Chapter 2405 Red Demon
Chapter 2405 Red Demon
Agis the Red Demon was a figure of legend, especially among human magus. Known for his brutality in battle, he had a reputation for taking on and defeating even those who surpassed him in power. Though he was in the second cosmos realm, his skill and ruthlessness allowed him to claim the lives of grand magus even in the third cosmos, a feat that few could boast. Adding to his fearsome presence was the ancient, crimson-scaled beast he rode—a dragon of godly rank, just as infamous as Agis himself.
ROOOAARRRR!
The dragon's deafening roar echoed across the desert, triggering memories in Emery that he had long buried. Blood-soaked visions of his fellow acolytes, torn apart by that same monstrous jaw, flooded his mind. The horrific memories broke his concentration, unraveling the spatial spell he had been desperately holding together. The portal flickered and then dissipated entirely, leaving them exposed.
From beside him, Major Kouga stared up at the armored figure atop the dragon, his expression hardening as he said "Agis the Red Demon... It's really you. You came here for me?"
Hovering in the air, Agis let out a twisted smile, his eyes gleaming with cold intent. "Yes… you're next on my list," he replied, his tone casual yet laced with malice.
Major Kouga let out a dark, humorless laugh. "Hah! It's an honor to be on the Red Demon's list!"
He took a firm stance, his face resolute. "All of you, leave. I'll handle him myself! Go!"
But Grand Magus Dopa stepped forward, his expression equally determined. As he activated his transformation, his form expanded into a massive five-meter giant. "You don't outrank me, Major," he growled. "I'll stay and fight."
"So will I," said Grand Magus Helga, her voice unwavering. Both she and Dopa, decorated Military officers, felt the weight of vengeance in this battle. Facing Agis the Red Demon was a formidable challenge, yet they welcomed it—a chance to strike back for the comrades they'd lost to the Demon's wrath.
As determination steeled the others, Princess Muriel nodded resolutely, stepping forward to join the fray along with the still recovering elderly Grand Magus, each prepared to make their stand.
Emery, however, felt a deep pull in the opposite direction. Whether it was the traumatic memories of his past encounters with the Red Demon or his more rational instincts, every part of him screamed to escape, to find safety. But he was too late. The Red Demon had activated his battlefield domain. The very air around them seemed to thicken, warping reality itself and crushing their attempts to leave. Emery's energy faltered as the domain's oppressive pressure made it nearly impossible for him to cast another spatial gate unless he could break through the Elf's overwhelming domain.
To counter the overwhelming force of the Red Demon's battlefield domain, Kouga, Dopa, and Archie each unleashed their own, their combined domain creating a formidable defensive front. The other three Grand Magus joined in, deploying their personal domains, each one unique and fierce, ready to clash against Agis's oppressive aura.
Six against one, yet the sheer ferocity of the battle painted the desert night in blinding flashes of light, turning the landscape into a fierce, unnatural dawn.
As the battle erupted, Emery held back, carefully observing the titanic clash of powers unfolding before him. He was still struggling to suppress the fear gnawing at him, fully aware that this was no ordinary battle. It was a Grand Magus-level battle, and one wrong move could send him into oblivion. Unless he unleashed his full strength, a power he wasn't yet ready to reveal. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"ATTACK!!"
Major Kouga was the first to unleash his might, casting a Tier 7 spell, [Freezing Rain]. Hundreds of gleaming ice spears formed in the air, each one charged with deadly precision as they descended toward Agis and his dragon. At the same time, Grand Magus Dopa, in his transformed form, launched a powerful punch [Colossal Smash], his fist crackling with raw energy, while Archie surged forward, his white lightning-infused sword aimed straight for the Red Demon's defenses.
Agis and his dragon were ready. The crimson beast let out a deafening roar, sending shockwaves rippling outward, shattering the ice spears into shimmering crystal dust that rained down around them. Simultaneously, the Red Demon swung his blazing javelin with casual but controlled force. The javelin cleaved through the air, intercepting both Dopa's and Archie's strikes with precise ease. The clash was intense, but Agis emerged victorious; the sheer force of his swing deflected their attacks, sending both seasoned Grand Magus hurtling backward.
Amid the chaos, a glint of steel streaked through the shimmering crystal dust—the last remaining Ghostblade, cloaked in shadows, dashed toward Agis's blind side with lethal precision. The attack was perfectly timed, a surprise strike aimed directly at the Red Demon's exposed flank. Emery could see the flawless coordination between Major Kouga and his elite soldier—a rare, practiced trust built over countless battles.
But just as the Ghostblade closed within a meter, ready to land a critical blow, Agis reacted with eerie calm. Without so much as a glance, his free hand shot out, gripping the Ghostblade's throat with bone-crushing strength, his movements fluid and terrifyingly casual, as if he were merely picking fruit from a tree.
"ARRGH!!"
"NO!!!" Major Kouga's shout cut through the battlefield, his voice laced with desperation and rage. Helplessly, he watched as Agis tightened his grip, preparing to crush the life out of the ghost blade grand magus.
Emery's heart sank as he watched, knowing there was little he or anyone else could do to stop the Red Demon's merciless grip. But just as the crimson-armored elf was about to deliver the final, crushing blow, his hand suddenly coiled with ethereal chains—a serpent-like soul entity snaked around his arm, binding it in place.
Grand Magus Helga had summoned the creature with an intense focus, her eyes blazing with a violet glow as her soul projection wrapped around Agis's arm.
"Now! Attack him now!!" she screamed, her voice charged with urgency.
Her intervention brought a precious moment. The three powerful grand magus—Kouga, Dopa, and Archie—launched themselves forward, each preparing a devastating attack aimed directly at the Red Demon. They closed in from all sides, a synchronized strike that should have overwhelmed any foe.
But the Red Demon only laughed, a chilling, hollow sound, and with a twist of his arm, he shattered the soul creature in an instant, the writhing entity dissolving into wisps. In the same motion, his grip on the Ghostblade's neck tightened until—CRACK—his head burst in a spray of blood and bone.
