Chapter 6029: Look At What You’ve Done
“Raa!” The figure threw the coffin at Li Qiye.
Fortunately for the rest of the world, the immortal palace was able to endure this power.
“Crackle!” Cursed lightning engulfed Li Qiye.
“Bam!” Li Qiye smashed the coffin with his bare fists and threatened: “Wishing to die already.”
His eyes released primordial light and power, putting him above the heavenly curse.
“Suppress!” He formed the ultimate primordial mudra to strike the source of the curse. If immortals were real, they would still be suppressed by his unique seal.
“Raa!” The curse didn’t go down without a fight, sending out more explosions to take Li Qiye down with it.
Unfortunately, its strength only forced Li Qiye to summon his primordial tree to empower his seal for total suppression.
The boundless primordial turned Li Qiye into a being similar to the high heaven or even beyond. His laws could replace everything.
The curse gradually shrank until it became limited to the area inside the coffin. His primordial rays purified the dimension, taking everything back to its original state.
The hair on the giant dispersed and he regained his former self. Exhaustion made him fall to the ground.
“Look at what you’ve done.” Li Qiye glanced at him and said while suppressing the coffin.
The man got up and sat on his butt, covered in sweat and struggling for breath. He stared at the coffin with a bitter smile.
“Thank you, Sir.” He bowed his head.
He was a middle-aged man with a majestic appearance. Although time had left its mark on his face, one could easily see how handsome he must have been during his youth.
Nevertheless, it gave him back charisma and a more mature charm. The paleness on his face didn’t deter his attractiveness.
“Don’t thank me yet.” Li Qiye said: “I can’t help you since this is predetermined.”
His expression became dejected.
“I already warned you but you maintained the path.” Li Qiye added.
“I couldn’t help it, Sir.” He sighed.
“It’s your problem.” Li Qiye shook his head.
“You have the power to suppress the heaven, Sir.” He took a deep breath and said.
“So what if I do? You have done what shouldn’t be done, attempting to revive a truly dead person. The only possible outcome was a permanent curse.” Li Qiye said.
“But this doesn’t apply to you, Sir.” He stared at Li Qiye.
“There are things that neither I nor the high heaven will break. There is a price to pay for doing so, it might not be on me or the heaven but ultimately, the world and its inhabitants will pay for ages to come.” Li Qiye said.
“...” He didn’t expect this response.
“The balance must be maintained for the consequences are irreversible. The issue is who will be the ones facing them.” Li Qiye added.
“Is there no other way, Sir?” He couldn’t help but ask.
“No. Resurrecting your lover will create a debt that must be paid.” Li Qiye answered.
“With my life then, Sir, I will pay with my life.” He took a deep breath and said solemnly.
“It’s too late.” Li Qiye shook his head: “It might have been possible back then but not anymore. When you carried out your plan, karma was born so there is no returning to the beginning just like how a shot arrow will not return to the string.”
“So my life isn’t enough...” He murmured.
“What are you paying with your life? To remove the curse or to bring her back to life? You didn’t think about this when you started, now it’s no longer about life and death between you and her, there’s something else added, the curse. How will you fill this pit that you’ve dug?” Li Qiye said.
“What will happen if I revive her now?” He asked.
“I can help you with that, but the curse will always follow her.” Li Qiye said.
He sat there in silence upon hearing this.
“But you can erase the curse.” He eventually spoke.
“You wish to revive her and have me remove the curse. But you must understand how unfair and difficult it is. Why should I be troubled due to your sin?” Li Qiye said.
“So there’s no other way.” He said.
“An exchange is possible if you have equivalent karma such as an ultimate fortune.” Li Qiye chuckled.
“I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed, I have nothing of that sort.” He shook his head.
“In other words, I won’t suffer for no reason.” Li Qiye said.
“Then we’ll have to stay like this?” He asked.
“No.” Li Qiye shook his head and said: “I will kill you both.”
“Sir?!” The man was surprised.
“Since I am here, shouldn’t I do what I’m supposed to do?” Li Qiye said.
“But...” He didn’t know how to respond.
“Tell me what you think I should do then.” Li Qiye said.
“Ju-just let us bear our own karma, to live under this curse for eternity.” He took a deep breath and said.
“You know full well that as the curse grows, it becomes more and more powerful. Look at what it was just a moment ago, so imagine its full potential. Would I allow such a thing to exist in this epoch?” Li Qiye said.
“You could exile us, Sir.” He suggested.
