Chapter 24 – Sona Sitri, The President of the Student Council

As Koneko helped me stretch with her small hands, I looked over at Akeno and Asia, who were standing near the edge of the court.

Akeno was helping Asia stretch, her hands tilting the blonde girl's back forward to stretch both her legs and her spine. For me, the sight of the two of them together was mesmerizing.

Akeno, in her tight training uniform, had her large breasts outlined, and I could have sworn I could see the color of her bra against her white shirt.

Asia was more shy, but she tried hard not to make any mistakes around the admirable Akeno. Her body, though not as curvaceous as Akeno's, had a delicate beauty. They were exciting in different ways.

Lost in my thoughts, I didn't notice that Koneko was watching me like a hawk. She pushed my back forward hard, snapping me out of my trance with a great deal of pain.

"Ouch!" I exclaimed as I felt the vertebrae in my spine crack. "Why did you do that? You could have put me in a wheelchair."

"Oh? Were you distracted?" she said without a trace of remorse in her voice. "I'm sorry. I said I'd use more force because you're too stiff. I didn't see you weren't paying attention."

I didn't say anything else. I accepted it because I understood the message. After that, I just concentrated on Koneko and helped her stretch.

Soon, the door to the gym opened and Sona Sitri entered, accompanied by Saji, Tsubaki Shinra and other members of the student council.

The council girls wore a training uniform similar to that of the Occult Research Club girls, and Saji wore a gym uniform identical to mine.

"I hope you're ready for our dodgeball game." Sona said, holding a dodge ball in front of them.

The Student Council members lined up on one side of the field, while we Occult Research Club members lined up on the other. There was a visible line between us, marking the center of the field and the limit of where each person could go to throw the ball. I exchanged glances with Rias, who gave everyone in the club an encouraging smile.

"Let's show them what we're made of." Rias said.

On the other side of the field, Sona was giving some instructions to her members.

"Everybody ready, right?" Sona asked after. "Let's get started."

The whistle blew and the dodgeball match began. The three balls in the game flew upward with bursts of energy. This was a private game of devils against devils, so the use of magic was allowed.

In the blink of an eye, I saw a ball coming at me with the speed of a meteor. That was when my Sacred Gear appeared.

"{Boost!}"

Time seemed to slow down as I heard the voice in my head. My eyes immediately focused on the trajectory of the ball, and then, in a move that was more risky than safe, I decided to grab the ball in mid-air, feeling the impact echo through my body. Everyone looked up in surprise, for the one who had thrown the ball was Tsubaki, who had thunderous strength even among devils.

"What? I thought he was the easiest target!" Tsubaki said.

I looked at Rias, who gave me a smile full of pride and approval.

"Yes, Leo!" Kiba exclaimed. "Now throw it back!"

With the fireball firmly in my hands, I looked around the field, quickly assessing the position of each of the student council members.

Tsubaki was standing still with a surprised look on her face. Sona and Saji were further away. I decided to focus on Saji, because if he was going to be a rival for me, it had to be for real reasons.

"{Boost!}" the voice in my head shouted again.

I bent my knees and prepared to throw. My eyes locked on Saji, who seemed to have sensed my intention and began to move, trying to deceive the direction of my attack. With a powerful movement, I threw the ball with all the strength I could muster.

The ball sliced through the air with a sound, breaking the superficial sound barrier.

Saji threw himself to the side at the last second, dodging by a centimeter. The ball flew past him with such force that it exploded against the gym wall, leaving a deep mark and a loud bang.

Everyone was stunned at the power of my shot. Even I was surprised by the result. I knew I was considerably stronger, but by how much?

If my stats were set to the default of 50, and each boost doubled my stats every 10 seconds, this meant that with two boosts I could easily reach 200 physical stat points in 20 seconds. The normal strength stat for devils in this world was 30, so how in the world did Issei manage to be weak with such an attractive power in the anime?

Akeno chuckled amusedly. "Arara~ what a frightening power."

Koneko simply nodded. "Good job."

Saji stood up, wiped the dust from his clothes and broke into a cold sweat. "That was a lucky throw!"

The match continued, and I decided that I didn't need to use all my strength like I had done with the first throw. Yes, using all my power would have made the game easier for the Occult Research Club, but I also wanted to have fun with this kind of silly competition that I could never have at the Compulsory Education Academy.

At one point, I saw Rias throw a ball at Tsubaki, who skillfully deflected it.

In another, Koneko used her great strength to throw a ball that Sona defended with a magic circle.

The gym literally turned into a battlefield, with fire, ice, and lightning sparking everywhere.

Then a new opportunity presented itself. I saw Saji running towards the center of the court, trying to catch a ball that was rolling around. With a quick movement, I ran in the opposite direction, picked up a nearby ball, and threw it at him.

He jumped aside, but the ball passed so close to him that he felt the tremor of the displaced wind. The ball hit the ground with a thud and bounced into the air.

'Ohw!! How strong is this guy? Is he really a beginner like me?' I bet Saji thought something like that from the look on his face.

Asia, who was closest, seized the moment and ran to catch the ball in the air. But Sona had her in her sights. Asia had no way of avoiding it.

"Asia, look out!" I yelled, throwing myself into the ball's path. The impact of the rubber ball against me was strong, throwing me backwards, but I managed to help Asia as I grabbed the ball.

Asia looked at me worriedly. "Leo, are you okay?"

Even in pain, I smiled. "Hehe! Don't worry, I'm fine."

Sona Sitri was physically much stronger than she looked.

"Way to go, Leo!" Rias shouted.

Finally, the last moment of the game had arrived. Sona was practically alone on her side of the court after Tsubaki was hit, while on our side, there was still me, Rias and Kiba. She knew she had to make a risky move to try to turn the match around. It wasn't crazy to hit one opponent and use a magic circle to deflect the ball to another. Yes, that was her plan.

Sona threw the ball with incredible power, aiming directly at Rias. Rias dodged the ball with impressive agility and it flew past her towards the end line. I ran to catch it.

"Damn." Sona said and started running away from the center of the court, trying to make it harder to hit.

With a quick move, I caught the ball and aimed at Sona. She was running in a straight line and backwards, so it was easy to hit her.

Saji tried to warn her, but when she looked in my direction, the ball I had thrown was only a few centimeters away. She tried to dodge, but the ball hit her hand.

With the leader eliminated, it was only a matter of time before the rest of the student council was hit.

As the game ended, Sona came over from the other side of the court, accompanied by the members of the student council.

"Congratulations." Sona said respectfully. "It was a fair match. You deserved to win."

Saji, though obviously disappointed, shook my hand. "You have incredible strength, Leo. I expected nothing less from my opponent."

I smiled back at him defiantly. "You're not so bad yourself."

When I went to greet Sona, she shook my right hand and said:

"Your name is Leonard Tonello, right? I'm Sona Sitri. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."
