Chapter 5950: Tall Trees Attract The Strongest Winds

The oldest among them lowered his head and said quietly: “Ancestor, please give us guidance, should we participate in the conference... or go to Radiant Longevity School?”

“I will go.” Li Qiye answered before she could.

The old men looked up at him in confusion. After all, he was an outsider while the conference was meant for their alliance. Although the Chu had left Insane Court, they still maintained a relationship with the others.

“You have business to take care of, Young Noble?” Chu Zhu was surprised as well. The eight members of the alliance were nothing but insects in their eyes.

“Yes, some ties and loose ends.” Li Qiye smiled.

“I’ll accompany you.” She said.

The old men didn’t expect this. Their clan was rather strong relative to the alliance and would be treated very well. If their ancestor were to come, everyone would kneel to greet her.

“You returned this time to bid farewell to the past, so sever everything. Finish your business since there might not be a next time.” Li Qiye waved his hand.

This touched the most sensitive area of her heart so she paused. This was indeed the truth - she was saying goodbye to her clan and everyone else. There was no next time.

“I understand and will listen to you, Young Noble.” She bowed slightly.

“Take good care of the fateful connections.” He smiled.

She sighed after this. A severing of the past meant severing her fateful connection with her clan and childhood to begin a new future. She was deeply moved when these thoughts crossed her mind.

Li Qiye didn’t stay at the Chu for long and set out for the ancient alliance. Chu Zhu ordered some descendants to escort him to Insane Gate.

Of course, he could teleport there in the blink of an eye. Although Three Immortals had changed, it wasn’t difficult for him to find a sect or ruins. He didn’t want to decline her kind intention so he accepted the offer.

Furthermore, the eight sects of the alliance were located outside of Splendor, not particularly far from the Chu’s territory.

“There are many powers outside of Splendor, some are rumored to be dating back to Time Immemorial, the lucky survivors after the calamity. They took root in the outskirts as well.” An elder explained to Li Qiye during their trip.

He spoke of names that have been forgotten in the present day, being reduced from dao lineages to third-rate sects.

“Tall trees attract the strongest winds.” Li Qiye smiled while observing the scattering sects.

“Yes, Young Noble.” The elder nodded: “Splendor has a unique position in Sin. It might be within the territory of Enigma but they have zero jurisdiction here. The dynasty does not try to exert its authority.”

Among the group were regular ancestors of the Chu. Alas, they looked like Li Qiye’s servants on the trip.

Not a single soul dared to be disrespectful and viewed Li Qiye in the same lens as Chu Zhu.

“Interesting.” Li Qiye glanced at the magnificent city after hearing this.

“Splendor Monarch is a legendary figure who had traveled across Three Immortals in search of treasures. He has the most treasures and stores out of anyone. They can be found everywhere with merchandise comparable to the ancient Arrogance Enterprise.” Another said.

“Arrogant Enterprise.” Li Qiye smiled since this place had withstood the test of time.

“Have you heard of it before, Young Noble? The oldest store in all of Three Immortals with deep ties to Lord of Calamities.” One of them added.

“Lord of Calamities?” Li Qiye’s eyes narrowed.

“Another legendary figure, no one has seen his true face before because tribulations follow him. People just stay far away.” The descendant said.

“I see.” Li Qiye stroked his chin and had guesses about this person’s identity: “Looks like it was open.”

Meanwhile, someone else pointed ahead and said: “Young Noble, we are entering Ancient Step, it’s adjacent to the alliance.”

Li Qiye looked up and saw a large lineage built among the mountain range. He saw great pavilions hidden behind mists and clouds. An air engulfed the area, seemingly different from the outside world since it was blessed by a wind god. It made people feel like they were floating.

“Impressive foundation.” Li Qiye commented.

“Young Noble, this might be the most powerful lineage in the region around Splendor. Rumor has it that back in an era far behind our time where the strongest were known as progenitors, they actually had two.” One disciple elaborated.

“Two progenitors.” Li Qiye seemed surprised to hear this.

“Yes, I believe this was extremely rare back then.” The disciple nodded.

“Still just the starting point.” Li Qiye smiled.
