spirit Comms again?"
Some speculated. Yet, no one went to meet them.
Shortly, one of the store attendants came out and called the next batch of customers inside.
Watching this, the confusion in their minds deepened.
"What the hell is going on?!"
Those that wanted the fall of the store couldn't contain their bewildered expressions.
This was not going according to the script.
In the labyrinth of confusion, the mind grapples with shadows, seeking clarity like a lost wanderer chasing echoes.
The confusion etched on their face like a second skin.
Their minds were in a whirlpool of confusion, lost and questioning.
They were on the brink of going insane.
Out of the most confused people, an elder rushed out of the crowd and walked with a large stride toward the female attendant that was preparing to enter the store.
"Please, young lady," he called urgently.
The lady stopped and turned her head toward the voice direction.
She looked at the man and didn't utter any word, waiting for him to speak.
"Ahem. Sorry for disturbing," he paused to arrange his thoughts.
"Can you tell me what happened to the elders?"
"What do you mean what happened to the elders?" She asked with a frown on her face.
"S-Sorry… I didn't mean it that way," he quickly said.
He tried to speak once again but was interrupted by the lady.
"I don't know which elders you're talking about. Now, get the hell out of my sight and don't think of buying any Spirit Comms from our store again," she berated and entered the store.
Gasped!
Everyone widened their eyes and looked at the frozen man at the entrance.
The domineering attitude of the female attendant left them stunned. Besides, this also deepened the confusion in the hearts of everyone.
What did she mean she didn't see any elders?
No matter how confused they were, they've learned from the brazen elderly man.
As for the elderly man, he dragged his heavy foot in embarrassment out of the crowd.
Deep in his heart, he was cursing the lady with all the deadly curse he could remember at the moment.
'Hmm. Let's see what happens tonight. I will wait and see how you beg for your pathetic useless life.'
The short altercation at the entrance had spread to every major clan in the city.
Those in the Core city were even glad such happened. This would aid their cause.
As for the Crimson Jade Pavilion, they were restless. Tension filled the pavilion.
Even those that came to buy goods in the pavilion could feel the heavy atmosphere.
Inside a small, ordinary room, an old woman sat on a futon with a deep frown on her face.
She held a secret letter in her bony hands and uttered in a low voice.
"Since they didn't appreciate our good intention. Then, it is better to eradicate them."
