Era of Players: Death God

Chapter 84: Monday arrived

Stella took a moment to gather her thoughts, considering how best to explain the concept of love to Lilith. She knew that love was not a simple equation with a set of prescribed steps, but rather a nuanced and multifaceted experience that required introspection and self-discovery. She began,

"Love, my dear Lilith, is not merely about protecting and supporting someone. While those actions are certainly important aspects of love, they are just the tip of the iceberg."

She paused, savoring the flavor of her wine, before continuing. "Love is also about understanding, empathy, and acceptance. It's about truly seeing someone for who they are and embracing them, flaws and all. Love means being there for someone, not just in their moments of triumph and happiness, but also during their darkest and most vulnerable times."

Lilith listened intently, her eyes widening with curiosity. She had always been an eager learner, and her thirst for knowledge seemed to be heightened in this moment. Stella took a deep breath, ready to delve deeper into the fundamentals of love.

"Love is an ongoing journey, Lilith," Stella emphasized. "It requires continuous effort and growth. It means being willing to learn from one another, to adapt and evolve as individuals and as a couple. It means recognizing that love is not always sunshine and rainbows, but also entails facing challenges, disagreements, and conflicts, and finding ways to navigate through them together."

Lilith's expression turned thoughtful as she absorbed Stella's words. She had always believed that love was a simple emotion like anger or hunger, but now she was beginning to see its nuanced complexity. Stella smiled warmly, reassuring her niece that she was on the right path.

"Now, Lilith, think about your relationship with Noah," Stella prompted. "Think about the way he makes you feel, the happiness and contentment he brings into your life. Reflect on the ways in which you support and care for each other. Do you see the potential for love in those experiences?"

Lilith nodded slowly, a newfound understanding glimmering in her eyes. Stella could sense that a shift had occurred within her, as though a fog had lifted to reveal something profound and beautiful.

"Yes, I do," Lilith replied softly unlike her expressionless face.

"I see now that love is not just about protecting and supporting someone, but also about understanding, growth, and acceptance. It's about embracing their flaws and being there for them through thick and thin."

Stella's heart swelled with pride as she witnessed Lilith's growth. It was as if a dormant seed had finally blossomed into a vibrant flower. She knew that Lilith had taken an important step on her journey towards understanding love, and she would be there to guide her every step of the way.

"Yes, my dear," Stella said, affectionately placing a hand on Lilith's shoulder. "You are beginning to grasp the essence of love. It is a beautiful and transformative force, one that has the power to bring immense joy and fulfillment. Now, armed with this newfound knowledge, go forth and continue nurturing your love for Noah.

Explore the depths of what love truly means to you, and never stop learning and growing. You will have to act firmly and faster if not another woman may snatch him.''

Stella knew that Lilith had always been reserved and hesitant when it came to expressing her emotions. But seeing her niece lost in deep thought after their conversation about love, Stella realized that she needed to push Lilith to take action before it was too late.

With a mischievous glint in her eye, Stella decided to play the role of a cunning advisor, planting the seed of jealousy in Lilith's mind. She carefully crafted her words, hinting that if Lilith didn't act swiftly, she might lose Noah to someone else.

Stella knew that this tactic might seem manipulative, but she believed it was necessary to awaken Lilith's dormant feelings and encourage her to fight for what she held dear.

Lilith nodded, uncertain if what she felt for Noah could truly be described as love. However, the mere thought of someone else taking him away filled her with inexplicable anger and a surge of unfamiliar emotions. Despite being unable to name this feeling, one thing remained clear: she could not bear to lose Noah under any circumstances.

She longed to always be by his side, offering unwavering support and making up for her absence during their childhood. This time, she vowed to rescue him just as he had once rescued her with his father.

The aunt and niece continued drinking until Lilith passed out.

''Hehehe! I've done my best, the rest is up to you my little Lilith.'' Stella rose to her feet and carrying Lilith to one of the many rooms on the upper floor.

Stella gently placed Lilith on the soft bed, tucking her in with a warm blanket. As she watched her niece drift off into a peaceful slumber, Stella couldn't help but marvel at how quickly time had passed. It seemed like just yesterday that Lilith was a young girl, full of curiosity and wonder jumping around.

With a fond smile on her face, Stella left the bedroom and made her way to the backyard where her luxurious swimming pool awaited. The night air was warm, enticing her to take a refreshing dip.

She slipped into the cool water, feeling the stress and exhaustion washing away with each stroke. The moon cast a gentle glow over the pool, creating a serene atmosphere that soothed Stella's soul. She indulged in the tranquility of the moment, relishing in the silence broken only by the gentle sound of water moving around her.

After some time, Stella emerged from the pool, feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. With droplets of water glistening on her skin, she wrapped herself in a plush robe and made her way back to the house.

As she entered the living room, Stella noticed a book lying on the coffee table, its pages filled with tales of adventure and fantasy, a book from the old world. Stella picked it up and settled herself on a comfortable chair by the fireplace. The crackling flames danced and flickered, casting a warm glow across the room as Stella lost herself in the pages of the book.

Hours passed in blissful solitude as she immersed herself in the world of magic and mythical creatures.

''Humans sure have imagination, to think mystical monsters and magic would exist one day, turning the world into what it is today, how fascinating. Maybe, our ancestors have the power of foresight. Fufufu! How absurd of me, well sometimes having these kinds of thoughts is refreshing. Let's continue reading.''

Just as she was about to continue reading clock struck midnight, and Stella reluctantly closed the book, her mind filled with awe and wonder.

She made her way back to the bedroom, checking on Lilith one more time before retiring to her own room. As she lay in bed, her mind and heart filled with gratitude for the cherished moments shared with her niece. It was worthwhile to take a short vacation to come back to the academy, too bad she would have to go back soon and restart her research.

Sunlight filtered through the room landing on Noah's face, a new day had begun. He slowly opened his eyes, blinking away the remnants of sleep. Stretching his arms above his head, Noah welcomed the warmth of the morning sun on his skin. The soft golden rays danced across the room, casting a gentle glow on the walls.

As Noah sat up, he took a moment to appreciate the tranquility of the morning. The peacefulness of the room was only interrupted by the faint chirping of birds outside. He could hear the distant sound of leaves rustling in the gentle breeze, bringing with it the promise of a fresh start.

Noah rose from his bed, feeling a surge of energy and anticipation for the day ahead. He walked over to the window, pulling back the curtains to fully embrace the beauty of the morning. The vibrant hues of the sky greeted him, painting a breathtaking backdrop for the world outside.

With determination in his eyes, he embarked on his morning workout, pushing his body to its limits.

The rhythmic sound of his footsteps on the treadmill echoed in the quiet room as he increased the speed, feeling his heart race in response. The sweat dripped down his brow, evidence of the effort he was putting in to stay fit and healthy.

After a satisfying workout, Noah made his way to the bathroom, ready to freshen up and start his day. The sound of running water filled the room as he splashed his face, washing away any remnants of sleep. He looked at his reflection in the mirror, his strong physique and determined gaze mirroring the motivation that fueled him each day.

While brushing his teeth, Noah's thoughts started to drift, pondering the upcoming day.

"I'm curious about what our teacher has to share. I'm eager to begin missions beyond the academy," he mused.

With it being Monday and the start of a new school week, Noah hoped that his desire would be fulfilled.
