Chapter 6043: Old Pact
Chapter 6043: Old Pact
Silver Dragon was a living mecha with the power to contend against the overlords. It instilled untold destruction with a single thought, decimating sects and kingdoms in the blink of an eye.
Countless beings dispersed into smoke from its wrath, forcing progenitors and emperors to join the battle. Alas, all of them lost until Desolate Ancestor showed up with her saber.
The earth-shattering battle ended with Silver Dragon’s defeat and Desolate Ancestor suffering a lasting injury. The latter, no longer in her prime, didn’t perform as well as she could have during Devil Desolate War.
Six-style knew nothing about the corpse of the dragon mecha. The current generation didn’t pay any attention to it since it had been so long. Now, the head was buried right beneath this inconspicuous peak.
Kundali was taken aback by Li Qiye’s revelation. No one knew but he only needed one glance.
“Can’t fool your eyes, Young Noble.” He sighed and said: “The dragon mecha was disassembled after its defeat. This head lost its divinity long ago, so calling it scrap metal isn’t a lie.”
“Mmm. Don’t worry, I’m not here for it, I just have a question for you.” Li Qiye said.
Kundali had the same assessment of Li Qiye as everyone else - an ordinary mortal. Nevertheless, he understood the guy might be unfathomable.
He took a deep breath and bowed: “I will answer to the best my of ability.”
“What do you know about this?” Li Qiye held the badge and asked again.
“I do not know its true significance, only that it came from Five-element Mountain. This is my first time seeing one too, I only knew of it from reading the records.” Kundali said.
“I’m not asking about its origin, I already know.” Li Qiye said.
“Then what is your question, Young Noble?” Kundali stared at him.
“Old Pact Strike.” Li Qiye said.
Six-style stared at Kundali. If Li Qiye came to ask, it meant that Kundali had information about this mysterious event.
“It is one of the six heavenly wars. Only a few know of its existence, perhaps it is only a legend.” Kundali took a deep breath and said.
“What do you know?” Li Qiye took a sip of tea.
Kundali paused for a moment and Li Qiye wasn’t in a rush. Time seemed to be slowing down.
Although Kundali didn’t know Li Qiye or his intention, he knew he was the underdog.
“As far as I know, Five-element Mountain didn’t participate.” He eventually said.
“Who were the participants?” Li Qiye smiled.
Kundali took his time before responding: “Young Noble, why are you here?”
“You shouldn’t be asking me this. If you don’t want to talk right now, I’m sure you’ll change your mind in the future.” Li Qiye relaxed in his chair and said.
“Do I have a choice?” Kundali smiled wryly.
“I don’t know, I have to figure out the things I want to know. As for the details of the process, that remains to be seen.” Li Qiye said.
Kundali became anxious upon hearing these calmly spoken words without any hint of threat. He might be the strongest desolate god in Sin right now and only three beings could defeat him. Nevertheless, he felt like he had zero agency in this matter.
“Five-element itself didn’t participate, but their progenitor, Purelotus Wood Ancestor, participated in a personal capacity.” Kundali gave up and told the truth.
“Not surprising, but that’s not enough.” Li Qiye smiled and didn’t want to reveal too much of what he knew.
“The actual participants will stay a mystery, no one knows all the details including myself.” Kundali said.
“Then who else?” Li Qiye asked.
“From the records, I can confirm the majority of the participants being ancient progenitors, hence the name of the agreement, Old Pact.” Kundali said.
“So during the era of the three immortals.” Li Qiye remarked.
“You know as well.” Kundali understood Li Qiye knew too much to mislead him, so he answered honestly: “The progenitors included Gao Yang, Bao Pu, Nine Secrets, Wang Yangming, Purelotus Wood Ancestor, Xuansu...”
“Seems like it wasn’t just for Three Immortals. Ancient Society, High Sun Pavilion, and Daoseek participated too.” Li Qiye revealed.
“These mythical organizations were real?” Kundali took a deep breath.
“I thought they were mere rumors.” Six-style interjected.
“Of course, was Gao Yang real?” Li Qiye answered flatly.
Gao Yang was one of the most brilliant progenitors. Perhaps it wasn’t strange for him to start an organization. [1]
“But Ancient Society has no evidence of existence outside of its name.” Kundali murmured.
“Indeed, fewer people know about it than Old Pact Strike.” Li Qiye smiled at him, seemingly implying something.
“I’ve read it in an ancient scroll as well but didn’t think much of it.” Kundali smiled wryly.
