Chapter 84 Liu Xueyi's Interrogation
*************
CHAPTER 84
"Is that so..." Liu Xueyi trailed off before lifting his eyes from the laptop screen and staring with keen interest at the young man.
"Are there any problems she is facing, Cao Yan?"
"Honestly, sir, I wouldn't know much of this, but yesterday she got a message from Jian Xiaofei, and the way she reacted, drew everyone's attention to her."
Liu Xueyi rose his brows at him. Andromeda's reaction sure was something to worry about. However, he was concerned about why she failed to tell him when it was work-related?
He knew their last encounter wasn't sweet, well... that may have been a lie for it was very sweet and brain-teasing, nerve-wracking even.
With a sigh, there was but one excuse, that he too was lousy at evading her like that.
No wonder she would not speak to him. But knowing her, she would readily run from him at first sight. He just needed to play chase instead and catch his naughty mouse.
After all, if his hands had known better and stayed closer to themselves, there would not have been any issue.
Not taht he was complaining about it though. He was happy and yet, uneazy.
"After which she sent us out for a break, leaving herself and Jian Xiaofei in the office," Cao Yan continued.
Liu Xueyi nodded in understanding, deeply considering his words. "Fine."
"My apologies for telling you only today, but I did come earlier and your secretary informed me that you went out for a meeting."
"I did. She was right. next time drop off a message with her or sen"
"Okay, sir. If you wish to know, however, I think Jian Xiaofei is our best way in."
"I know, I would summon her later," Liu Xueyi started. "You have my gratitude, Cao Yan. Can I count on you to keep an eye out for me?"
"Of course, sir."
"On the contrary, are there any problems with her style of leading and working?"
"No, sir," the man shook his head. "Honestly sir, though her tasks are more demanding, she is doing her best and very well managing everyone's talent and bringing out their best whilst also ensuring demands are met. Under her administration, the preparation for fashion week remains a top priority."
He took a pause and upon Liu Xueyi's silence, he continued with his praises of Andromeda. "She is handling things well. I do not think you would have anyone more fitted here to handle this job," Cao Yan praised.
"Wow, this is good," Liu Xueyi affirmed and brought both hands in front of his chin, intertwining them together.
"If she was not capable she would not have gotten the job in the first place. I believe in her capabilities. I'll continue to count on you to assist her."
Cao Yan lowered his head before Liu Xueyi again and responded with a small smile. "Without a doubt, sir. She deserves it."
"Good, you may go; I would visit her myself," Liu Xueyi started. "Tell Fu Chu Hua to request Jain Xiaofei for me. If there is a problem, I ought to see to it quickly."
"Understood, sir."
Following his heed, Cao Yan took his leave without complaint and delivered Liu Xueyi's message to his secretary.
What he knew was no opinion in his eyes, but a fact that the CEO was a caring person and that he would not have a problem with Andromeda. Besides, he liked her personality and certainly wanted the best for her.
On the other hand, he could tell the CEO was very much concerned with Andromeda and her performance and felt happy about it. They would make quite a pair if some sort of affection was to bloom.
Following Liu Xueyi's order, Fu Chu Hua sent for Jain Xiaofei and she immediately hurried to his office.
Unfortunately for her, as much as she would have told Andromeda first, she couldn't because of their break and wandered off to his office.
Once in, she came face to face with the rumored indifferent CEO of the Liu Corporation.
All her life, she hoped not to cross this man but now, it seemed that there was no way to avoid him and more importantly, she had only one thought in her mind.
'What sins am I paying for being summoned by the rumored cold devil?'
"Hello, Jian Xiaofei," he greeted first. "I know you must be wondering, how I know of you and what you must have done to warrant your presence in my office."
His eyes twinkled with mischief as he shot a cold but calm gaze at her. She swallowed hard, clenching tightly at the hem of her fled puckered dot skirt, but kept a calm smile she was trained to maintain throughout the years.
"Good morning, sir," she greeted at last upon finding the confidence in her voice.
"How about we start with what went wrong with Miss Kai yesterday that warranted her yell at the general office?"
Jian Xiaofei wished to avoid Liu Xueyi, but unfortunately, she couldn't; her only chance was to give in to his demand and tell him all she knew.
She could certainly not tell him that Andromeda had helped because no one but Andromeda knew of her discussion with Xie Tian.
So, considering that Andromeda may have a huge challenge with this matter, Jian Xiaofei readily opened up.
"But what happened with the…Oh, you said it. They were bought in bulk by another industry. I can well guess which industry that would be. Anyways," he looked up at her and pressed a small satisfied smile on his lips.
"I would handle it from here. Do not tell her of our discussion here today."
"I won't, sir," she promised. "I truly wish you would be able to help her so she can take a break once in a while," Jian Xiaofei confessed, leaning forward.
From her actions, Liu Xueyi could tell Jian Xiaofei truly cared for Andromeda and he was sure that perhaps the majority of the staff under her administration would share the same sentiment.
She carried on her shoulders too much responsibility and did so without question or complaint.
"Fine, I would. But if you wish for me to provide aid to your boss in her times of struggle, in the future, you must report her hardships to me. Am I understood?"
Her lips parted but no response left her tongue as her eyes wandered about the office; she didn't dare meet Liu Xueyi's gaze.
She knew it was her eagerness to help Andromeda that had placed her in the palms of Liu Xueyi's hands.
"Am I Understood, Jian Xiaofei? he asked again.
He narrowed his eyes at her, carefully studying her reaction, "Can I count on your trust to help me help her? Of course, I would compensate you for the trouble, quite handsomely I might add."
"I don't want to spy on her," Jian Xiaofei muttered her confession more to herself than Liu Xueyi as she lowered her head.
He heard her confession but didn't scold her, he needed her on his side to achieve his aim.
